  • "The house was very clean, it would appear that the previous issues have been dealt with satisfactorily by the local management team."

We had no problems at all with the location, the nearby town of Hamilton has some good restaurants and shops (supermarkets, etc). It has some nice areas, some less nice areas, much like any large town. We never once felt worried about any of these and everyone was friendly and pleasant. The house is on a really nice estate and is spacious and roomy, with more than enough towels, etc. By the way, my Husband fixed the 'broken' downstairs window lock, which appeared to have been jammed open by a small stone. Points for improvement; all mattresses and pillows should have protectors on them and a security system would perhaps make people feel safer. My only gripe is the lack of Hot Tub. I'd go as far as to say that it is deceitful to keep advertising the property with a Hot Tub as its been gone since at least July and we were not informed it was unavailable until a couple of hours after our final payment was deducted by Sykes. After I complained, I was given a 10% discount, but this is not what I expect from a respectable holiday company and it left a very bitter taste indeed. The hot tub was absolutely the only reason I booked this property for a holiday. I would have gone to a more obvious, touristy location otherwise. As a result, I will never book with Sykes again.

  • "We were disappointed that the hot tub was removed a few weeks before our stay and we only got a discount after requesting this."

Also it took a long time to get through to Sykes customer services to discuss this issue. House is very comfortable, though it would benefit from new saucepans and cooking utensils and the bathrooms need fittings in showers for toiletries. The location was okay but had to drive to everything and 45 mins from nice tourist areas, though there are a number of parks within a few miles drive.

  • "It was on a building site and next to a very rough housing estate."

The rubbish had not been emptied for weeks. There was insufficient towels for 8 people. There was no hot tub or microwave. Very disappointing. This is my second piece of feedback and no one has bothered even sending a courtesy email to address the poor feedback. Again, disappointing.

  • "We booked a hot tub holiday only to find no hot tub, grass was very long and all the bins were full."

Contacted one of the numbers provided at the property to be told that the bins would be getting emptied on the day we were leaving and the grass was getting cut the day before we left. Support from Sykes was very poor, they contacted the owner and they said as a GESTURE! they would give me 10% back of the £1100 paid for the hot tub holiday. After contacting Sykes to say I wasn't happy with that, I was told, that the owner was only willing to pay 10% and that this was the final settlement. Sykes will NOT help you if you have problems with a property, they are just lap dogs.

  • "Cleaner delayed our check in for a deep clean, and yet the house was dirty and broken windows broken chair broken toilet, dirty hot tub, no key to use patio, and totally ignored when I tried the contact numbers and email address."

I will be seeking a refund, Had to leave the property very early. Disgusting

  • "Although we booked a "holiday house" we were actually moving house - our new house was delayed by a week and we needed somewhere to stay at short notice."

This was in the area we already lived and had everything we needed. Very high standard of accommodation- just a shame about the time of year or else we'd have tried the hot tub.

  • "Would just say garden was sodden with water so trying to get from house to hot tub without getting all mud and shoes were all mud and dogs coming back in after being outside having to stick in utility sink so carpets didn’t get dirty was our bug bear."

The oven and microwave was really hard to use so complex my brother fits fitted kitchens for a living and he found them so difficult. The house was very clean and we had wonderful time everything else was perfect

  • "Beautiful house with everything we needed to make our stay a happy and relaxing one."

Close to several beautiful country parks and close enough to be able to travel to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and Falkirk. Would highly recommend booking this property.

  • "You literally have everything you will ever need here, including a slow cooker and nutribullet!"

The oven was very difficult to operate but we called the house keeper and she popped round to show us how to work it. Plenty of towels, hot tub was beautiful, the property is so well presented and in a lovely little area. Only thing I would say is the windows didnt all close properly so the children's room was very very cold at night, but there were big duvets on the beds so that kept them warm enough. There were spices, condiments, teabags and dishwashing tablets already there and much more. Very beautiful house, everything you'll need, good base for a lot of Scotland. Would highly recommend this property!!

Plenty to do in and around Hamilton. Quick responses if anything needed to be sorted. We all loved our stay and will certainly be back.

All the beds were were comfortable and the rooms were a good size. Showers were bliss. Smart tv was a nice touch no limitations on what to watch. All over a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

  • "We had a lovely time here very clean, modern and spacious."

Only issue being getting between garden and house without making the house mucky or getting muck in the hot tub and the tv room down stairs next door to the kitchen having leaking water drip through the ceiling. These are minor issues, it is a very nice and well kept home.

  • "We stayed at 6 Whitecraigs Crescent for just under two weeks while our new house was being finalised."

We live in the area and needed somewhere to base ourselves after we had to move out of our temporary accommodation. It is a bright, cosy, welcoming property and has a really lovely energy to it. It was also spotlessly clean. The dog towels and bowls were useful too. We were so grateful to have somewhere nice to base ourselves at what could have been quite a stressful time. Both the Sykes team and the owner were friendly, responsive and helpful to deal with. In terms of location it is just on the edge of Hamilton town centre in a new estate. It felt peaceful and semi-rural but also really easy to get to amenities. The pictures on the Sykes website were very reflective of the house. Thank you!

Completely faultless. All amenities provided including towels and cooking essentials like oil and condiments which many places fail to provide. Excellent.

  • "The house was amazing."

Everything we expected and more. Lovely touches like towels for the dog, soap in every bathroom, teabags and spices in the kitchen cupboards (amongst other things), made our weekend away perfect. One suggestion... an extra oven tray and Pyrex/glass oven dish or two wouldn’t go amiss. Cooking Sunday dinner for everyone was tricky but I managed. Five stars all round though!

Was lovely to sit in the kitchen in the morning with a cup of tea while my little yorkie run around in the garden. Contact with owners really good. Hoping to go back in the future.

We were overly happy with the cleanliness and facilities it provided. 4 double bedrooms and a single bed plus cot. Two bathrooms en suite plus a family bathroom. The garden was very well kept and the hot tub was really nice. The property is situated in a new beautiful complex of houses where we felt very safe with very kind neighbours. The owner went over and above to make sure we had what we needed before we arrived. We had the ability to be in touch with the owner throughout our stay which was very helpful too. Highly recommended property to rent.
