  • "We had a brilliant time at the cabin."

It was very cosy and for the most part clean as you could expect from a small cabin in the woods. Only critic would be the lack of storage, okay for a few days but any longer would have become very uncomfortable. I would suggest putting all the game in a trunk under the bed and turming the cupboard into a hanging wardrobe. Gordon was great and always at the end of the phone when needed. Hot tub was very welcome afterlong days site seeing. Would not hesitate to stay again and highly reccommend. Many many thanks.

It is so tranquil. The hot tub is amazing & great to chill in & the cabin itself is so cozy with the wood burner. The only constructive criticism is regarding lack of any place to store your clothes. There’s no wardrobe or bedside cabinet/drawer. There is a cupboard but it has games in it. There’s space for drawers to be proved under the bed. We lived out of a small suitcase & bag for 3 days. Other than that we loved it & would definitely come back.

A new bed since last year which was great but meant you lost a drawer under the bed for storage, so a little short on places to unpack clothes. It's a lovely comfortable cabin and although close to a road, it feels like you are in secluded spot. The hot tub is amazing, lovely to relax in after a day out. Plenty of places to visit nearby and some stunning scenery. We had no issues but know that Gordon is only a phone call away, and we often saw him busy in the surroundings. The shower is great and decent wifi with DVDs, games etc to use if needed. Definitely recommend.

The cabin is in an excellent spot, close enough to Oban for cafes and shops etc. But far enough out to be away from all the hustle & bustle and able to enjoy the views, we had excellent weather! • "We loved our stay at this gorgeous cabin in the woods."

Considering it's a wooden cabin it was very clean, the cleaner does an amazing job, even the random metal and glass shelving unit hung high up on the wall was clean. Couple of water stains on some walls as mentioned in a previous review, but we thought that was to be expected, it is a wooden cabin in the woods, in Scotland, where there us a lot of rain after all, but even with them it was clean. We read a few negative reviews about the bed, and on getting in it on the first night, we thought this is a bit creaky and much too soft, but we had a week of some of the best nights sleep ever. The kitchen is very well stocked with all you could need. There are DVDs , books and games there if needed, we didn't use them, but seemed a decent selection. We were lucky with the weather so didn't need the heating or log fire, but it's there if needed. The hot tub is fabulous, a lovely place to chill out in. The brown water takes some getting used to , we ended up buying bottled for drinking and cooking because it's so off putting, even though we knew it gets tested. Lovely views all around and a couple of bird feeders outside kitchen window, that I kept topped up with seed, so had some lovely visitors, Robin's, wrens, coal and blue tits, and quite a few chaffinches. Gordon was friendly and helpful and at the end of the phone if needed, with the added bonus of a couple of lovely dogs that visited and went straight in the pond in front of the cabin. There is a road near the cabin as mentioned in a few reviews, but we can honestly say it didn't bother us in the least, you get used to the traffic noise, and you cant see it except for occasional flashes of the tops of cars through the trees at the side of the cabin. But it comes in handy for services getting to the cabin. The only slight thing that would make it a touch more user friendly would be somewhere to hang stuff, there are lots of shelves, but because no ironing board or iron, I had to hang a few dresses and things on shelving brackets near the sofa, so they got in the way a bit, and also somewhere at the hot tub to hang towels or dressing gowns. But that's all, we loved it and can't wait to go back. There is some stunning scenery all around and it's the ideal place to relax.

  • "We had a lovely stay, massive thank you for allowing us to bring our 2yr old daughter."

There are some things I would like to point out, the cleanliness wasn’t to a very good standard. The fire was still full from previous guests, all the cutlery was dirty inside the cupboards were particularly dirty. The bathroom, the sink still had tooth paste over it and the taps the toilet was dirty, there where water marks all in the shower. The bed was a bit creaky and uncomfortable. Whilst the cabin was lovely the cleaning let it down. As a property manager myself I did expect a bit better standard and I would of expected a little welcome pack even if it was just some coffee, tea, sugar and milk after travelling. The tv signal wasn’t great but is to be expected and the radio didn’t work. midges where quite bad but that is to be expected.

Thank you for your feedback. We were surprised at you comments as we normally have high cleaning scores from guests. It is a shame that you did not call us during your stay on the numbers provided as we are always on hand to assist with any problems that may occur during a guest's stay. . Property Owner

Unfortunately the location of the cabin next to a pond, whilst picture perfect, made for an unbearable stay due to high numbers of midges that easily infiltrate the cabin meaning there is no escape from endless bites.

You have to accept pine martens nibbling your toes and Gordon's dogs wrapping themselves around you after they have been in the pond. Nice area and Atlantic Bridge and pub nice. Beware the one way system in Oban, a wrong turn and you will find yourself in a narrow maze and 500 feet above looking down into the harbour.

The cabin is remote and is set among nature. The pond is beautiful. Visitors have put up bird feeders, and it was like being in a bird hide. The wood burning stove and the electric heaters made the cabin cosy. There was every kitchen utensil we needed. The cooking area was clean and there were new washing up cloths. There was plenty of hot water and a good shower. The bed could be a little more comfortable. There is an amazing vegan cafe 4 miles south at Kilmelford.

  • "Absolutely stunning views and looked peaceful on arrival but then we realised we were 50yrds from a road , although not majorly busy it still ruined the tranquillity of the cabin ."

The cabin had dirt and water stains on the walls especially the corners of the cabin and the bathroom had water and mould stains on the woodwork which is probably due to no extraction fan in there and The bathroom shelves looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a while . The bed mattress was really uncomfortable and you can feel all the springs which didn’t do well for me or the wife’s backs and so much that I left to go home early on the third night of my stay because I didn’t fancy another night in that bed and drive 7hrs home after ! The hotub wasn’t the best and had a murky pee colour too it but that was explained by the caretaker but still it looked so uninviting due to the discolouration and the gazebo/canopy over the tub looked like a useless diy joiner put it up and looks bad ! This cabin doesn’t deserve the high price tag and I only paid for it because it was our tenth wedding anniversary and be truthful I was very disappointed at the standards of the cabin and tub and was a very long way to travel to get there . Paid a lot less and got a lot more comfort and cleanliness from other cabins we have stayed at in the past !

Not a matching glass and dishes piled in cupboard. I feel sorry for the cleaner of this property as must be a nightmare to clean. All the grounds are beautiful, love all the nature, wildlife and seclusion. The cabin itself is 'rough around the edges', but honestly that did nothing but add to the whole experience. Sometimes places can go overboard trying to make things too comfortable, but the cabin being just the way it is really adds quaintness, and character to every moment spent there. Any expansion to the cabin I believe should be kept within the parameters already set, it really is lovely.

  • "The cabin is petite, but well equipped - we were very happy there for the week."

Whilst we were there it was warm enough to sit out to eat which helped: if it had been colder, a foldaway table and chairs inside would have been handy - thought the lap trays were great. Cabin is really cosy inside. Loved the hot tub, and was visited by nuthatches and tree creepers running up the canopy supports and nearby trees! The pond and grounds are lovely - we saw red squirrels, and we think we were visited by the pine marten at night. Others have noted that its actually quite near to a road: it is, but we were not bothered by that at all (we live in the countryside so are used to quiet) - the trees screen much of the noise and its quiet enough, especially at night. Despite being so close to the water we had nil midges (which was a relief!). Its in a great location - well connected, easy to get into Oban/ferries, and lots of beautiful places to visit in the area. Finally, the chap who keeps the grounds - and his lovely dog - were very welcoming and looked after us well.
