    “Cosy cottage - good location”

Heatherbank is a lovely cottage set in woodland about 15 minutes walk from Garelochead village The last 100 yards or so to access the cottage is along a forest road. The road is badly potholed in parts but drive slowly and you'll be fine. The cottage itself is very warm and cosy Both main rooms have dual aspect so are bright and airy The gardens and (large) decking area with hot tub are lovely and (being to one side of the cottage) are very secluded. The road is badly potholed in parts but drive slowly and you'll be fine. The cottage itself is very warm and cosy Both main rooms have dual aspect so are bright and airy The gardens and (large) decking area with hot tub are lovely and (being to one side of the cottage) are very secluded. Garelochead has two mini markets, a chinese takeaway, cafe and a pub (the Anchor Inn) which is a friendly pub with good food. There is a local bus service which runs ever half hour or so into Helensburgh (20 mins) We had a very relaxing stay and would highly reccomend the cottage

The property

This is a charming, fully refurbished traditional cottage, ideally located on the rural edges of Garelochhead in Scotland's beautiful Argyllshire.

Restyled inside to provide contemporary accommodation, this cottage is ideal for a couple to use as a base for exploring the many hills and lochs that surround the village.

Set all on the ground floor, the cottage has a roomy double bedroom, a shower room, a kitchen with a dining area and a relaxing sitting room.

About the location

GARELOCHHEAD

Helensburgh 7 miles; Loch Lomond 11 miles; Glasgow 30 miles.

The village of Garelochhead developed as a tourist resort with the steamer sailings from Glasgow from the 1820s, and then further with the arrival of the West Highland Line to Fort William. Sitting at the head of the Gare Loch, a sea loch running into the River Clyde at its southern end, the village offers a selection of pubs and shops. The loch itself is ideal for sailing and sea angling and is home to Faslane Naval Base and its associated peace camp. Surrounding the village are many Munros (mountains over 3000ft) and the surrounding hillsides are popular with walkers throughout the year. With Loch Lomond only a short drive away, with its beautiful scenery and renowned golf courses, Garelochhead is an ideal base to explore this dramatic and scenic part of the country.
