  • "This property was much bigger than we initially expected it would be."

It was exceptionally clean , well presented and maintained and very comfortable. There were some nice thoughtful touches and a lovely welcome pack. We had no issues at all, and would be happy to stay again. The weather was not kind to us but the property certainly made up for it.

It's a wonderful, clean, spacious and peaceful bungalow - a home from home. We'd love to stay again.

  • "The bungalow is a real home from home and I can recommend as a multi generation holiday stay."

It is ideally situated for trips into Chester and the surrounding areas by car, public transport, bike or walking on cycle routes. The owner actively seeks feedback from your stay and has been very proactive on comments left by previous guests with regards to maintenance or the addition of items such as black out blinds, over shower caddy, clothes dryer etc which we were able to benefit from. The bungalow was fresh and all areas were clean when we arrived. The beds are comfortable and the cupboards have lots of additional pillows, blankets and spare bedding should you need them. A very well equipped and run property.

  • "The cottage was excellent, really enjoyed our stay."

As three generations, it was excellent having 3 places to watch tv, on the odd occasion we were not playing games or cards. Lovely kitchen wish i had one that size at home, everything we needed at more in the kitchen and the rest of the house. Will be back next time we are done in Chester. We left a few things in comments that were things that could help like us that are older and disabled for the bathroom, like a stool on also there was a metal rack for putting your soap etc but it was on the floor and difficult to get it, one that went over the top would be easier. Must not forget the lovely welcome basket, wine, biscuits, cheese, fruit juice, milk . An excellent property .

  • "We loved our stay in the very comfortable bungalow."

The bathroom was large and so was the conservatory. The beds were comfortable. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The goodies left for us were very welcome and a lovely touch. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have properly big mugs for our morning coffee. The cul-de-sac was nice and quiet and with local amenities very close by. It's a great location to explore Chester and the wider area. We loved it so much we've already booked to stay again!

Very comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Very quiet residential area with good bus routes into Chester. In over 20 years of staying in self catering accommodation this has to be one of the best properties we have stayed in!

  • "Very Nice bungalow, very clean and quiet."

everything is provided that one would expect and a few things more.. The only things I would change are adding linings to the curtains, if you are a fairly light sleeper, the curtains are so thin that the light comes through at 4 am. A black bin liner hung over them soon sorted it. A clothes line would be useful to hang out the towels to dry. The location is very good and the general quality is really excellent. Quite happy to use it again.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and very much hope you will revisit. The bungalow is in a particularly sunny location and we have taken on your point about daylight coming through on summer mornings. We are having black out blinds installed in the bedrooms shortly to address this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. With our kindest regards PS Blackout blinds now installed and clothes airer supplied - thanks again.for your helpful suggestions Property Owner

A great effort has been made to provide everything one could need for an ideal and relaxing holiday. A perfect location for peace and quiet but nearby bus stops allows anyone who wishes to leave their car on the drive and take advantage of the excellent local bus services.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We aim to make your stay at Marl Croft as enjoyable as possible so are very pleased you found everything in order and had a pleasant and relaxing time. The property's suburban location near to Caldy Valley Nature Park does means it is away from the hustle and bustle of the Chester city, yet close enough to walk in or go by bus if, as you say, you want to leave the car behind. • "Marl Croft was a nice bungalow that felt like a peaceful retreat."

It was well situated with easy access to the A55 into Wales or alternatively Ellesmere Port and the retail outlet but in a quiet location with nothing but birdsong in the morning. There is also a good sized sainsburys in 5 mins walking distance. We walked from here up towards town along Dee banks with views over the river and meadows - it’s a 40 min walk with kids but worth it. The house itself was clearly recently refurbished and the bedding was all new, with very comfortable beds. There was plenty of space for our family of five. We had a couple of issues we reported at the end of our stay and they were resolved by the property owner who responded quickly. Thank you also for the coronation day basket of treats on our arrival- a really lovely surprise!

Thank you very much for your positive feedback and kind words about the bungalow and its location. We are so pleased you enjoyed your time at Marl Croft. We really want the property to be a home from home and so we were pleased that we were able to address everything to your satisfaction. We very much hope you will all stay again. About the location

CHESTER

Liverpool 17 miles; Manchester 36 miles.

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.
