The cottage was everything we expected and more. We thought the cottage was charming and sympathetically decorated, also it was well stocked with all manner of useful “stuff” Eg, kitchen scales, dvds, games, pool sliders and towels for the hot tub, ice, dishwasher tablets and cleaning clothes. The hosts whilst friendly and helpful were very unobtrusive. It’s a quiet & rural location but well served by the local villages and farm shops within a 20 mins drive. We’d recommend Gilmartins bakery and coffee shop in Stewarton and the farm shop & deli in Dunlop, both catered well for gluten-free diets and dog friendly too. The only caveat is that, if like us, you’ve limited mobility the step into the cottage, between the kitchen & lounge and those down onto the deck and to access the hot tub might be a bit of a challenge, for the same reason we didn’t venture up to the mezzanine bedroom so can’t comment on that space. Overall we’d certainly recommend it as a peaceful and comfortable retreat. Reviewed by SusanMar 2022 "We had the best time at overcarswell farm for Christmas." The cottage is comfortable and cosy - the hot tub is a great addition. It was a shame that it was a late entry and early departure time which really eats into the stay. The cottage is quite remote , surrounded by lovely countryside - it’s relatively easy to find if you have sat nav but be aware roads are not great particularly in the dark. Make sure you bring supplies for your first night as no milk etc provided( that may be a Covid precaution) A lovely stay Reviewed by KarenNov 2020 "This was truly a wonderful escape, the cottage was a great size." There were only 2 of us and our dog but plenty of room for another 4 people. It was an ideal escape and to b honest it had everything we needed so we barely left the cottage! Very close to Glasgow yet it was in the middle of farm land which was beautiful I was in the hot tub all day every day with a good book. There were sheep and cows in a field close by so that was lovely to see them from the hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped and a local Tesco superstore was not far away so we enjoyed delicious home cooked meals every night. We cannot wait to visit again and I’ve already been recommending to friends. Another beautiful feature was the wood burner. Despite being on a farm with another property it felt totally private and we were left to enjoy our holiday. Loved it! Reviewed by JulieOct 2020 "Had a great time at overcarswell."
