  • "Lovely cottage, very peaceful surroundings but not too remote."

Lovely comfy beds and airy light rooms. Well equipped cottage with everything you need. Dishwasher door has issue and shuts like arkwright's till in open all hour's, constant source of amusement when shutting it! Back garden overlooks the Loch where we saw eagles, seals, otters, and lots of birds, boats going by etc. Extremely beautiful setting with dark skies at night, so be prepared to go out and look at them, really amazing. House nice and warm with extra heating if need be. Really solid rustic dinning table to enjoy meals whilst over looking the Loch. Good fridge freezer. Deep bath, shower not a power shower but adequate, as water comes straight of the mountain. Comfortable settees and dads and games. Plenty of lighting too. DELIGHTFUL holiday, and Oban a few miles up the road. The loch it tidal and opens out into the sea at the Connell bridge. Plenty to see and do roundabout. We can really recommend this lovely place and will no doubt be rebooking. Downside only that we asked for two doubles but did not get them, and got twin and a double instead despite contacting owner before. Internet OK. Tv needs connecting to WiFi and Dyson cleaner did not work at all.also curtains in twin room are not attached to wall properly so they need fixing as they come off when you try to draw them. These are minor things the owner should address urgently.

  • "The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything provided."

The views over the loch are wonderful & we loved watching all the boats! We felt however that the cottage needed a bit of love. There was no information about the area provided which can make a huge difference. Also the bedrooms are advertised as kink size & superking but in fact it is a king & a twin, the owner has noted that if you want a superking to phone her 24 before arrival but you don’t see this till you arrive??? We were very disappointed as the twin room was brighter & airier! So overall we were a bit underwhelmed.

  • "A great location for a relaxing week away."

This was our first venture into the world since lockdown and we didn’t plan on going many places so it was the perfect location. If I was going again I’d take a supply of DVDs and books as TV reception was poor and WiFi was intermittent. Fantastic view though and we had ‘seal watch’ every day.

  • "Fantastic cottage in great location."

Peaceful location with stunning views over Loch Etive. Lots of wildlife. Was able to watch seals playing every day from our window. Cottage very clean and very well equipped. There was nothing we needed that was not there . Plenty of DVD's and games to keep kids amused .A few repairs needing done but nothing major that affected our holiday . We were sorry to leave and would definitely recommend this cottage and indeed we will be rebooking at some point in the future .

It was our third time at Erra loch and each time we visit we love it but noticed this time it needed a little TLC although very remote it is set on a little housing estate but is very quiet and the neighbours are very friendly saw otters in the loch below and seals everything you need for a quiet Scottish holiday it is quite a long drive back to the main road but a beautiful drive about 20mins that is to any restaurants etc if you want nightlife not the one for you

  • "Reluctantly heading back home after a wonderful stay in a delightful cottage overlooking the loch."

A lovely welcome pack making all the difference after a long drive. Stunning scenery and very fortunate to be visited by a family of otters, a golden eagle and fly past of a sea eagle! This cottage is in easy distance of Ben Nevis of which we were fortunate to summit due fo mild temperatures. Really couldn't fault our stay and would highly recommend to those looking for a truly relaxing break. Don't forget to pack your binoculars!

As for the boat fishing Doug at TFC Boats at Tynuilt sorted us out was perfect £100 for selfdrive boat 8am to 5pm fuel included. Now as for Sykes cottages well done they found me the best holiday i couldn't have asked for any better THANKS SYKES. From Mr Roy Kerrigan.

  • "We had a fabulous holiday at Erra Loch, the weather was superb, and in general the accommodation was very good, the only things I would point out was the lawn was not mowed which was disappointing , there was no excuse for not cutting as the weather was so good, and on the Wednesday the television remote stopped working so we couldn't watch television, we left a note for the owner."

That said it is a beautiful place to stay.

  • "A small but perfectly situated cottage which is modern, clean and well equipped."

The views were stunning with snow capped hills and seals in the water at the end of the garden. The surrounding neighbours were helpful and friendly. The one criticism I would mention is the lack of control over the heating system, although there are alternative sources of heat. It would have been nice to have had the radiators on when we wanted to.

It was a bit of a drive to get to it, but well worth the journey. The beauty of the whole place was breathtaking with the mountains at the front and the Loch to the rear. There was lots of opportunities for walking in the area and a shortish drive to Oban to restock on food etc. The Cottage was immaculate and it had all the facilities necessary for a break away. Lots of DVDs for the quiet night in and a nice selection of games in the upstairs bedroom.

  • "Thought we should have known there were other cottages in the Culde sac, the photo only showed the two together, so that was a bit deceiving."

The cottage was basic, but very clean and comfortable. There were not any cleaning products for cleaning the bathroom or kitchen, something that might be worth thinking about.

It was deceptively spacious and the view from the windows and garden was spectacular. We were lucky enough to watch otters playing at night outside the window and the opportunity to take our Kayaks and paddled on the Loch was fantastic. We loved the location, the locals and the view. The winding road leading to the house ran alongside the Loch which meant we had to keep stopping to admire the views of water surrounded by snow capped mountains. The house itself was excellent, very warm, clean and well furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and hope to go back soon.
