  • "We spent the most wonderful Christmas at Haven House."

A perfect location with the best of view despite the raging storm. The kitchen is very well equipped to prepare and cook for large numbers. Lots of space too in the beautifully furnished open plan cosy living/dining area. The wonderful games room downstairs was used each day by us all from age 94 down. Thank you Tim for the fantastic hamper. We all had such a happy, relaxed Christmas. Thank you too to Sarah. Happy New year when it comes.

Thank you Arthur, that is very much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing week staying in Haven House."

The house is cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a weeks holiday. The view over the water is incredible! The paddle boards and bikes were a great addition. Tim and Sarah were both great. Communication was easy and they ensured we had everything we needed (even during a power-cut due to a storm). Couldn’t recommend Haven House enough!

  • "A wonderful holiday house - elegant, spacious and comfortable with everything you could want."

It has wonderful views and is in a fascinating area. It has a well fitted kitchen with all the utensils you might need.We made use of the mountain bikes and paddle boards. It has a snooker/table tennis table . Next door it has a pub - it has somewhat erratic opening times but does a good pub meal and is very welcoming. I cannot imagine a better place for a family holiday - for all ages ( we had two toddlers and an infant with us). I have no hesitation recommending it.

  • "The house was beautiful and fitted in well with the village look despite looking so modern in the photos."

It is very spacious and comfortable with so many extra touches to make the stay even better. And the location is fabulous. Lovely view with some entertainment watching the harbour, a trip down the stairs takes you to the water and to lovely local walks. And a beautiful drive to the location!

  • "An absolutely amazing place."

The house is beautifully equipped with everything you could possibly need and so much space to enjoy. The games room in particular was a big hit with young and old. Craobh Haven is an excellent base for exploring (there are even bikes you can borrow!) and having the Lord of the Isles pub next door serving delicious food was an added bonus. We booked for a special birthday and Haven House exceeded our expectations in every way. The owners have thought very carefully about what their guests would need and appreciate. Thank you! Would highly recommend.

  • "What a truly unique and stunning 5 star luxurious home."

The views are breathtaking and watching the ever changing weather from the expansive windows was mesmerising. Very spacious for a multi generational gathering. Gorgeous large living area, great games room, beautifully kitted out, very comfy beds, fluffy towels, cosy warm house. The kitchen coped exceedingly well with all the pressures that come with Christmas catering. This property exceeds expectations on every level, a special place indeed!

About the location

LOCHGILPHEAD

Kilmartin Glen 5 miles; Crinan 7 miles; Kilmartin 8.5 miles; Inveraray 24 miles; Oban 37 miles

Located at the top end of Loch Gilp, which opens from the much larger Loch Fyne, the town of Lochgilphead was originally designed as a planned town. Founded towards the end of the 18th century and following on from the opening of the road from Inverary to Campbeltown, Lochgilphead grew and developed after the nearby Crinan Canal was opened, thus improving connectivity across the peninsula. Today Lochgilphead is a popular tourist spot with a variety of shops, cafes and bars. The surrounding scenery on all sides is beautiful and there are many scenic drives to be had to Inverary with its jail and castle and Crinan with the famous canal. Kilmartin Glen is one of Scotland richest landscapes with over 800 historic monuments, cairns, standing stones and circles, and rock art dating back over 5000 years! Visit the Kilmartin museum, an internationally acclaimed archaeology museum and uncover the area's mesmerising history. Lochgilphead and the surrounding area also play host to many festivals throughout the year and whether your preference is for music, food or Highland games, there will be something for everyone here.
