  • "The property was lovely had everything we needed in it."

We had a trip to Mull ferry was very accessible no waiting time. We took the dog and she settled in really well. We all had a lovely time and would recommend it to our friends.

  • "Lovely, clean, cosy, homely 3 bed."

2 bathroom house in a beautiful location. The owners Isobell & Ian live nextdoor, nothing is too much trouble, they are friendly without being intrusive. The house is just like a home from home, kitchen is better equipped than my own! Enclosed back and front gardens . really convenient if you take your dogs. There are some nice walks nearby, and every corner you turn could be a photograph. The nearest shop w,as in the village about 10minutes away, so if you want to be near a supermarket and town centre this is not for you! We had a lovely week there in September and would highly recommend this cottage. Very happy customers, we would love to stay there again.

  • "We loved our stay at Larabeg!"

As a family of 5 and a dog this was the perfect summer break. The peace and quiet is wonderful and the scenery around Larabeg and Lochaline is stunning. We saw eagles buzzards and an owl. We had a couple of easy trips to Mull and Staffa Island. Lucky to see puffins (as it was the beginning of August when they leave), ganets and lots of other sea birds too. We loved all the walks around Ardtonish estate too, great for the dog. Ian and Isabelle were excellent hosts, on hand to help out with anything we needed. Highly recommend as a lovely holiday break away from it all x

  • "The house was lovely and tidy, quiet, had great facilities, and best of all was in a great location to explore both Ardnamurchan and Mull while having plenty to do from the doorstep!"

The only thing I would say is that the mattresses were abit uncomfortable. Isobel was such a great host - she was friendly, approachable and went out of her way to help - we had an issue with one of our vehicles and she called up and organised someone to come look at it within an hour! It was so much appreciated. Many thanks and we’ll be coming back to Larachbeg for sure :)

  • "We had a wonderful stay at 5 Larachbeg."

It is bigger than we expected and was very clean and welcoming. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and more. The location is exceptional, we'll definitely be coming back. We loved all information and local wildlife and walks, and the owners were very friendly and helpful - could not fault them. The only negative was the quality of the mattresses, especially in the main double, it's very uncomfortable and in need of replacement. But we'd still definitely return.

  • "The cottage was in a lovely location."

Lots of room, well equipped kitchen. We had a fantastic stay. You need to take food etc with you as there is only a shop selling basics in Lochaline. WiFi and phone signal were a bit erratic but I think that is only to be expected given the location. We absolutely loved it and would recommend!

  • "Cottage was excellent and provided all facilities, including good Wi-Fi."

Owners were also near neighbours and were very helpful and happy to answer a few practical questions when required. An unexpected bonus was the variety of scenic walks straight from the door of the house through the Ardtornish Estate and along the shores of Loch Aline without any need to drive anywhere in a car.

Isabel and Ian who own it and live next door were friendly and helpful, suggesting some nice walks locally. The area is stunning with beautiful scenery and wildlife on your doorstep and so peaceful.

  • "We found the cottage very welcoming when we arrived."

It looked warm and inviting as we draw up once inside everything was as if it was a home and not just somewhere to stay. The backyard was inviting. Sitting out undercover even when it was raining, watching a lot of different birds flying in and around. Isabelle, was warm, welcoming and extremely generous. Would love to go back.

Great walks on the doorstep and loads to do further afield. Useful base to get to the Isle of Mull and Ben Nevis in Fort William. Grown-ups, kids and dog very happy here! We can highly recommended this delightful home-from-home.

  • "Wonderful location, and beautiful cottage."

Everything was spotless. The place was set up with everything we needed, with three very comfortable bedrooms. It is 5 mins drive to the ferry to Mull and has a small but well-stocked village shop. The cottage is also within walking distance to the Ardtornish Estate. Great for dog walks too. All in all, this was a fabulous holiday and we are already planning to return next year.

Great hosts, everything you could need in the house. Great location for exploring Morvern or Mull, very beautiful area.

  • "Beautiful location, helpful, excellent owners living next door with great tips on where to go, eat, sightsee, etc Would recommend adding to the listing that if travelling via Oban, it is essential to book the ferry to Mull, this is one of very few that Calmac operate a booking system for."

Failure to book, involves a substantial drive over single track roads to reach the site. We saw Eagles, a Buzzard up close for minutes, through the house window & other wildlife, including Wild Goats. The Whitehouse Restaurant in the village is highly recommended.

  • "Cottage was in a great location for visiting Isle of mull."

An ideal location for taking our dogs as there are plenty of walks close to cottage. The cottage itself was excellent and the owners next door are very helpful. We would definitely recommend this cottage and we hope to return ourselves.

  • "This cottage was perfect, and had all amenities and even logs and coal were provided."

The owners live next door, but were never in our faces, they welcomed us, and gave us some info on the area. They said we could knock any time if we needed any help, which we did the very next morning, as my boyfriend woke up with a bad neck, and we had no pain killers, and local shop didn't open until 11am, and nearest town is 40 miles away. They kindly gave us some painkillers and deep heat. We were so grateful. The cottage really is quite remote, so when you first arrive bring the basics of your shopping with you. There is a small shop a couple of miles away by Lochaline Ferry port, but they stock limited goods, and they open from 9 till 6 during the week, and I believe 11 till 2pm on Sunday. There is also a small post office in the shop, there is a hotel up the road, doctors surgery, and a restaurant, but it wasn't opened when we were here, it opens from Easter. To get to Lochaline, the last 18 miles are single track road, but there are plenty of passing places. There are also little roads leading off the main track, and we decided to drive down some of them, and they all seem to lead somewhere hidden, Lochs, beautiful views, wildlife, ans one coastal treck brought us out to a bistro, in a tiny village. We enjoyed every minute of the holiday, and was sad to be going home.
