“Great property( a little quirky ), low doorways, so remember to duck.”

Well supplied in kitchen, with everything needed. Kitchen & dining tables, great size ( mind the candelabra over dining table when rising!). Could be a little more comfort in living room, & bedroom furniture. Location excellent for I & my wife, plenty of shopping areas not to far. Bags of walks, and, places to visit, once again nearby. Garden, excellent, especially all the visiting wildlife. ( Did think, the shed was haunted, heard scraping noises every late evening, from that area!!). All in all, excellent host, great property, could have stayed longer.

“The accommodation at 14 Church Street, Alwalton was superb, an absolute delight and a real find!”

Very clean, every need considered and catered for. Situated in an idyllic location, large garden - none of us under 16, nonetheless we enjoyed playing badminton, bat and ball. We also made use of the games supplied. The kitchen had everything you could possibly think of. Owner left welcome supplies (biscuits, fruit and wine) - a lovely touch. We found the location ideal to visit Peterborough, Cambridge, Ely (Cathedral), Belvoir Castle, Stamford and much more! Also a delight for nature lovers as garden visited by numerous different animals and birds!

“A beautiful stone cottage with a huge back garden and very spacious inside.”

We were amazed to find such an idyllic village tucked away from the A1, easy for visiting Peterborough and beyond and for RSPB sites. It was really warm and cosy with plenty of wood for the burner if required. The bedrooms were bigger than the photos suggested and the large upstairs landing a lovely space. It was great to have a bath during which you could see the beautiful magnolia tree from the window right next to you! The bedroom doors were low so there were a few bumped heads but it all added to the charm! A modern pub (The Cuckoo), 2min walk away was friendly with a great menu. Would gladly return again if we wanted to visit that area again.

Well equipped and very warm on the ground floor due to under floor heating. Nice village with tea room, shop, post office, pub and Church. Buses from village to Peterborough and Oundle. Perfect cottage.

“Loveliest cottage we ever stayed in.”

Comfortable, cozy, clean, and roomy. The owners are very accommodating, and left us some nice treats with a bottle of wine upon arrival. We also loved the rural, beautiful countryside of Alwalton, and city amenities not so far away. Simply a fabulous place to stay. I would rate this a 10 out of a possible 10.

“Escape to the country”

We loved this cottage for our Easter break. It is so near to the A1,but in a very quiet village with a lovely pub who does fab food.the cottage is well equipped and was perfect for our little grandson,2year old.we had a wonderful egg hunt in the huge garden where it was safe for him to play.It is also close to some interesting towns and villages also country houses. We would love to return to This cottage in the future.

“fab cottage”

Recently stayed at 14 church street alwalton for a week in june accomadation fab period cottage in superb village setting close to the a1 but still very quiet. Ideal for visiting stamford and cambridge only four miles to peterborough local shop / post office and pub in village can recommend.

“14 Church Street, Alwalton”

This property is in an ideal location for the holiday we had in mind when we booked. Close to Peterborough, very close to A1 access (without any traffic noise) and with easy access to London on the train either from Peterborough or Huntingdon, close to Oundle and Stamford. The cottage is extremely well appointed with off road parking, a large garden and with space and comfort inside, having been upgraded to a high standard.

“Perfection!”

This is a delightful cottage, beautifully appointed, with everything that one could wish for in a holiday home. It was lovely to find the welcome bottle of wine and the bowl of fruit. We loved the well-thought out access through a utility area so that wet boots, coats etc could be disposed of without encroaching on the rooms themselves. A slightly clearer description of the whereabouts of the smallest bedroom would have relieved us of some anxiety - I had visualised having to go through my son's room to the bathroom. In fact I shared the twin-bedded room with my grand-daughter and my four year old grandson was delighted with his "secret room" which led off ours and not off the main bedroom as I think it said in the description. All in all however, we had a perfect break and are planning on a return visit sometime next year...

Alwalton is well served by a village shop with a post office and tea rooms, a church and a pub. Peterborough enjoys good shopping facilities with precincts, out of town shopping and an undercover market. Peterborough Cathedral has a beautiful 12th century painted ceiling and museum where you can join a ghost tour if you dare!
