Converted from old farm steadings, now transformed into beautiful holiday accommodation, this group of ten properties enjoys sweeping views of the coast and countryside all around them. Meiklebob Holiday Cottages are located on the outskirts of Dalbeattie, the Granite Town of South West Scotland within Dumfries and Galloway, and sits near the coast. Offering a retreat to nature, the cottages are next to the Meiklebob Farm, where Aberdeen Angus Cattle are reared as well as Lleyn and Romney Sheep, and you can even feed the pigs, donkeys and more! Comprising of a selection of cottage sizes ranging from sleeping four guests to ten guests, there is sure to be an arrangement to suit your party, whether that be fitting into one cottage, or spreading yourself across a few so everyone can enjoy their own space. All of the properties enjoy an open-plan living space where a kitchen equipped with all the essential appliances can be used to lovingly prepare family meals, or quickly whip up a picnic for later in the day when you're out and about outside. The attractive country town of Dalbeattie nestles in the south west of Scotland. The town sits within a wooded valley on the River Urr and provides access to the picturesque Solway Coast with its miles of beaches and pretty fishing villages. Dalbeattie is originally known for its granite quarry, which exported stone all over the world, most notably for the Eddystone Lighthouse and Thames Embankment. Today it is renowned for its outdoor activities with the world famous 7stanes mountain biking complex nearby as well as forest walks in Glentrool, where you can follow in the footsteps of Richard Hannay in The Thirty Nine Steps. Dalbeattie and the surrounding area offer panoramic views of the Solway Firth, the Lake District and the Galloway Hills. A great location, which has something for everyone.
