“I had a fantastic time at Kilbride Cottage - it's a great base for exploring the Kintyre peninsula (and beyond), but it's equally suitable if all you want to do is put your feet up and admire the view (I did a bit of both - what a view it is, right across to Antrim when the visibility is good).”
The cottage itself is charming, modern and spotless, with all the amenities you might need: I couldn't see that anything had been missed, but I'm sure that if I'd wanted for something, Barry and Jeanette would have provided. They make for excellent hosts, whether you want to call on their knowledge of the area, or whether you want to enjoy the peace and quiet on your own - again, I was made to feel right at home from the minute I got there. Campbeltown is a short drive away and has two supermarkets, aside from being a fascinating town in its own right - neither Tarbet nor Lochgilphead is that far (lots of things to do around the latter especially) - the scenic route via Carradale is stunning, as is the Mull, and the highlight of my week was a day spent on Gigha, easily accessible by ferry. So, a quiet and peaceful place if that's what you're after, but with lots to do within easy reach if you're wanting to be more active. Couldn't recommend this more highly - it was a wonderful place to stay.
