The property

Located down a short gravelled driveway, just outside of Kilcreggan in West Scotland, is the charming Rockcliffe Cottage.

This lovely property provides light, airy and extremely welcoming accommodation set across two floors, ideal for a romantic getaway with your partner to this peaceful location.

Be welcomed into an entrance hall with a small breakfast bar to enjoy a hearty breakfast before beginning your day, or planning the day's events.

From here, step into the sitting room with a woodburning stove taking centre stage, tucked away in a large wooden inglenook fireplace.

Take a seat on one of the plush armchairs with a bowl of popcorn and wile away the hours with a blockbuster movie.

Walk through to the kitchen which comes fully stocked with all the necessary appliances needed to cook up a storm and benefitting from a dishwasher so you barely have to lift a finger to wash up!

Completing the ground floor is a bathroom – fitted with an elegant bath and shower over so you can enjoy a long soak after a tiring day.

Follow the steps up to the first floor where a large double bedroom greets you; curl up under the covers and choose to enjoy your favourite shows before venturing downstairs to begin your day.

Next to this room is a walk-in dressing room which leads into a further shower room for your convenience.

To the front of the cottage is a lawned garden and decking area, perfect for dining alfresco during the summer months; or take a cup of tea into the summerhouse and let the woodburning stove keep the room nice and warm as you indulge in a good book.

Situated on the southern tip of the Rosneath Peninsula, this coastal village is well placed alongside Kilcreggan Bay and boasts a selection of historical houses, pubs, restaurants and a convenience store for picking up all the essentials.

This peninsula is rich with mountain scenery and would be the perfect base for those seeking some mountain biking opportunities as well as hiking in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, with stunning views of the loch and a wide range of hiking experience levels on each trek.

The area is also ideal for long coastal walks and cycling; or if you enjoy a walk around a walled garden, take a drive towards the Glen Arn Gardens, Hermitage Park and the Linn Botanic Gardens.

Rockcliffe Cottage is the ultimate choice for a romantic break to this beautiful part of Scotland.

About the location

KILCREGGAN

Garelochhead 8 miles, Helensburgh 15 miles, Loch Lomond 19 miles.

Sitting at the southern tip of the Rosneath Peninsula, Kilcreggan is host to a collection of impressive houses dating from the days when many wealthy Glasgow merchants had summer homes away from the city, and the popularity of the steamship allowed easy access from the southern shore of the Clyde estuary. The pier at Kilcreggan is the only remaining Victorian pier on the Clyde and is still in use, with a passenger ferry crossing the river to Gourock. There are a number of local shops and cafes in the village and also a few miles along the coast in Rosneath, while the nearby village of Cove is home to the spectacular Linn Botanic Gardens. The peninsula boasts spectacular mountain scenery with excellent woodland and coastal walking and cycling. There are several options for dining out on the peninsula, including the Kilcreggan Hotel, with a larger selection in the Helensburgh area, including pubs, takeaways and cafes.
