  • "Myself and my husband work away a lot and usually book hotels, but found everywhere completely booked up, because of COP26."

We were lucky, when we came across Mousebank. We stayed for 5 nights and it was like being on holiday. We usually eat in our hotel room but the bungalow had everything, we usually have at home and it was amazing. I assumed we wouldn't get a good signal but they have strong WiFi and they had already logged into Netflix, so plenty of things to watch. I would definitely recommend Mousebank, as it was a home from home.

Thanks, we are pleased it was satisfactory James and Anne Property Owner

  • "We chose Mousebank for it’s location as family members now live in Glasgow and could join us for the weekend (and bring their dog)."

This worked well, as Mousebank has plenty of space with local waymarked walks for Jimmy. The bungalow is furnished and decorated to a high standard hence the £500 household bond payable in advance and refunded after your visit. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with crockery etc. The weather was kind and we were able take tea on the balcony. The property is within reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh and we enjoyed visiting The Falkirk Wheel,The Kelpies and the Scottish Owl Centre which presents indoor flying displays.

  • "This is a wonderful property, situated on the edge of a small hamlet on a quiet road."

Although this property sleeps four, there were only two of us, but I can confirm it's certainly suitable for 4. Kitchen was very well equipped with more than enough cuttlery, plates, pans & utensils. The only thing it lacked was a dishwasher, but that's no hardship, although the fridge/freezer being in the utility room next to the kitchen did mean there was a lot of moving between the two. Being on one level, with a walk in shower it's ideal for people with limited mobility, however there are a couple of steps into the premises. The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of storage and the beds were extremely comforatable, with feather pillows and quilt. The bathroom is spacious and tiled throughout. The only negative is there are no grab rails, so I had to help my wife in and out of the shower, due to her limited mobility. The living room/dining room is big, so there's plenty of room to allow you to make yourself at home. The patio doors lead out into a raised area with a table and chairs, overlooking the rest of the garden (with barbecue and further tables & chairs. The garden overlooks a deep wooded valley and you can just make out the stream at the bottom. Location wise, it's within around an hour of both Glasgow & Edinburgh and there are a number of train stations nearby giving you good access to both, if you don't want to drive into the cities. Nearest town is Lanark, with local shopping and supermarkets, although there are a couple of smaller shops in the nearby town of Forth.

  • "Mousebank was a premium property in an excellent location!"

There were beautiful walks within walking distance and lots to do in the local area, even under pandemic restrictions. The bungalow was well equipped, beautifully furnished and incredibly clean and fresh. It was also lovely to stay somewhere with a decent shower and very comfortable beds! We would highly recommend Mousebank and would return ourselves in the future to explore the local area further.

  • "This is the first time we've visited Lanarkshire & it certainly won't be the last."

We were very impressed with Mousebank from the moment we stepped inside. The place was absolutely spotless, the floors were gleaming & we were just blown away. The owner came down in the early evening to show us a few things (heating operation, hob etc) & to offer any help or advice which was very nice & a nice personal touch instead of the usual notes that get left at other lets. Mousebank is very well equipped let, especially in the kitchen. The setting is lovely & peaceful with very little traffic at all other than an odd tractor from the farm down the road. For us it was ideal as a get away from everything & just what we wanted. We'll be returning again for sure. Thanks for a great visit xx

  • "Such a relaxing & peaceful place to stay in."

Mousebank is beautifully furnished & has everything ( and more ) that you could possibly need for your stay. It has a very well stocked kitchen with lots of cutlery, plates, glasses, cooking equipment far beyond what other accommodation deem essential. The hosts even supplied lunch boxes & a cool bag. I made good use of the laundry equipment, plenty of pegs & an airer, so no coming home to the usual mountain of holiday washing. The comfiest bed we have ever slept in & it was nice to lie in & just listen to the leaves rustling in the breeze. Binoculars were a nice touch, so we could watch the birds. I think the squirrels were hiding from me. All the accommodation is tastefully done & well thought out & really did feel like home. We were very reluctant leavers at the end of our week. The area itself is a good base. We drove into Lanark & caught the train for a day in Glasgow. Afternoon tea at the Willow tea rooms is a must ( but would advise booking ) We also visited The Hill House, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. We drove to this (It's in Helensburgh) approx 90 minutes away. Stunning scenery, then onto Loch Lomond for a picnic ending the day at the Kelpies ( Falkirk) We also visited the New Lanark Mill ( twice) & would highly recommend this. Jim came down to make sure we were settled & to run through cooking & heating instructions. Also gave very good advice on where/how to travel. We actually ran out of time to go to Edinburgh, but would use the train. We were very lucky with the weather, glorious sunshine for most of our visit.
