  • "This cottage is absolutely stunning from top to bottom!"

The finishing throughout is to a really high standard, the beds are just unreal and the little touches, such as the provided toiletries and homemade rocky road on arrival get your holiday off to a great start. The information pack with details on the local area and suggestions of things to do is really accurate and helpful. There's a lovely traditional pub about 30 seconds away which serves lovely homecooked food too which is really handy after a long day exploring the beautiful surroundings. Also, Lady's Bay is a small cove style beach about 10 minutes drive away from the cottage, which is just gorgeous, so that's a definite must see!!

The hospitality of the owner is second to none, on arrival freshly baked oat soda bread, rocky road, prosecco, cheese, chutney, butter, milk, olive oil, tea and coffee. Everything is top quality and nothing has been overlooked. The beds are extremely comfortable and and the standard of finish throughout the whole cottage can't be faulted. The area is stunning with plenty to see and visit. It helped that we were given that special treat 'a Scottish holiday with virtually wall to wall sunshine!). The welcome gifts were an added bonus and serious kudos was given to the cook for their Rocky Road pieces and amazing homemade loaf..they were simply delicious!. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and would certainly re-visit if that became an option in the future. The local shop in the next village (5 mins by car) is reasonably stocked and priced and their are a number of major supermarkets in nearby Stranraer. We didn't get to visit the pub in the village (a mixture of timings and Covid restrictions) but heard/read good reviews. All in all a fantastic break in a stunning cottage.
