  • "Corner cottage was perfect for our needs, roomy , spacious and very comfortable, its bigger than we expected."

We all appreciated the welcome from Sue and also the tea/coffee, milk, toilet rolls and dog treats etc. provided (saved a trip straight out to the shop).Beach is 100 yards away, shop is 100 yards away. Flossy our dalmatian loved it so much she didn't want to come home until we promised we will book again.

Very well equipped, and very spacious. There is a lot of noise from the road but we got used to it after a couple of nights. A great place to stay to explore the surrounding area.

It was immaculate. Sue was a brilliant host. She met me at the cottage upon arrival and showed me everything I needed to know as well as giving me recommendations for days out. So many lovely little personal touches including treats for my little dog. I cannot recommend this beautiful property enough. I will definitely be back. Thank you Sue for allowing me to stay in this treasure. Brilliant holiday

  • "Cottage very comfortable, clean and well equipped."

Lovely outdoor space, secure for dog. Location great a few minutes away from the beach. Although on a busy road did not affect our comfort. Only suggestion for improvement would be blinds at front window to allow greater privacy

Thank you very much for the lovely feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. In regard to the blinds at the front window, we tried to add them previously, however this made the room very dark. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Had a great little break."

The property was really lovely and was completely ideal for our family of 4. Spotlessly clean, luxurious beds and bedding, couldn't have asked for more. A stone's throw from the beach, which was great.

  • "Delighted the cottage was cosy for us arriving."

Everything provided was of a good quality. There have been some comments on reviews about traffic noise and it is mentioned on the listing. We live in a city and so used to noise, the traffic at the cottage was in the background yes, but certainly not intrusive. The location for long walks on the beach and roads to get elsewhere is excellent.

Girvan. It was so handy for the beach 2 minutes away, my dog loved it. My host Sue was amazing. Highly recommended. 5 stars to Sue who provided much more than was expected. Dog bowls biscuits and poo bags.

  • "The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and clean and is well within walking distance to the town, pubs, restaurants, shops and the beach."

However it is located on a road which is the direct route to the ferry port, consequently there is heavy traffic both day and night.

Many thanks for your feedback. We do hope that the picture of the property clearly shows that it is on a road junction and we try to be as transparent as possible by including information in the advert that the property is on the busy main coast road and that associated noise may be heard from traffic. We’re glad that you still enjoyed yourselves and that you found our property comfortable, well equipped and clean. Property Owner

Small touches of a few dish wash tabs, a few laundry tabs and bin liners cling film tinfoil , washing up liquid etc hugely appreciated so you don’t need to buy even small packs . Spotless and plenty of nice quality kitchenware and outdoor space and bbq if you blessed with weather

  • "This property is in a great location for walkers and dog walkers alike, being a stones throw from the beach and a short hop into Galloway Forest Park which is beautiful."

If you like your history the area has it in spades, from Robert the Bruce to Robert Burns and myriad abbey and castle ruins to wander around. The house itself was great, sparkling clean, comfortable and with everything we needed to cook, clean and entertain ourselves. Being film buffs we found the large TV, in particular, fantastic in the evenings! The proximity to the main road didn't bother us at all, though we were in the rear bedroom. The kingsize bed was very comfortable with lovely bedding so no problems sleeping. Girvan, like so many of our coastal towns, is in need of a little love but still has everything you might need from restaurants to supermarkets. The sea front is a delight for dog walkers with plenty of grassy areas and firm sand when the tide is out. The views out to Ailsa Craig and Arran are amazing on a clear day and all the people we met along the way were very friendly. If you fancy a cheeky breakfast on your walk, David's Snack Bar is a short walk along the front and comes highly recommended! Sue was the perfect host who met us as we arrived, gave us a quick tour of the house and left some essentials in case we needed them. We're missing Girvan and Ayrshire already, we'll definitely be back!

It has a double and twin single beds, lovely surprising touch from owners, with milk, tea, coffee etc supplied on arrival, this was a welcome surprise because we had just driven a long 7 hour journey. Would thoroughly recommend and it was very reasonably priced.

It is in a great location for the beach and town centre with all its amenities including supermarket, petrol station, shops and leisure centre, it is also on quite a busy road, however the traffic noise did not bother us. The outside courtyard is perfect for dogs, secure and paved so no muddy paws to worry about. The coffee, tea and biscuits were very welcome after our long journey and even though we arrived really late the owner Sue was there to meet us on arrival and show us round. We would definitely stay here again! :-)

Ideal for a couple or family of four, this lovely, semi-detached property offers a contemporary feel inside and its very own enclosed courtyard for soaking up a summer's afternoon.

The entrance hallway leads through to a plush, L-shaped sitting room at the front of the house, where you can sink into the sofa and unwind with a hot beverage.

There is a gas fire warming the room and a wall-mounted Smart TV with Freesat and a Blu-ray player.

If nothing on TV takes your fancy, grab a board game off the shelf or enjoy a read of a book in a quiet corner of the house.

An archway leads through to the kitchen, which is fitted with well-stocked wooden units and modern appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine.

The dining area rests to the left in an alcove of the room, with a door leading out to the garden.

Climb the carpeted staircase to the bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin with crisp linens and quality storage units.

From the back bedroom, you can see the sea and surrounding hills.

Just across the hall is the family bathroom, playing host to a walk-in shower cubicle, bath and heated towel rail, whether you want to indulge in a hot soak or grab a quick morning wash.

However, if you are over six foot, just be mindful of the restricted head height in this cottage bathroom.

The property is just 50 yards from the vast Girvan beach with many delightful walks within easy reach, including the popular Ayrshire Coastal Path.

Cyclists are encouraged to bring their bikes along and ride across Turnberry Beach or through the Galloway Forest Park in the quiet, unspoilt countryside.

There are pubs, restaurants and bars found locally and the nearest shop is just a 1 minute walk away.

If you fancy a round of golf, there is the Girvan Golf Course, which combines links and parkland, whilst the world-famous golf links course is a few miles up the coast in Turnberry.

Other attractions include the Stumpy Tower, originally built as a prison, as well as The McKechnie Institute in the town centre displaying some fascinating historical exhibits.
