  • "We really loved our long weekend break."

So much room. Lovely & warm on arrival which was great. Everything you needed & more was available. The view from the living room was stunning. A few maintenance issues need attending. The shower in the master bedroom leaked down into the kitchen. A bulb is out in the master bedroom ceiling. The dining table is very loose & wobbly. A beautiful family home. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou guys.

  • "Fantastic position to tour Ayrshire and Argyll."

As already reviewed, amazing ever changing views out of the lounge windows, made even better once we'd cleaned the glass! Bright sunshine highlighted the problem. Well equipped, especially the kitchen however some light bulbs in main bedroom and lounge need replacing, along with the bedding, stains and marked. Damaged tiled flooring in ensuite too. Knowing which WiFi to log in would get a 5 out 5 from the teenagers

  • "We had a lovely Christmas get together in this really spacious house."

The Clyde view from the lounge was constantly changing and we could walk to the shop, cafe and the station. The kitchen was equipped with absolutely everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the house was spotlessly clean.

Apologises for not responding sooner but glad to hear that you had a comfortable stay. Thank you very much for the positive review. Property Owner

  • "Large property well stocked and very clean."

Owner responded very quickly to a problem we had. Not within walking distance for local amenities, local cafe and chippy very good. Very little else at wemyss but can be used as a base trains to glasgow and ferry to bute, largs not far. Would benefit from clothes airer and washing line to dry clothes other than tumble dryer. Lots of ornaments and glass so bear in mind if coming with small children.

  • "Overall we were very happy with our stay."

The kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in. The bedrooms are comfortable and the upstairs lounge room is very spacious and well equipped. The main negative is the sun room. Although it is well furnished, it has mould and mildew on the blinds causing an unpleasant odour, and it is excessively hot on sunny days. However, we would happily at this address again.

Appreciate your feedback. We are aware of the blinds in the sun room needing a change and are in the process of getting it done and the mould on the wall in the sun room will be looked into. Thank you. Property Owner

Lovely location and fantastic views. House was well equipped and with four double bedrooms is great for large families. Well situated for train into Glasgow and near Ferry ports to explore the Islands. We were lucky with the weather and had a great time. Happy to rebook next time we visit the area. Many thanks.

  • "A late booking, expertly handled by the Sykes Cottages staff who helped us choose the property."

Although the cottage/house was much larger than we needed it proved a brilliant choice as it was perfectly positioned for getting around the region. The spotless house had everything we needed and more and was probably the most comfortable we have stayed in. As I said it was larger than we really needed but all the facilities were perfect for a large family with the kids well catered for. Thank you Sykes Cottage and house owner Sarah who contacted us to check on our well-being during our stay.

There was great communication between J and S, they answered all our queries immediately, gave great advice, and explained everything to us very well. They are very friendly and willing to help. The kitchen was brilliantly stocked (and the owners kept offering for us to use everything in it!). The view from the lounge and bedrooms was stunning. Easy access to Largs, Loch Lomond, Isle of Arran and Ayr and close to amenities. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
