Stranraer (7 miles) has all the facilities you could need and you can also visit the numerous gardens close by such as Castle Kennedy, Dunskey and if you travel south towards the Mull of Galloway, Logan Botanic gardens. You will find a good choice of restaurants from fine dining, excellent sea food and good pub grub within easy reach. In the centre of Stranraer sits the Castle of St John which is well worth a visit. For the more adventurous, a day trip as a foot passenger to Belfast from Cairnryan just north of Stranraer, where you can simply take in the shops restaurants and traditional pubs or you can visit the excellent Titanic exhibition.
