  • "Fabulous accommodation with everything we could possibly need, and no issues whatsoever."

The owners were incredibly helpful and friendly. The Estate grounds were exceptional. Can't wait to come back!!! Way beyond what we expected. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!!

  • "Although lovely it is due the updating from the renovations that are planned."

Quiet and peaceful. Lovely to wander round the grounds with the dogs especially the feeling after the garden is closed and you have the whole place to yourself to wander around. The garden is secure. Lots to do in the area if your active and lots not do if you just want to chill. Lovely walks along the Tweed. If like us you have a dog that can’t be let of the lead there’s a brilliant secure 10 acre field in Earlston called Brambles field. It’s a good 45 mins drive but worth it and the scenery is fantastic on the way there.

  • "The cottage was extremely clean and well equipped, very peaceful and the gardens beautiful."

However, the seating in the main room was very uncomfortable, very new and not keeping with an old cottage. The photos on the Sykes site it was different and very in keeping and looked very cosy and comfortable. It seems like a very trivial thing to mention but it makes a real difference when you already struggle with muscle problems. The only comfortable seating was on the beds or the window seat in the kitchen. Everything else was lovely, including the little touches like a food hamper which we really appreciated.

  • "We were aware the décor was a bit dated as were parts of the exterior however the owners have only recently taken over the estate."

Its setting and friendliness of everyone we met made up for any faults . Its setting within the stunning garden estate is quite unique and with 2 fishing lakes and a putting green within a few hundred metres plus close to Peebles made it an ideal family base to explore the area.

  • "Coachmans Cottage is situated in the ground of Kailzie Gardens."

When closed, you have the entire gardens to yourself - perfect for those looking for a very quiet place to stay or with a dog to enjoy the fantastic walks. The cottage had so much character, the new owners had only taken over Kailzie Gardens a few months earlier and already started to update the cottage with big plans. They were such lovely people too who made us feel so welcome. Wood burner too.. so in the colder spring evenings coming back after a day out, having a walk in the beautiful gardens then back to light the fire - just perfect ! We will go back there time and time again... such a lovely place
