  • "Fabulous cottage."

We loved the furniture and quirky layout of the inside. We spent every morning and evening sitting on the balcony overlooking the brook. Great location for the coast and islands as well as hiking on the hills we could see from the kitchen window. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Thank you for your fantastic feedback. I'm delighted you enjoyed your time at Clover Neuk and hope to welcome you back again soon :-) Property Owner

  • "Thank you for letting us share your lovely property for a few days."

We loved every night in the Snug, even though we struggled to get up! The terrace with the babbling brook was lovely and peaceful. Nothing negative to say, except maybe parking away from the property. We had meals on 2 evenings at the Village pub where the food was very good and the hosts welcoming, so would recommend. Would also recommend the local Kelburn Castle, lovely place to visit and only £5 A nice base for trips to Arran, Largs and Loch Lomond

Thank you for your lovely feedback, I’m delighted that you loved the cottage and your time in Fairlie. Hope to welcome you back in the future Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautiful."

A real homely feeling. Everything was provided and even a bottle of Proseco was waiting for us as a welcome. The neighbours at 34 the adjoining house Andy & Nicola were really friendly and made us feel like part of the village. They gave us lots of Information about the surrounding area and we did not want to leave at the end of our holiday. Fairlie is right on the coat and about 100 Metres from the cottage down a twitchel was the Firth of Forth. Absolutely beautiful spot and a great pub called the Village Inn run by Brian and it serves great food an a lovely village community. At the cottage we had a lovely decking alongside a stream and it was great to sit out and listen to it trickling over the stones. We had a fantastic time in Scotland and visited The Kelpies The Falkirk Wheel and Loch Lomond. We got the train from Fairllie to Glasgow and Edinburgh. The station was a five minute walk from the cottage. Also visit largs which is about 4 miles by car but you can also go by train.Visit Cumdrae on the Ferry and go to Millport and also Bute We just had a great time and enjoyed it all.

Many thanks for your review and I'm delighted to read that you enjoyed the space at Clover Neuk! It would be great if you wanted to provide further feedback on the 88/100 as I would be happy to make improvements on the comfort and facilities and Maintenace. • "The property was unsuitable for pensioners, with uneven stairs, and no banister."

The living/sitting room was miniscule with beanbags instead of chairs/sofa. The TV didn't have the normal channels or Sky, with only Netflix or old news to watch. Although soft lighting is pleasant to the eye in the sitting room and bedroom, a stronger central light would have been preferable. Most of your properties have 6 or more photos of all rooms, Clover Neuk had only one of the outside, not good enough. Although Fairlie, Largs & surrounding area was most enjoyable with the best of weather, we will not be recommending the property to friends and relations. £600 + was extortionate for a week to be forgotten. We will not be booking any more Sykes holidays.

I’m very disappointed to read your review, particularly as the photos of the property show the layout and beanbags in the snug. The description also states:- Note: No terrestrial TV channels, Netflix only Note: Due to the layout of the cottage it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your time at Clover Neuk, and would suggest taking to time to read the full description of a property to make sure it’s suitable for you and your party before booking in future. • "Lovely home very relaxing and modern and beautiful."

Few little minders , several plates and bowls still dirty with pieces of food still on it , dogs toilet outside to left of door , dirty sponge to clean the dishes with sadly , and on first night there was a lot of noise with people up at the window speaking loudly about things , wouldn’t have minded if we were told people were going to be there but overall lovely

  • "No complaints about the property at all."

I had to curtail my hokiday due to family bereavement. Tried to contact the travel insurance that Sykes recommended at the time of booking. Their website and weblink listed on their policy docs is unobtainable, I emailed and they have not got back to me nor have they acknowledged receipt of my email. Tried to contact Sykes via chat, wrote a polite message on chat and when that was sent, the chat said it was closed and to try again. I would like Sykes to now tell me via email how how I claim for the curtailment from a company they recommended at the booking stage. Thank you, Lesley

  • "A delightful cottage, very relaxing."

The outside decking is the icing on the cake - a lovely place to sit listening to the murmur of the burn. And it's a real suntrap! There's not a lot of room for two people to be in the kitchen at once but we learned to adapt. Ideal for those like us who don't have a car with the railway station just up the road and a bus stop outside the gate.

  • "Lovely little cottage for the most part, the deck with the little stream is especially relaxing."

However I went there to work on a project and the internet connection was terrible, cut out every 10 minutes or so and made it really hard to get anything done. Definitely recommended for a break but not if you need the net.

Thanks so much for your feedback, although I'm sorry that the broadband wasn't good when you were there. It's usually around 14 MBps even at peak time and I've managed to work up there ok, although perhaps I don't work as hard as you! Thanks for letting me know though- I'll check in with Plusnet to see if any improvements can be made. Hopefully you'll be returning to the cottage for a wee break in the future! BW x Property Owner

  • "Wow this place is gorgeous, a lovely small cottage with everything you could wish for."

It was immaculately clean and I loved all the fairy lights everywhere. I suppose one of the negatives is walking through someone else garden to get to it but its worth doing. The bedding towels etc were all beautiful . I think one thing that would be great would be some type of cordless vacuum somewhere ( a Dyson type) so you can keep the clean and tidy as it is when you arrive? Other than that we will definitely be back at this stunning little cottage

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and suggestion, I'm delighted you soaked in all the cosy cottage vibes during your stay! I honestly don't expect guests to clean while they are there, although it is always gratefully received and I'll look into another wee cordless type hoover! Look forward to welcoming you back here in the near future! BW x Property Owner

Loved all the little lights, it was like home from home! • "The accommodation exceeded our expectation in every way."

The cottage was extremely well designed - every space was cleverly utilised, the whole place was in immaculate condition, and every amenity you could think of was provided. The only two negative points would be the parking arrangements (having to park in the adjacent street, and the pavement outside the house isn’t very wide or well lit) and the dogs owned by the inhabitants of the main cottage - the windows in the cottage aren’t very soundproof so we could hear the dogs barking when they were outside, and had to be careful and make sure we didn’t stand in any dog mess when we were leaving and entering the property. All in all we were delighted with our stay, it was most comfortable and excellent value.

Thank you so much for your great feedback, I'm so happy you had a great time, although I'm sorry that the dogs were a bit barky! The windows are normally left slightly open to let some air circulate in the cottage, so that may have contributed too! I hope that won't put you off from returning again in the future, I'd be delighted to welcome you here again. BW x Property Owner
