When it comes to a peaceful night’s sleep, the bedrooms will leave you spoilt for choice, presented in a variety of styles with sloping ceilings resting above. The charming furnishings compliment the cottage feel wholeheartedly, and the sense of tradition creates a home-away-from-home theme throughout. Added touches such as a sun room accompany some of the properties, as well as a private patio area, resting amidst peaceful communal grounds. In Galloway there are rugged hills, craggy coastline, dark forests, tumbling rivers and mystical lochs just waiting to be uncovered. As well as action packed activities, take time to appreciate the quietness of this amazing location, wild unspoilt places and the wonder of nature. Galloway boasts 200 miles of beautiful coastline, wild mountains and moorland, pretty towns and charming villages, plus a great network of touring roads. Space for you to get away from it all, escape and recharge your batteries, time to unwind, discover and sight-see at your own pace. Galloway; a memorable getaway to experience the best of Scotland.

About the location

GATEHOUSE OF FLEET

Kirkcudbright 8 miles; Newton Stewart 15 miles; Castle Douglas 15 miles.

Peaceful in its pastel colours, the small country town of Gatehouse of Fleet lies on the Solway Firth, in the midst of Dumfries & Galloway countryside, with good sandy beaches a five-minute drive away. The town was founded in the 1760s as a mill community, and today the nearby Mill on the Fleet - a visitor centre in a former bobbin mill - tells the tale of Gatehouse’s cotton-spinning days. Today, there are several shops in the town including a small supermarket, chemist, bank and Post Office, along with two book/gift shops, a kilt-making centre and two cafes. All four pubs in the town have restaurant facilities and welcome children. Castle Douglas, a 15-minute drive away, offers an extensive range of shops, Threave Gardens and boating on Carlingwark Loch.

Note: This property is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children.
