  • "Great house for large group of people especially the downstairs area."

Some of the bedrooms were a little cosy (no room for bedside tables or lamps) but overall fine. Fred the owner was very welcoming and accommodating.. Had an issue with the downstairs shower flooding but hopefully Fred will have rectified that before the next people arrive. Overall a very good house in an excellent position. Thank you Fred. Would be happy to return.

  • "I loved everything about this property."

It is beautiful and well kept and I am exceptionally happy about this booking . The manager was very helpful and very professional. He made sure we were happy and just a phone call away All my guest loved this property and have alredy made plans to rebook. Defo recommended for a family holiday. My only recommendation is for the owner to put a sign to say the visitors have arrived as most of my guest got lost. Otherwise most exceptional booking I have ever had.

The perfect property for our family to get together and enjoy each others company. Location for us was key easy for us all to get to. It was important for us to have downstairs facilities for Great Grandma and the space for an 8 month old to explore in his walker. All in all a great weekend.

Beautiful location overlooking the countryside albeit a very quiet village. Everyone in our group from aged 4 to 64 really enjoyed their stay. Would recommend a larger barbecue and maybe a Hot Tub would improve still further.

  • "The Mayfair provided our party of family and friends with the ideal location to share time whilst celebrating our daughter and son in law’s wedding at a nearby venue."

The spacious, bright and well-appointed kitchen dining & sitting area was a perfect space in which to enjoy relaxed meals and chatting time. Fred was also very helpful in answering any queries we had. However, as this is advertised as a high end property, we feel there are a few additions which should be made to match up to what one would expect from a property such as this - first and foremost, proper signage from the road would save last minute confusion when finding the property. In the house it still feels a little incomplete - the bedrooms would be much more welcoming with bedside lamps, and bedside tables throughout. The three bedrooms which share the family bathroom would benefit from having mirrors, and consistency of towel, bath mat and pillow provision would make for a better experience. In the kitchen a garlic press and bread knife would be helpful, and a cafetière or filter coffee machine for making coffee - the machine provided requires nespresso pods which not everyone would automatically bring, and there were none provided. With these few minor improvements this property would certainly have received a five star rating from us.

I stayed at the Mayfair for my birthday (end of feb) with a group of my friends and had the most amazing time . Not only did we have a great host who was available to assist anytime we text but also the photos do not do the property justice. Property 10/10 and would recommend to anyone looking for a staycation. Perfect for groups and would be even better in summer

It was my 23rd birthday and we were after a relaxing weekend away, which is exactly what we got. We watched movies on the large TV and took walks in the country side. It was lovely! The owner was one of the nicest and most polite person I have ever met. We made us feel extremely comfortable at the property and was very quick to help us with any problems we had. Lovely man and lovely property. I would highly highly recommend staying at this property! It is worth every penny.

The house is as amazing as it looks and it was perfect for a large group of friends to enjoy a weekend away. The views were stunning and the bedrooms were all extremely comfortable. We went for a walk/hike in the gorgeous surrounding area and there is a shop with all the essentials located just a 3 minute walk away. Plenty of room for parking but you will be blocking each other in! The systems are very easy to use and Fred is very thorough when he meets you. It may be useful to have a 'guide' within the property to say the Wi-Fi password and how to use the TVs etc but we figured it all out quite easily once we scouted the property! Will definitely look to stay here again or in one of Fred's other properties. An incredible weekend away! Thank you!!

Super clean on arrival also which made us feel safe considering covid. • "The Mayfair was a superb property for our much needed and long awaited family holiday."

The ground floor of the house is larger than it appears in the photos and there was plenty of room for us (7 adults 4 children and a dog) not to feel as if we were on top of each other. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The kitchen is well equipped and the fridge and freezer were large enough for us. Clothes storage was not great in some bedrooms but not a huge problem for us. The only other thing I felt it would have benefited from was bedside lamps as the bedroom lighting was very bright. We had a wonderful week away from the madness of the world it was great to have a semblance of normality. We would definitely recommend this place and would return. Fred was a great host, keeping in touch to make sure everything was ok.

  • "This is a beautiful holiday home in a very small country village - ideal for a family get together/ holiday."

Newmarket is a 10 minute drive and Cambridge is 20 minutes away. We also visited Linton zoo (near Cambridge) and the Sedgwick Museum. We took a paddling pool and scooters for the children to play with and there was plenty of space for Hugo our dog. It was extremely hot the week that we visited (16 July 2021) so we drove to the large Tesco (10 minutes) to buy fans. We also saw the small airplanes practicing for the weekend show as Duxford is also nearby. The owner / Management company were always pleasant and helpful - You will enjoy your stay!

  • "Had a wonderful time at the house."

Welcomed by owner Ben and we had got there early (traffic good!!) and that was no issue for him. Showed us around and explained everything to us. So much space for the food and drink and accessories we had brought. It was an extremely hot weekend and we could have done with opening top floor windows but generally all was fantastic. Issue in area Saturday with the WiFi and Ben kept us up to date forwarding the sky texts! 4 of the rooms didn’t have any wardrobes/hooks to hang things up (v new house) and Ben apologised, saying still trying to get everything together. Ben open to all our feedback so I’m sure next time we go back it will be 100% complete. (Was little things that didn’t ruin our weekend) The lounge room was perfect for the football. Would advise if partying just be sure to close the big bifold doors if your loud (after 22:00 I’d say) as the noise travels and neighbours close by can hear but generally we LOVED the stay (looked at Xmas but already booked)! Will defo be back next year!!
