  • "Positives: the location was quiet and relaxing, and the local people were friendly and helpful."

The room was bright and well set out, and there was plenty of clean bedding and towels. The shower was clean, and the bed comfortable. There was milk provided on our arrival, which was appreciated as we could have a cuppa. Negatives: the flat and crockery hadn't been cleaned properly, the cooking facilities and fridge didn't function adequately and there was a lack of some basic items (cooking oil, hand wash, washing up liquid and toilet tissues). In the evening the flat was full of mosquitoes and insects. If we’d known this we would probably have chosen a different venue. Overall the impression was that many of the owners decisions had been made purely to save the pennies, and this left us feeling a bit 'unloved'.

Watlington is a good base to discover the many features of North Norfolk. It has a good pub, railway station, chippie, village hall, mini market and lots of short country walks.

  • "We stayed in the Hayloft for six nights."

On arrival we were delighted to find milk and orange juice in the fridge - we'd brought supplies but that was lovely and unexpected. The room was comfortable and the view from the balcony great. Our stay was very pleasant, it's so quiet apart from the birds in the early morning. We'd definitely reccommend this place.

  • "We loved our stay here and have already booked again."

This property is bright, fresh and very clean. We received a warm welcome and even an arrival basket with biscuits, juice, milk etc which was welcome. It has a white wash/beach house type feel and the design of the hayloft means that there is pretty much everything you need all very neatly placed. There are plenty of kitchen utensils, glasses, crockery etc and enough hanging space and drawers for a small family. There is wi fi and plenty of plug sockets which is great. There is a Comfortable Super king size bed which can be made into two singles on request and there is an additional sofa bed. It is situated in a very quiet area, Infact we heard absolutely nothing for the whole week! The balcony over looks a field and it's lovely to sit out there on a pleasant day. It's quite close to a pub and shop. Both are a short walk away. We had a lovely week here and will be returning soon!

King's Lynn is a historic, medieval port dating back to the 12th century, situated on the River Great Ouse. A treasure trove for history lovers, the town boasts grand merchant houses, art galleries and museums, and the Custom House, built by Henry Bell in 1683, which is a Grade I listed building. The town retains its original winding streets and alleys, and boasts good shopping facilities, with a combination of national retailers and specialist shops, along with a selection of pubs and restaurants. Much of the surrounding Norfolk countryside is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the West Norfolk coastline within easy driving distance. Hunstanton, in particular, is renowned for its sunsets and lovely beaches.
