  • "Nub End is well located in Downham for accessing facilities in the local area."

    It has all the facilities you would expect in a house and parking is available 100m uo the one-way system at a very cheap rate. The landlord is more than amicable and pleasant and was available to deal with any request. All in all Nub End is a worth while place for those looking to explore the area.

The property

Built in 1843 is this traditional end-terrace cottage, Nub End, ideal for a small family or a couple to explore the delights of Norfolk.

Offering two bedrooms and charming artwork scattered throughout the property, while being close to the local high street and amenities, this property serves as a wonderful base for exploring the area.

Arriving at the cottage, unload your luggage before parking at the nearby free carpark and making your way into your home away from home.

Entering the sitting room, a TV with a DVD player and an electric stove provide a homely space for you to relax in after an adventurous day.

Beyond here you will find a compact but well-equipped kitchen/diner to rustle up tasty meals for your loved ones, including a dining table for three and an electric oven and hob.

When sleep calls, head upstairs and choose from a double or a single, each of which have ample storage for you to unpack your belongings before resting your head.

Completing the inside is a bathroom home to a bath with a shower over and a toasty heated towel rail where you can freshen up ahead of your day out.

Back on the ground floor, the door from the kitchen leads you to a patio area, perfect for spending the crisp mornings in while savouring a coffee.

Just a short walk away is the Downham town centre, known for being a medieval market town and offering the weekend Downham Market where you can purchase fresh and local produce.

The area is known for its network of waterways so be sure to take advantage of the boatyards and marinas dotted all over and travel via the boats and cruisers.

You will be spoilt for choice when heading out, with numerous footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes available from the doorstep of the cottage; why not venture out to Welney Wash Reserve to spend an afternoon feeding the majestic swans, perfect if you are travelling with younger guests.

A scenic car journey will take you to the bustling town of King's Lynn, home to an array of historic architecture and a picturesque waterfront and seaport.

The town boasts an abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants to fuel your excursions, along with the fascinating Lynn Museum and Stories of Lynn museum so you can brush up on your history.

Heading in the opposite direction, you will come to the city of Ely, which boasts a grand cathedral and a stunning waterside area, perfect for enjoying a riverside lunch with spectacular views.

From Downham Market, a regular train runs into the picturesque city Cambridge, famous for its esteemed university and ancient history and architecture.

The rural Saxon market town of Downham Market is one of the oldest in Norfolk, and is known locally as the gateway to the Fens, renowned for its network of waterways.
