  • "Very well equipped cottage."

...all necessary information supplied....hassle free. We had a lovely week.

  • "We had a great stay at Blue Sky Cottage, the weather was glorious, so that was a big positive."

The cottage was lovely, very well looked after and very comfortable. Comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and kitchen. The garden was well maintained. Very good location for getting to local attractions. Went to The Botanical Gardens - lovely day and had a great lunch in the cafe, the light house is a good place for food and had a great Scottish breakfast and bracing walk. We would highly recommend the cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage centrally located in the village which is a credit to the owners."

Good outdoor space which would be great for sitting outside during the summer months, Slightly quirky layout with Kitchen and dining room downstairs and 3 bedrooms, bathroom and main living space upstairs, but in practice this works really well. I would have no hesitation to book Blue Skye Cottage again in the future

  • "Lovely clean cottage, all we needed was there."

The mattress on the single bed was a bit saggy - might have had its time. But all else was great.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Blue Sky Cottage. I am sorry you found the mattress on the single bed saggy, all mattresses at the property have recently been replaced to new high grade mattresses, so there should be no issues with sagging. • "We had a lovely week at the cottage."

We used it as a base to explore the west coast. It is close to the Mull of Galloway and pretty seaside towns like Port Patrick. The cottage was well equipped and cosy. We would recommend it to our friends.

  • "Lovely, clean and well equipped cottage in ideal location to explore area."

Great garden. Friendly local pub and restaurant on your doorstep. Be aware that layout of cottage requires constant use of stairs.

  • "This is a nice cottage with adequate facilities , the downside is that the sitting room is on the 1st floor right at the back of the building."

One of the reasons we booked this cottage was because it was dog friendly but in fact it’s the opposite with dogs not allowed upstairs so when we were in the sitting room our dog was left downstairs the furthest point away from us. It’s a lovely area and the locals are all so friendly and helpful but I would not recommend this cottage to anyone taking their dog with them on holiday

  • "The only let down in the cottage was the bed and bedding."

The bed was extremely soft, missing spars in the box bed frame and we found getting a decent nights sleep very difficult. The bedding was perfectly clean however it was very bobbled at the feet area. The single beds, although not used, appeared much worse

Nice cosy house with a walled in garden backing on to a field. Great for dogs. Owner was very helpful and will happily come back

It was spotless on arrival and the softest towels ....a fantastic area to explore and the owners email with suggested places to visit was very helpful ....after a very long lockdown and late booking for the b/h weekend we could not have found a better mini break! Communication from the owners was fantastic and made us feel very welcome Thank you Larraine

Located in a sweet village with local amenities including bus stop on the doorstep and convenience store over the road. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "The cottage was immaculate and spotless!"

The kitchen was well stocked with equipment we needed as we did lots of self catering due to the Pandemic situation. It was easy to park at the front of the property and the beach and harbour were an easy walk. Even the weather was good! We will be returning to this lovely cottage.

  • "Prior to the holiday, Sykes sent plenty communications which we liked."

The Cottage had everything required to enjoy a holiday. And being recently refurbished to a good standard meant a very pleasant stay. Even fresh flowers both upstairs and down. On arrival we were met by Larraine, the owner who explained everything in detail as well as also providing, in advance, details of places of local interest. We visited all of them. The electric shower could have been more powerful but we managed.

With comfortable beds and quality linen, we were well rested and the place was spotlessly clean. We will go back for sure.

It was well equiipped and nicely presented. We had no problems with the property at all even though we were the first guests. We enjoyed our stay, and the Mull of Galloway is a lovely area.

About the location

DRUMMORE

Stranraer 17 miles.

The beautiful village of Drummore is not only the largest and most southerly of all the Rhins villages, it also happens to be the most southerly village in all of Scotland. Home to a Post Office, a charming harbour and three local pubs, this quiet and peaceful fishing village benefits from the warmth of the Gulf Stream and receives less rainfall than the rest of Western Scotland, whilst during the winter months the wind exhilarates walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The surrounding landscape is wild and spectacular, boasting stunning views across Luce Bay to the Machars of Galloway, whilst across the peninsula visitors can enjoy views of Ireland's Antrim Hill, the Mountains of Mourne, the Cumbrian coast and the ridge of Mona's Isle on the Isle of Man, all visible on a clear day. With many visitor attractions throughout the area including fabulous beaches, bird sanctuaries and the historic market town of Stranraer, gateway to the Rhins, there's plenty to see and do at any time of year.
