Lovely house very clean quiet location good welcome pack the road in has great scenery but very twisty we took the service road instead which was quicker and well maintained we only met two lorries Reviewed by LindaMay 2022 "An unexpected, short notice booking by myself at Sonas following my husband becoming seriously ill whilst we were on the Isle of Mull, resulting in him being air-lifted to Oban hospital." I can only say what a lovely welcome I received on arrival at the cottage - from the card with lovely words to the flowers and chocolates and excellent food hamper. I was really touched by the thoughts, consideration and good will provided. The location provided a lovely peaceful, scenic area and as he was able to return later in the week we were able to enjoy the recuperation and cosy, comfortable cottage until our return journey. The super sized beds were brilliant and the sky package a useful bonus .A lovely area for a holiday and the views were beautiful when journeying to/from the cottage. Walks are on the doorstep - lochside and mountains with wildlife in abundance. We found the people nearby very friendly and welcoming and would love to return for a proper holiday one day. Thank you for our stay. Reviewed by KathleenMar 2022 "Very comfortable and very peaceful cottage." On arrival found the welcome pack was very thoughtful, plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk in the fridge. There cereal, bread and butter as well as jam and orange juice, so breakfast was sorted for the morning after arriving. The only down side about the whole property was the oven didn't seem to heat up very well and the s took longer to cook things in it. But aside from that everything else was perfect. Reviewed by AnnNov 2021 "We had an amazing week, the cottage had everything and very clean, and the welcome pack for us and the dog biscuits was much appreciated a lovely touch from the owner this as to be the best place we have stayed , very dog friendly." , with lovely walks around the loch with amazing views all round...will certainly be back Reviewed by SharonOct 2021 "On arrival at the property we were disappointed to find it was not secluded but based on a small estate." The cottage itself was very good clean and warm, but the beds were very hard and this is something you should let people know. In the description it implies the bench in the front garden has views, but it only overlooks house's, and the view from the back garden overlooks a tree filled hillside so not the views expressed. The property is reached by a really good drive along the loch, but from the cottage to the main road is 9 miles and the distance to Oban is further than stated. Looking at the photo's it seems to suggest that there were views of the loch from the cottage, but there were some none. Reviewed by TimOct 2021 "The owners provided a great welcome pack far exceeding anything we’ve experienced before." Lots of little extras in the accommodation that made it a home away from home. It is a good way down a single track road but the scenery on the drive down made it worthwhile.. Reviewed by AlisonOct 2021 "We really loved our holiday at Sonas3, September weather was mostly lovely, the Cottage was fabulous, all the facilities you would ever need, exceptionally clean and we were overwhelmed with our welcome package." We could not have asked for anything more. Reviewed by HeatherSep 2021 "The whole cottage was wonderful." We arrived late after a very long drive and was very pleasantly surprised to find the welcome pack of milk, bread and cereals, jams... too many to list, including treats for our little dog. The kitchen was very well equipped, the living room was comfy and cosy and the extras for our little furry family member were very useful, towel and bed, he loved them all and made himself right at home. The location, although a fair distance from the main road into Oban, was beautiful and peaceful, we saw otters one morning and plenty of birds, including a very large bird of prey which looked like an eagle but I was driving so couldn’t be sure. I can’t recommend this enough, we can’t wait to come back. Thankyou for a wonderful stay. Reviewed by GemmaJul 2021 "The beds mattress are to firm, I ended up sleeping on the sofa , but apart from that , it was a lovely cottage." Reviewed by CarolineJul 2021 "This was our third stay at Sonas and it didn’t disappoint us." Location is idyllic and neighbours are lovely. Sufficiently close to the loch to sit there and meditate yet far from the madding crowd. It’s also close enough to Oban to pick up supplies. There’s a bus service if you want to leave the car for a day. We managed to explore the upper reaches of Loch Etive though it’s a 50 mile drive via Glencoe to get there. We haven’t established if there’s a useable footpath up there yet. The rhododendrons locally were beautiful and we explored some of the area’s industrial heritage with the ferry, quarry and the iron furnace over at Tainault. We will be back again! Reviewed by DavidMay 2021 "We were delighted with the accommodation - especially the welcome pack and also the facilities for our dog!" Also, it was situated in beautiful area. The only things we would mention are: the bed was VERY hard, and, the fact that the cottage was approximately 8 miles along a single track road (this wasn't mentioned in your description). However, we were very grateful to get this accommodation as our original booking had to be changed due to the owner of that particular cottage withdrawing it shortly before we were due to come on holiday! Reviewed by AllanMay 2021 "The house was beautifully located and perfectly equipped." The welcome drink and food were greatly appreciated Reviewed by AntonioOct 2020 "Very good experience and owner provided everything she could and more!" TV in lounge a bit difficult to get to grips with and also not sure where to put your general rubbish (ie anything that was not recyclable. Thought we would have Loch views but on the whole very very good! The house was spotless and had everything we could need and more - the welcome basket was a lovely surprise too. Would definitely recommend! Reviewed by MatthewJul 2020 "Absolutely lovely home." All the amenities you could want there- a range of kitchenware, cleaning products, dishwasher, washer, dryer, range of games, great TV, DVDs and helpful books/info for things to do in the area. Comfortable stay- super clean and super pet friendly. Even had nightlights to help get around. Great shower and bath facilities. Lovely location- far enough away from the town but not a massive trek to get your essentials. So much wildlife all around. Would love to return and will be telling my family and friends who I know would love the property. Reviewed by GarethFeb 2020 "Amazing cottage with everything you need provided."
