  • "Lodge was lovely, comfortable."

Plenty of space for 4 adults. The main bathroom would benefit from an upgrade, especially the bath, which creaked when stood having a shower. but was clean.

  • "We had a great time at Brunston Castle lodges, the lodge was amazing, very clean, tidy and cosy, lot of space and very comfortable, the booking, checking in and communication was very good and professional."

We personally did not use dishwasher as we don't have at home. There was no washing machine but this was not an issue. Thank you for lovely, great lodge at Brunston Castle, we will definitely be making a return in the future.

  • "The check in/out times given by Sykes differ from the receptions book in/out times."

Arrived at 15:20 as Sykes listed book in time at 15:00 was refused entry till 16:00. Not good when you’ve travelled 300 miles! Also Sykes say contact owner for key details, actually it is run by Hoseasons who require you to contact them. This caused a bit of confusion. I would suggest Sykes makes it known when booking this is a Hoseasons Complex, there was no mention of the site facilities and no mention of whether as a private guest we could use them, and given the attitude of reception on our arrival, I thought discretion was best utilised by not engaging with them during our stay,

About the location

DAILLY

Ayr 16 miles.

Located on the Water of Girvan in South Ayrshire, Dailly, or ‘New Dailly’ to distinguish it from ‘Old Dailly’, was developed in the mid 18th-century as a coal mining village. The ruins of the Robert Adam-designed Dalquharran Castle stand on a hill overlooking the village. The ruined church at Old Dailly dates from pre-Reformation times, and houses the mysterious Blue Stones; thought to be Charter Stones, ancient symbols granted to an area in place of a written charter, several legends have grown up around them. One holds they were Sanctuary Stones and would protect anyone sitting against them, and another belief is that their mystical powers would bring good fortune to anyone touching them. The village of Dailly today has a pub, shop and post office and the series of Dailly Trails make for ideal walking, forming part of the Carrick Way. Dailly’s proximity to the Ayrshire coast makes it an ideal venue for exploring the many golf courses, beaches and castles, including spectacular Culzean Castle, and with the Galloway Forest Park nearby and its many walks and cycle rides, this is a great location to use as a base for touring.
