  • "We loved the location, very quiet and peaceful."

House warm and cosy, beds comfortable but some of the bed linen had seen better days. The cleaning wasn’t quite up to scratch. As most other reviewers have mentioned the fridge is an issue. As 7 of us stayed over Christmas there just isn’t enough fridge space for a normal shop never mind a Christmas shop. Some of the cupboards are empty surely they could be replaced by another integrated fridge? But we all enjoyed our stay as it is a lovely house.

  • "This property was amazing the space and the layout very good Just a couple of things fridge not big enough to accommodate 8 persons, nowhere in bathroom to hang towel or robes Main light over dining table didn’t work, very bad damp which smelt in master bedroom, nowhere in bedrooms to do make up, dry hair with mirrors."

Rubbish to be put in bags provided only got one so not ideal for a week for 8 persons We had a great time and close to many places to visit

  • "This is a lovely cottage but with a few niggles."

We were a family of 8, the fridge is to small, you need an extra fridge to accommodate. There were only 3 tumbler glasses and 1 prosecco glass to use plenty of other glasses,we had to go out and buy more glasses. Some lights were not working properly. We had a great stay here but it needs to be maintained better especially for larger families staying.

A great base for exploring the area too!

  • "We all loved the house, it was on a small complex and was comfortable and warm."

Unfortunately the cleaning standards were very disappointing, bathrooms especially. Maintenance of the property is poor.

  • "What a beautiful cottage, in a beautiful location."

Our stay here was lovely. Eight of us stayed for 3 nights and had a fun packed weekend. It is close enough to various beaches and attractions in the car, restaurants and shops close by. The cottage initially was cold but once warmed it we were all complaining about the heat. The rooms all spacious and beds comfortable, clean throughout. Would recommend this property. Negatives… fridge size ( to small) and no tools for the log burner.

  • "This is a lovely holiday cottage, very clean and tastefully furnished."

The welcome pack was a pleasant surprise and very much appreciated. The cottage is in a very quiet location, perfect for people who want to get away from it all, but still relatively close to facilities and places of interest. The weather wasn't great while we were there, so the good choice of channels on the TV was a bonus. I agree with previous review comments that the fridge is too small, considering the property can take 8 people, so it would be good if a second fridge could be installed. The only other issue was that the light on the cooker that tells you when it is up to temperature was not working - I'm sure this can easily be fixed, or an oven thermometer provided. Overall this was a great place, and I would stay there again.

Ideal for a larger (6-8) group. Very comfortable in all aspects

  • "The cottage itself is in a lovely location, with great views and easy access to the A55 which gets you anywhere you need to go."

It's spacious and well equipped, however a few aspects are in need of repair. Fridge door is missing a shelf to stand your milk up, shower door handle is half hanging off, dining room light doesn't turn on and one of the coat hangers is swinging by one screw. Overall however this doesn't spoil the stay and we would definitely return

  • "The property was very good we loved it on arrival it was spacious and had everything we needed except for a few issues."

No stair rails. The fridge was far to small with a part missing from the door for bottles. There was a smell as you walked near to the television but we couldn’t find out where it was from . The biggest problem was the very squeaky floor boards upstairs waking us up In the downstairs bedroom .

  • "What a wonderful cottage in a beautiful area."

The accommodation was gorgeous and was extremely well equipped. We found many opportunities for walking and the beaches were breathtaking. We did have lovely sunny weather. The local fish and chop shop was excellent and we ate in nearby restaurants which were very good. This cottage is a little gem. What a find! We will certainly be returning.

Lovely house but could be even better. Lacked the finishing touches.

  • "This was the perfect holiday house for two families."

The property was spotless and the beds so comfortable! It was peaceful and well located for beaches and beautiful scenery. The welcome treats were a lovely touch and much appreciated! It’s much bigger than it looks in the photos, plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 children. The only tiny things I would add would be hooks on the back of the bathroom doors - there is nowhere to hang damp towels! And as others have said, it would have been great to have a welcome book with information about nearby attractions etc. Honestly though it was brilliant and we absolutely loved our stay. Perfect!

  • "Contemporary, hi spec, comfortable accommodation with beautiful decor and furnishings in lovely surroundings."

Conveniently situated on the outskirts of Valley with shops, restaurants and takeaway. We were a party of 7 retirees from 4 households, and had a brilliant stay. However handrails should be fitted to the stairs, also the kitchen is very well equipped, but the fridge and oven are a bit small.

  • "I spent a lovely weekend at the cottage with family members."

7 of us in total. The cottage itself was beautiful and very bright with being open plan. Nice and homely and beds were so comfortable. Lovely area which was very peaceful and nice walks to go on nearby. We visited Trearddur Bay whilst we were there. Some nice restaurants close by and also supermarkets. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "The property wasn't easy to find onsite as it doesn't have a number and it was by elimination and looking at the property picture that helped us to find it."

There were no instructions or information about the property or the local area. For example there was no guidance on recycling or whether we were to remove all rubbish prior to leaving. We did find recylcling bins on site and used those. The ensuites in the upstairs rooms were not clean and we had to clean them ourselves prior to use. This is not something you want to do when staying somehwere for the weekend especially when you have paid a lot of money. The fridge is way too small. There were 5 of us for 3 nights and we struggled (how a family of 8 would manage for a week I don't know) and the shelf in the door fell off as soon as we put a carton of milk in it which made the situation worse. The bed in the upstairs king room had not been changed and we had to buy washing tablets and wash the bedding. The property itself is nice and it's a shame that these issues that could be easily addressed impacted our stay. I feel that we paid far too much for our experience. Especially with having to clean ensuites and wash bedding!

  • "The problems we had were that there were workmen on the site everyday."

Extremely noisy when we sat in the garden, gardeners, JCBs, diggers, electric drills. The gardener was using a petrol Strimmer around the garden whilst we sat out. This could have been done when we were out which was every day for at least half the day. On Thursday one of the workmen decided to fit the plate under the bifold door which was the only entrance, the banging was terrible and he asked no one stood on it. Surely we should have been told that it was a building site. Inside the property which was very nice but no bannister rail on the stairs which was very dangerous. All our party were between 75 and 82. The stairs were split into a three and a six but even so a bannister is a necessity. I have stayed approx five times in Sykes properties and this was the only time I have complained. It was not a peaceful quiet holiday because of the site not being finished. Unfair for the price. It is lacking certain things inside but we understood that if it had only just been set up as a holiday let that this would be understandable. Lack of kitchen utensils, colander, serving spoons, large cooking dishes, cutlery, hooks behind bedroom doors etc. I have always in the past been happy with Sykes but not this time unfortunately.
