Upstairs are two spacious, nicely-furnished king-size double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room as well as a separate shower room also, to avoid those queues in the morning.
To the outside of the cottage is an enclosed gravelled garden, making it a great place for the kids to let off some steam, whilst you relax with something chilled.
There are plenty of forest and cycle paths from Beattock up into the hills as well as dog walks around the local fishing pond.
Old Stables bar and restaurant is a few minutes’ walk from the cottage with Moffat Manor a few minutes’ walk in the opposite direction with an onsite bar and restaurant as well as an onsite shop.
Moffat itself is a short drive away and offers a series of waymarked walking routes to suit all tastes, including the Southern Upland Way and the Annandale Way.
Moffat has been named as the first town in Europe to achieve Dark Sky status, therefore don’t forget to take advantage of this by using the telescope provided.
Explore the town’s rich heritage at the Moffat Museum, wander around the galleries, theatres and shops or stop at one of the many cafes.
For those keen fishermen, why not take a trip to the River Annan for a spot of salmon and trout fishing or try Hammerlands Fishery, near Moffat for some superb flly fishing.
There are many events and galas throughout the year including music festivals, the annual Moffat Gala and the famous Moffat Sheep Race which is not to be missed.
Further afield take a trip to Edinburgh or Glasgow to see the sights or for a spot of retail therapy.
