  • "The arrival already felt like coming home."

Furniture, mattresses and the pool had been renewed or replaced since our last stay. Gordon and Caraid did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Furthermore, every effort was made to minimise any disruption caused by a severe storm. You can't expect or receive more friendliness, help and support. We are already looking forward to our next stay with friends.

  • "We loved the property and it’s location."

We knew about the lack of internet prior to our arrival. Compensated, not a great problem. A little annoyed that Skye was intermittent. With horrendous weather no internet, Skye was essential (rugby World Cup) ! Loosing signal 3 / 4 times a day was annoying. Everything else was great. The cottage is perfect in all other aspects. Once the afore mentioned problems are resolved, it warrants a return visit.

Brief issue with no hot water first morning but rectified by local caretaker ("somebody" had turned off the boiler) Could not get the TV to work. Caretaker fixed it on day 1 but it went south again almost immediately and we couldn't be bothered bringing the caretaker back. otherwise all good and would certainly return.

Maybe better signpost outside cottage or earlier arrival time in the winter? Kitchen was amazing have never seen anything like it had everything you need and more! King size bed in second bedroom was hard. Hot tub further away than I have experienced before take flip flops! And robes! Place was beautiful can't fault it really and would return.

Wonderful hot-tub :) Great location for Oban, which we loved. Also being able to easily go further afield - we loved our trip to Kerrera island. All helped by the most fantastic weather.

  • "A very comfortable and spacious house in a wonderful location - easy to get to Oban and the nearby countryside, yet away from the tourists in such very peaceful and green surroundings- there was no farm machinery/traffic noise."

Hot tub much appreciated. Gordon was very welcoming and the directions sent were easy to follow. I'd happily stay here again. 2 bathrooms was a bonus (I got my own shower upstairs as the only person under 5 foot 4 - that ceiling is rather low, but the downstairs shower is spacious and fits everybody) It would be useful to have some instructions for the oven (I had to google it to work out which knob was which) and TV/sound system took some working out. The wifi code is well hidden (but couldn't defeat our teenagers). The wifi coped with boys and husband all on their laptops - which I was impressed with given we were out in the countryside. The kitchen is well equipped but could do with some small side plates and a bread board/2nd bigger chopping board. This house came top in our family competition to find the best equipped kitchen in a holiday cottage - beating Jersey where we stayed last year by having a pizza cutter...

  • "Only issue, and it is a common one in a lot of places, is the mattress in the smaller double bedroom, so much so that one of us slept in one of the single rooms."

Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house, facilities and gardens were fantastic.

  • "Whilst picturesque & well equipped, as mentioned by other visitors, there is a need for a general update, as things feel dated."

Some like the single bed mattresses, dirty shower curtain & comically creaking floor boards - need to be a priority and even basics like a property information/instruction book might avoid some frustration. Overall the property layout which offers poor ‘flow’ and easy access to the outside combined with some ‘misses’ like the lack of a dryer - especially in a property with no ‘wet room’- are hard to change and even the ‘brown’ house water might deter some. Sorry but in a market with so many choices - Wouldn’t stay here again.

  • "Excellent property, lots of space for an extended family (2 teens, 2 parents & 2 grandparents in our case)."

Extremely clean & plenty of everything, from cutlery & cooking pans to towels & toilet paper. Wonderful location with extensive grounds, a private hot tub & access to the river which we did have a dip in! Lots to do in the local area - Oban has everything you need & lots of shops, cafes & restaurants (recommend the Potting Shed especially if you are GF). Ganavan Sands is a beautiful beach, Dunstaffnage Castle is a small but fascinating castle with spectacular views & McCaig's Tower is worth the steep climb. Amazing ice cream in the Pokey Hat too! Further afield Seafari boat trips & Easdale are both excellent as are the cairns & burial mounds at Kilmartin. A great base for the area & a bonus feature was the company of Gordon's dogs who are friendly & happy to chase balls all day!

  • "Glen Euchar House is set in an idyllic glen with the river Euchar flowing at the bottom of the garden."

It is secluded and tranquil; however Tesco deliver which certainly eases the stress after a long drive from Yorkshire. The kitchen is superbly designed and fully equipped; with the exception of possibly a couple of chopping boards; this is a minor niggle as I honestly thought that I had died and gone to kitchen heaven. Prepping food was a pleasure, the dishwasher was great too as was the washer. Drying was more of a chore and a tumble dryer would be appreciated due to the wet weather we encountered. Locally Oban is only 15 minutes drive away and you have Tesco, Aldi and Lidl to shop at. We did not eat out as I was far too busy cooking in that amazing kitchen!! If you intend going to Mull book in advance as we could not get on with the car; also if you wish to go dolphin watching book in advance too as we were disappointed not to be able to go. The leather suite in the lounge is beginning to look a little tired and the electric recliners did not work. It is still comfortable however and the chair reclines manually. The TV and surround sound are great. The WiFi is useable but only around 6Mbps so dont expect too much. Also the BT home Hub 4 needs updating as it does not cover the whole house with black spots with no signal. The master bedroom floor creaks alarmingly on occasion and going to the Loo in the middle of the night is not a quiet affair!! The hot tub is great with room for 4 in perfect comfort, like some aspects of the house it is looking a little tired cosmetically; however works fine and is luxurious! NB The hot tub is not close to the house and is 2 minutes walk across the lawn and down a few steps; which is not a problem; but would be better closer to the house in my opinion. Gordon (Estate Manager) was excellent and although about the estate daily was not intrusive on our tranquillity. In summary: Fab accommodation in a lovely Glen in Scotland. Totally recommended

The house felt spacious for 5 people (Mum and Dad and 3 teenagers) and there is lots of space and never felt cramped which is important to us with 3 teenagers! The kitchen is excellent and had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner. Set in 18 acres of ground with resident Stag. Be aware that there are no local restaurants. Oban is 9 miles away. The house is extremely well equipped. If I am being picky there are just one or two issues which could be improved. The bed linen is looking a bit worn and could have done with ironing. The lounge suite is also looking tired.
