“We loved this very beautiful 17th Century house - everything about it was exceptionally tasty - the furniture, the WARM tiled floors throughout the ground floor (perfect for my preferred bare feet!”
). The bedrooms upstairs were delightful with sumptuous beds, and the 2 bathrooms - one upstairs and one downstairs - were a pleasure to use. The huge garden, bountiful with apples, was such a treat for us Londoners! I made apple crumble, apple pie and apple sauce ... and we are still eating them, all taken from the ground! We ate all 7 breakfasts outside in the beautiful sunshine. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates and bowls - and there was a dishwasher that I wasn't expecting! With a washing machine and a dryer in the fab little alcove lobby, you didn't need to use the clothesline right down the back of the garden; but I did because the clothes all dried in a few hours and were already ironed by the sun! We had our bikes with us and so sampled everywhere we could - the Peterborough Green Wheel was most convenient and a great ride. We walked many long walks, often culminating at Nene Country Park. Queued (during pandemic) for coffee at Lakeside - both cafes - but just don't bother because they coffees were terrible! We ended up making our own with the percolator at the house! Much nicer! We all ate one evening at The Cuckoo pub, but frankly we weren't impressed. It was pleasant enough with a big noisy crowd, but the food really wasn't exceptional by any means. We took to eating at the house every other evening - much more convivial and fun! All in all, a very delightful stay thank you.
