We had a really good week here in this lovely house. It was very welcoming on our arrival with the lights on making it warm and inviting. Little touches like milk in the fridge and Prosecco were appreciated. We had our family with us for the weekend and it was a great space for six adults a toddler and our spaniel! Everyone said the beds were warm and comfortable and the garden is enclosed, so easy for children and dogs. Great utility area for boots and coats . We used the wood burner one evening but found it got too hot! Our family like to cook and the kitchen is well stocked and user friendly. The village is spread out but we were lucky with great weather and walked as much as we could. There is a lovely community park which our granddaughter enjoyed and the shop and pub are nearby. You can walk to the pier and take a ferry to Mull if you want to explore further. We explored the beaches Sanna and Kilmory and the nearby shore....just perfect for a quiet week away at this time of year. Worth the journey on the single track roads and saw several groups of red deer with a magnificent stag at the roadside on the way home. Would love to go back.

About the location

Tobermory 7 miles (via ferry).

The pretty village of Kilchoan is the most westerly village in mainland Britain, situated on the stunning Ardnamurchan Peninsula and surrounded by magnificent mountains and breathtaking coastal views. The area close to Kilchoan offers a choice of quiet sandy beaches and an abundance of wildlife with eagles regularly spotted overhead. Until 1900 the village was only accessible by sea, but now access is via a single track road that leads through some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The village has good local services including a shop, pub, restaurant and community centre. From Mingary Pier there is a regular ferry service across the Sound of Mull to Tobermory which gives the opportunity to explore the islands of Mull and Iona. There are wildlife excursions on land and sea and the new Ardnamurchan Distillery and Natural History Centre are added attractions. A short drive away is Ardnamurchan Point complete with its own lighthouse and visitor centre which is well worth a visit, or perhaps you simply want to sit on the glorious Sanna Beach and enjoy the views across the clear blue sea to the islands of Muck, Eigg and Rum?
