  • "Photos online made the rooms look bigger than they actually are."

Bed was a bit too soft for us, but I got used to it. Well equipped cottage. Bath seemed a bit narrow at one end , would have been better to have the taps in the middle, so you could lay down at the wider end. Overall enjoyed the stay, owners were friendly and helpful. Would recommend staying there.

  • "The Hen House is well located for exploring the island of Anglesy ."

You don't have to spend lots of time to find hidden beachs or footpaths or historical sites. In fact there is something for everone and within easy reach of the cottage. The owner lives next door and is very warm and welcoming, and being a resident of the island she has a wealth of local knowledge should you need it or you can just do your own thing. In fact we did a mix of both, the only problem being our stay was to short ( 1 week ) so warrants a repeat visit if we can ( most holiday lets are booked solid due in part to covid ) at a later date.

Huge! Countryside views and watching the sunsets over Holyhead mountain through the open back door was lovely. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Gated country house with just 3 cottage units, tucked away down little lane. Walks from the door to the Inland Sea and beyond. Our third visit and hope for more!

  • "Our stay at the Hen House was excellent."

The cottage was so peacefully cosy and comfortable and well equipped even though only a 2 person accommodation. It was so clean and fresh and the bed was the best holiday bed we've ever had. Ursula, the owner , and her sister Lesley were so helpful to make our stay even better. Very conveniently situated for enjoying Anglesey and the village of Valley has lots of shops and eateries. I am sure we will return.

  • "It was a great stay!"

Very comfortable stay, very easy to find and a short drive to places nearby I.e Beaumaris and Conwy. Great views from the Hen house. It’s close to Spar store which had everything and also a great little restaurant called Catch 22, definitely check it out. Only recommendation is to have a small washing line outside to dry clothes if it’s windy. Just a note to bring extra towels with you.

  • "Had an amazing week."

Ursula made us feel very welcome and the place was clean, tidy, with fantastic views. Lovely secure place to stay and in a great area for exploring Anglesey, by car or bike. There are two cycle routes around Anglesey. Lots to see and do and we ate out one night at the local Catch 22. Had the fish platter for two, lots of lovely fish and very filling. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. Feels like your own personal cottage as not overlooked. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely walks also around the area as not far from the four mile bridge. We walked into Holyhead and then walked back through Trearddur Bay. Fishing we went to mackerel rock and also Moelfre, caught mackerel at both spots.

  • "The Hen House is a lovely cottage for two."

Very nicely equipped and furnished with a huge comfortable bed! We received a warm welcome and guided tour from owner Ursula on arrival. We loved the sunny, glass roofed sitting room looking out onto the fields - and the family of baby rabbits were an entertaining bonus! The cottage is well situated, with many lovely places within easy reach. We come to Anglesey most years for the beautiful coastal walks and bird life, and the Hen House is one of the best cottages we have had. Perfect for chilling out and we hope to return again.
