“Really lovely house - very spacious with everything you need.”
Nice garden and views that would be great in the summer. It is very rural down a private road so you have to drive everywhere but it is only a few minutes into Balloch where there are plenty of amenities. Parking in front of the house
Nice garden and views that would be great in the summer. It is very rural down a private road so you have to drive everywhere but it is only a few minutes into Balloch where there are plenty of amenities. Parking in front of the house- Mrs Inglis, October 2020
“Amazing place, beautiful location, secluded but amenities and surrounding locations within minutes either walking or driving.”
Will definitely return to Hall West, we loved it. Only criticism is there was no ice box for our cool goods. Thank you for the use of your lovely property.- Ms Luther, October 2020
“A very well appointed cottage in a fabulous location.”
Lots of home comforts and easily enough space for our party of six adults. Would recommend.- Mrs Bennett, August 2020
“Location was even better than expected, great views and a stone's throw from many walks and activities.”
House was bigger than expected (and incidentally, room for 2 cars in my opinion despite being advertised as 1, even with turning room at the foot of the drive). A few wrong details - told by Sykes email to get in touch with owners to arrange for cot, but house already contains a cot, high chair and stair gate. Also informed only 3gb of wifi available, but guest information folder stated it was unlimited.- Mrs Busby, October 2019
“Had a great time at The Hall West which was ideal for our party with the three bathrooms.”
Living and sleeping space excellent a couple of minor points the toilet brushes the handles kept falling off ,the shower attachment in the second bathroom was broken so we didn't use it and the water pressure in the downstairs shower was very low. Only small points but when your paying a premium these are little things that could have given what is a great property 10/10. None the less an ideal location with views towards the loch.- Mr Walker, May 2019
“It is a real home from home.”
The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome over the Christmas period!- Mr Mclaren, December 2018
“We enjoyed our week at the Hall West.”
It was clean, comfortable, warm and spacious with a well equipped kitchen. We came to explore the Arrochar Alps which are only 30 minutes down the road and the site proved ideal. Glasgow is not far away either by car or train. The WiFi proved adequate (best in the upstairs bedroom) and might benefit from a proper router. Another suggestion would be a couple of chairs in the upstairs bedroom.- Mr Barclay, September 2018
“The Hall West is in a stunning location on the edge of woodland, it is very peaceful and relaxing.”
The accommodation is spacious and well equipped. Lock Lomond Shores is nearby and accessible on foot or a few minutes drive away. Duck Bay gives wonderful views of Loch Lomond and here you can enjoy a drink or bite to eat. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.- Mrs Andrews, September 2017
“We had a fantastic week in the cottage and will definitely be booking another week for next year.”
It was well equipped, very clean and very spacious. The log burner is very cosy in the evening. The location is ideal as its tucked away in a quiet hamlet but only minutes away from all the amenities. There are lots of lovely restaurants nearby and lots of lovely little villages to visit. You certainly wouldn't get bored. You are also only 10 minutes drive to Dumbarton that has a huge Asda and big M&S food hall. Would highly recommend this cottage.- Mr Phillips, November 2016
“Perfect house, lovely location however we didin't have Internet connection ,which let us down with activities booking in advance.”- Menacer, October 2016

About the location
Helensburgh 8.5 miles; Glasgow 20 miles.
Known as the gateway to the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Balloch sits at the south end of Loch Lomond and is on the main road connecting Glasgow to the Western Highlands. Its popularity as a tourist town grew in the 19th century with the increasing number of boats arriving to tour the Loch, as well as foot passengers by rail from Glasgow. Today there are many boats that will tour the loch from Balloch including the elegant paddle steamer The Maid of The Loch. The Loch Lomond Shores shopping complex has a wide range of outlets and cafes and there is also an aquarium and Balloch Castle Country Park with its 200 acres of woodland. As well as the majestic loch, the surrounding scenery includes superb walking and cycling and Ben Lomond at 3196 feet is the most southerly of the Munros. Glasgow and Stirling are both within easy reach and provide a great day trip whether it’s to see castles, galleries or to indulge in superb shopping and dining.
