Make the garden look nicer and more inviting. Better parking for motorbikes, not gravel

  • "A lovely lodge, comfy beds, great staff very friendly."

The only problems we had was 1) The BBQ wasn’t clean. We wanted to use it so we decided to clean it ourselves but the produce on the grill would not budget so we cooked our food in the oven. 2) there wasn’t enough Pyrex dishes for the oven, it was okay as there was only 2 of us but the lodge can sleep up to 6 people (2 sofa beds) I think it needs some more dishes/ utensils. The hot tub was cleaned 2 times when we was there which is great! The cafe is 3 steps away and does lovely food. I would point out that it is attached to the reception so you can hear everything being said over there. The pool was okay was dirty along the walk ways as people didn’t take off their shoes. Make sure to go out the back of the site. Google takes you through the farm (we went that way) it is full of steel and wood ect so can end up with popped tyres! Other than that a good stay and we would come back again.

I know the lodge said behind reception but to my husband and i it should of said attached to reception as there was onlt 1 door locked between reception and the cabin

  • "Nuce welcome hamper on arrival I am always honest in my reviews as i rely on others' to book my holidays."

Very dissapointed with no wifi, needed it to check work emails but when i went into reception twice and said the wifi wont connect i was told it was "nothing to do with us" and to just try it outside and see if it works The Hot tub cover was broken and very heavy so impossible to lift over on my own - the pole that you pull it off with was broken and not attached to the cover so was extremely difficult to take the top off, had to just take half off and leave half on The outdoor bulb was popped so i went to reception to say i needed it for the hot tub when it gets dark. They came to fix it however it still did not work, so i went back to reception to say it still doesnt work but nothing was done about this The lodge is actually only half the size , the other half is reception and i wasnt aware of this. Lodge was in a completely different place to the 'luxury lodges' which was a massive let down for me as i wouldnt have booked if i knew it was attached to reception Interior door in the living room leads to the reception but is locked, and can hear everything which was not ideal Terrible bedding and lighting in all rooms Nice and clean but will not be returning

  • "I really enjoyed my holiday at Church View."

A lovely welcome pack awaited me on my arrival with eggs, coffee and tea, and chocolates and wine.. The site itself is beautifully kept with on site walking facilities for dogs, and a tea room on site which provided delicious meals. I had their big breakfast for my lunch on my last day there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff at Reception were always friendly and helpful in answering any queries. The site is not far from local attractions being only a 15 minute drive from Rutland Water. As the cottage is dog friendly, I would suggest a couple more rugs on the floor. My dog's paws kept slipping on the laminated wooden floors, but that is a minor issue. I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and would certainly recommend Rutland Caravan and Camp site as well as Church View as a holiday destination.

  • "What a great lodge!"

So private and clean with a welcome pack too! We enjoyed the pleasant walks around the camp which is dog friendly. The 10 min walk into Greetham was a lovely experience as the weather was amazing for September. We were very lucky to be blessed with 2 sunny hot tub days! With a 30 min free slot in the indoor pool. What a treat!

  • "Loved our stay and the cabin itself was excellent, especially with the little unexpected extras thrown in."

The site and surroundings were perfect. The only very minor feedback that I would give is that this particular accommodation should be advertised as being part of the main reception building. We were a little surprised when we were directed to the rear of the reception office to park the car and then told that this was the cabin!......I think that guests should be made aware of this beforehand as it can be a little off putting with visitors to the site constantly outside your windows. We can only assume that this particular cabin is kept away from the others as it is the only one that allows dogs. Again, I just think it should be made clear beforehand. Other than that cannot fault the place and hope to return

  • "Cabin was lovely and perfectly comfortable."

There was a whole kitchen with all the utensils, plenty of towels for the weekend, a little hamper with milk, eggs, wine, chocolates, fresh bread etc. which was very thoughtful. The site also gives you 30mins free swimming per day at the indoor pool which is about 20seconds from the cabin, well worth booking your slots and getting the whole pool to yourself. Really nice cabin and site, will definitely be coming again.

  • "This lodge had everything that we needed and some we were not expecting like the coffee machine."

We were lucky with the winter weather in that even though it was very cold outside we only had a few hours of rain. The lodge was very warm so was very welcoming after a walk at Rutland water which is only 15 minutes drive away. The on-site cafe was not open for us but was reopening mid Feb I believe so we can’t comment on that. The lodge is on a camping and caravan site which was very clean and tidy and despite it being January had quite a few touring caravans for the weekend. The lodges are separate and all 7 have their own private High fenced garden That was not overlooked allowing privacy when using the hot tub. The village and nearest pub the plough is only a 5 to 10 minutes walk and did lovely food and welcoming staff. There is also another pub that was a further 5 minutes walk , cannot comment on the food as we only had a drink. The welcome hamper was a nice touch and appreciated. The only suggestion to visitors is to make sure you take a torch as when it gets dark it is a very dark walk back from the village pub. We have both said that we will return. The only suggestion for the lodge is perhaps something to put muddy boots on.

  • "The picture misrepresent the accommodation as I would not expect the lodge to be connected to the reception and would have thought it would have been detached."

There is no mention that the lodge looks like part of the park staff accommodation as proved by other holiday makers knocking on the window expecting me to sort out a power cut . The interior was first class and cosy and clean and warm .

It was so peaceful and relaxing that’s just what we needed. Having a little welcome gift (food and Prosecco) was a lovely touch. Staff were very friendly and we are already looking to book again. Me and my partner have fallen in love with Rutland and the surrounding areas, We can’t wait to visit again.

Not great when you have dogs with you. Hinge was so noisy with the slightest movement, it woke you up. Was also an unpleasant background distraction. Borrowed some WD40 from reception, which helped. Everything else was very good.
