“This is a wonderful property, situated on the edge of a small hamlet on a quiet road.”
Although this property sleeps four, there were only two of us, but I can confirm it's certainly suitable for 4. Kitchen was very well equipped with more than enough cuttlery, plates, pans & utensils. The only thing it lacked was a dishwasher, but that's no hardship, although the fridge/freezer being in the utility room next to the kitchen did mean there was a lot of moving between the two. Being on one level, with a walk in shower it's ideal for people with limited mobility, however there are a couple of steps into the premises.
The bedrooms were spacious with plenty of storage and the beds were extremely comforatable, with feather pillows and quilt. The bathroom is spacious and tiled throughout. The only negative is there are no grab rails, so I had to help my wife in and out of the shower, due to her limited mobility.
The living room/dining room is big, so there's plenty of room to allow you to make yourself at home. The patio doors lead out into a raised area with a table and chairs, overlooking the rest of the garden (with barbecue and further tables & chairs. The garden overlooks a deep wooded valley and you can just make out the stream at the bottom.
Location wise, it's within around an hour of both Glasgow & Edinburgh and there are a number of train stations nearby giving you good access to both, if you don't want to drive into the cities. Nearest town is Lanark, with local shopping and supermarkets, although there are a couple of smaller shops in the nearby town of Forth.
