  • "A fantastic find, you will not be disappointed!"

We stayed at the lodge for a week and had a fantastic time there, the lodges are very spacious, clean and well equipped with great views of the sea, farm, lighthouse, boats and various animals! A perfect place for a quiet relaxing week, the pool table also provided great entertainment, kind and attentive hosts, highly recommended!

  • "Fabulous holiday home, one of the best we have stayed in."

Location was perfect for us, remote, great views and tranquil but with great WiFi. General area is lovely with loads to see and easy to access with the roads mostly to ourselves. The house has everything thing you could wish for with loads of space and a massive ground floor bedroom with bathroom for those with access issues when using stairs like my mother who was with us.

In fact, perfect. A real get away from it all property, yet only a few miles from Stranraer. A lovely welcome pack awaited us on our arrival. . Cannot recommend this property highly enough. Would give it 10 stars if I could.

This was our 2nd time of visiting and we cannot wait to come again. The lodge is immaculate and perfect for a relaxing getaway. A lovely welcoming gift of Irish wheaten bread, chutney, butter, milk, rocky road and fresh flowers. Just absolutely perfect!!

  • "The best house we have had the pleasure in booking, from the cleanliness to the quality of furniture we could not fault this home, Marie has thought of everything and we enjoyed a fantastic few days."

The living space is large enough for more than one family including teens without any issue, the kitchen is well equipped with everything you may even think of including a fantastic fridge/freezer. This room is great for entertaining and we cooked many dinners and enjoyed them together at the large dining table. The sunroom with pool table was enjoyed by us all - even the notice pool players! All rooms are well presented, have comfortable beds and plenty of space for all, two are ensuite and two can share the family bathroom. Plenty parking outside. It was great to sit in the evening and watch the sun set (lucky to have good weather!) and the ferries pass up and down the Irish Sea. We really hope to be back with you for another stay at some stage. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

  • "What an amazing place, huge, comfy and has absolutely everything you need."

Nothing better than cosying down in front of the fire after a walk down to the coast when the wind is blowing. Watching the animals on the farm and seeing the ferries to Ireland. So many personal added extras, will definitely be back! If your travelling with children make sure you have plenty downloaded, mobile phone signal non existent and WiFi is slow but that didn’t affect our time.

  • "By far the best equiped holiday accommodation we have stayed in."

We use Sykes every year and always have great stay but this one was above and beyond great. From the immaculate decor and furniture to the freshly baked food and essentials that the owners left for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Yes the internet and TV are intermittant but we had a fabulous family holiday with lots of great places to explore.

About the location

Stranraer 6 miles.

Kirkcolm, formerly known as Stewarton, which was established in the early 17th Century, is a small village on the tip of the Rhins of Galloway Peninsula. The village offers a homely, welcoming pub and an excellent children’s playpark. Nearby are lovely walks to the coast with superb birdwatching. The village is just 6 miles from Stranraer which is situated at the head of Loch Ryan and has a long history as a ferry port. Stranraer is the gateway to the Rhins of Galloway Peninsula and the town’s main attraction is the Castle of St John, which is a ruined four-story tower house built around 1500. Stranraer Museum can be found in the old town hall.
Three miles east of Stranraer is Castle Kennedy Gardens where you will find the castle, two lochs, a giant lily pond and an avenue of monkey puzzle tree. The quaint seaside village of Portpatrick, with a multitude of pubs and eateries is 11 miles away.
For golfing enthusiasts there are a number of courses including Dunskey near Portpatrick, Creachmore near Stranraer and the world renowned course at Trump Turnberry is an hour away.
