“Over the past few years we have rented cottages through Sykes and this one is by far the best.”
The cottage was very clean and well equipped, very spacious for the four of us. The hot tub was an added bonus and was well used even when the weather was not at it's best the fact that it is secluded and sheltered from the elements shows that a lot of thought has gone into this cottage. We arrived in a rainy evening and had some problems locating the cottage, full marks to the owners who came out in their car to guide us 'home '. Would highly recommend this cottage and no one would be disappointed to stay here.- Mr Muldoon, October 2019
“Everything was absolutely perfect, the only thing i would say to change maybe for future reference is in the living room the tv sits on the wall where the sunnis shining in all day and we could barely see most part of the day until it was dark so maybe switching the tv and couch the other way around and it would be perfect.”
apart from that we couldn‘t have asked for more- Miss Young, October 2019
“Was a relaxing and great week away for all the family.”
The owners have provided a lovely , clean and comfortable oasis . The hot tub made it that extra bit special and relaxing.- Mrs Cunningham, June 2019
“Lovely cottage with excellent amenities in particular the relaxing hot tub.”
Location is good if you like to walk, cycle, fish or play golf. There are also plenty of beautiful gardens and the Galloway forest is well worth a visit. Unfortunately our weather wasn't’ brilliant but we made the most of it. Port Patrick is nice for a visit as well as Castle Kennedy Gardens and Kirroughtree visitors centre. All in all a relaxing week.- Mr Walton, May 2019
“Loved this cottage it was somewhere we felt we could live.”
You can hear the main road but it didn't spoil our stay. The fixtures and fittings are of excellent quality the only thing I would have liked is a dressing table to get ready, other than that it was perfect for us.- Mrs Spencer, May 2019
“Great cottage but a bit basic on kitchen equipment if you like to cook for yourself.”
Needs a bread knife and peeler and the pans are a bit worn. Could also use something to give a bit of privacy from cottage next door to feel a bit more relaxing in lounge and using out door space. Perfect location for exploring with very comfortable beds. Would definitely comeback.- Ms Williams, May 2019
“Lovely cottage Quiet yet accessible to facilities Thank you”- Mr Ewart, April 2019
“Absolutely fantastic time at the stables.”
Beautiful property and had everything we needed for 3 days of catching up with friends. We spent most of our time in the hot tub which was one of the reasons we booked. Would definitely go back and highly reccomend- Miss Bowie, March 2019
“The property is so cosy and home like, we settled right in.”
The hot tub is such an added luxury and is no fuss to use. Can't say about thing about the place! Will definitely be back for another cosy weekend.- Mr Cordiner, March 2019
“Beautiful, homely cottage.”
Everything we needed for a family stay in a great location, close to the beach and lots of places to explore.- Mr Hope, February 2019
“This property was a stunning place to go for a break would highly reccomend for anyone who wants a peaceful getaway.”
The cleanest place I have ever stayed with amazing facilities. Will definitely be going back for a stay.- Mr Jamieson, February 2019
“We stayed in the stables cottage for 7 nights over Christmas with our 2 children,we had a fantastic week.”
..cottage was lovley clean and warm and really nicely decorated for Christmas..the hot tub was well and truly used too..would recommend and will be visiting again- Mr Johnson, December 2018
“We had a lovely week at The Stables, beautiful property developed to a high standard.”
Hot tub is a bonus, very relaxing. Would definitely recommend this property and location.- Mrs Clark, October 2018
“We had a great time at the stables!”
The house was very clean and comfortable. It was great to feel so warm despite the cold weather outside. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. The proximity of the road was forgotten about quickly with evenings relatively quiet. Satnav takes you to the opposite side of the road, so we struggled at first to find the property. We enjoyed the hot tub immensely using it every evening. We were pleased to see brochures for things to do in the cottage and explored nearby gardens and castles. The shop at Glen Luce just a mile away was handy enough too. Altogether, we had a great time and would recommend the property to anybody thinking of a nice relaxing place to holiday.- Mr Veverka, October 2018
“Excellent property and facilities and evidently very newly refurbished/built.”
Well appointed and the Hot Tub is great and we certainly made good use of it. The property is not that far from the main road so in the summer with windows open do expect to hear it. Great walks in the area with beautifully scenic beaches.- Mr Tisshaw, August 2018

We had a fab time - the barn conversion is fantastic and fully equipped Very central to some lovely days out The owners are lovely and very friendly not to mention very helpful At the end of a text message and response was pretty immediate The house was clean and ideal, simply amazing The hot bath was great too Only thing I’d ask for is a full length mirror and a shower rack ;) Otherwise awesome stay all round - thank you so much Tracey & Kenny x- Ms Dana, August 2018
