  • "This was our 4th year staying at Bluebell and we absolutely love it."

It is quite tricky to find the very 1st time you go but the directions are great and as long as you follow them fully you will find it. As always it was spotlessly clean with everything that we could need for our stay. The location is just perfect for a week away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just being able to relax. It is so very peaceful nestled in the valley surrounded by beautiful mature gardens, a field, trickling stream & woodland. In the field this year were 6 horses instead of the usual daft sheep and being able to watch the horses up close and see them play together was just magical. It was quiet comical seeing them looking in the windows of an evening when we were watching TV with the blinds up so see what we were doing. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but literally 8-10mins in the car gets you to a Co-op or big supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s / M&S Food, Lidl & Aldi etc and Wrexham itself obviously. We love staying at Bluebell and hope to be back again next year.

  • "Delightful Lodge in quiet rural location."

Loved the peacefulness, the beautiful garden and the horses in the field behind. Close enough to travel to quite a few national trust properties, our favourite being Bodnant and Powis Castle. We had a lovely holiday with plenty of wet weather options for inevitable downpours! Lodge itself was comfy and well equipped for everything you need.

  • "The lodge was lovely and bright."

We used this as a base for convenience as we were visiting local family. I loved how open it was and would definitely stay again. There was another review that mentioned the key sticking but I found it fine when you remove it on the side rather than upright. Everything you need is provided apart from a hair dryer.

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. There is a hairdryer in the chest of drawers in the main bedroom. There is now 2 , I bought another one today. Property Owner

  • "The property was good and we enjoyed it."

Some little improvements / maintenance could be done , the back door lock needs adjusting you have to force it to lock it. We would have prefered some way to get fresh air in at night in the bedrooms. The bathroom window needs a fly screen on the outside. The lounge/ kitchen area would benefit from some low soft lighting. The bathroom cabinet lighting would be better if it worked. These comments are because you have asked , and not a moan.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. You have to turn the key in the lock 90 degrees. They are high security locks . There is a standard lamp in the corner of the lounge , behind the settee for more gentle lighting. The lounge and kitchen have separate lighting circuits, so each one can be turned on or off. The high level windows in The double bedroom can be left open and the twin bedroom windows can be locked open. There is a fan in the bathroom , so you don’t need to open the window. Property Owner

  • "This is such an amazing place to stay."

Its close enough to get to places around but you are in your own peaceful sanctuary. Its equipped with everything you possibly need. Its spacious, light and is surrounded by such a lovely garden and as my son said " you can 'njoy such a lovely view" The driveway looked like parts had been washed away so we left the car at the bottom. There's a park close by, there's many little walks, you aren't far from Wrexham or Brymbo but I'd say head to Betsy W Coed and if you are up that way, see Conwy Castle and Llandudno. Alwyn Country Park is lovely too. The cottage has a big kitchen equipped with every tool required. The log burner was stacked for us to use. Washing machine for our well used mucky clothes. So many books and games to read we didn't have the TV on once. We visited late October and the colours around were just amazing. Thank you for letting us share your beautiful home and we hope to come back really soon

As previously mentioned by others would love to visit again but can’t due to the new no dogs rule :(

Locals were very friendly. Lots of places to walk and not far drive to local shops .The lodge was clean well equipped and the garden was amazing .Waking up in the morning to the sheep outside was lovely. It's so sad that the owner is not going to allow dogs anymore as our two loved the open space and walks on the door step. It's a shame other people don't respect other people's property. • "A beautiful, quiet location."

Facilities were definitely adequate, although I had to reorganise some of the cooking equipment in order to have a cupboard to store our food. We found the bathroom door from the living area difficult to bolt. Not that it bothered us as a couple, but friends or families sharing together might find it an inconvenience. The whole place was light and airy. ln fact, we would have appreciated lined curtains in the bedroom to help with the early morning light. Whilst information about places to visit does not change much, more up to date pamphlets about attractions would certainly look better to the visitor. The garden area to sit and relax in was very nice.

  • "An absolute gorgeous wooden lodge/cabin set in an interesting garden."

The living area was exceptionally spacious, roughly measuring 16/17mts in length by about 5mts width. Fantastic stove with sufficient logs and kindling that warmed the entire cabin after an hour or so of being lit. All kitchen essentials, good appliances and bathroom and bedroom also comfortable. Perhaps the recycling and general rubbish could be a bit more explanatory within the cabin folder. We had two dogs with us and there are walks either side of the parking space, both on a slight incline but not too difficult. Not a huge amount to do in the local vicinity but if its peace and tranquility you want, go for it, you won't be disappointed. Fantastic accommodation

An absolute real gem of a place in such a secluded setting which was perfect in every way for us and our little dogs who loved mooching around the secure garden. Without a doubt we will be looking to book again as it’s so near my elderly mum so ideal location for us to visit her and so many lovely walks nearby. Everything in the The lodge was so well thought out with such detail for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thankyou so much for allowing us to stay there with our fur babies. • "Bluebell is the most beautiful holiday letting that we have ever stayed in."

The location is simply stunning as it is nestled into the small welsh valley and ypu are surrounded by a gorgeous garden and the welsh hills. Bluebell itself is just perfect, you have all the mod cons and essentials that you could possibly need and it has been built and decorated to a very high standard. There is no phone signal (a total blessing!) but the wifi works very well should you feel the need to converse with the outside world. The location is great for doing day trips to Chester, Llangollen etc and is just a short drive away from pubs/shops. The place is just so tranquil and idyllic that when you are there you really dont want to leave. If you want a lovely quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of your stressful working/normal life then you really wont regret booking Bluebell. One thing to note when driving there - when you get to the end of the directions given you need to drive ahead and drive under the viaduct that will be in front of you and take the left track over the little bridge - drive past the gardens which will be on your right and the parking is by the top gate (we found it easier to turn around after the little bridge and reverse up to the parking space) Enjoy your holiday - we definitely did.

  • "The lodge is in a lovely setting and I think the early reviews reflect that as it is the ideal property to ‘live outdoors’ at."

However, now that the nights are drawing in I think the property could do with a bit of TLC - the chairs were old and uncomfortable, the tv was only programmed with CBeebies (and you don’t feel like you have the right to mess) and one of the single mattresses was very old and uncomfortable. It would feel cosier with curtains or blinds, too. To find the property it is best to programme your satnav with ‘15 Valley Road’. From there you just go under the viaduct, the road immediately splits into three and you take the left fork. If you just put the postcode in it takes you to the other end of the road and you can’t get through.

About the location

BRYMBO

Brynteg 1.5 miles; Gwynfryn 3.2 miles; Wrexham 4.8 miles.

Brymbo is a large village in Wrexham, Wales. It is situated just under five miles away from the bustling town centre of Wrexham, offering a variety of distinctive shops and a selection of fine pubs and restaurants. Historically, the village dates back to the Bronze Age, with evidence having been discovered regarding a burial site in 1958. The site was found alongside a flint knife and an earthenware beaker and the remains of a man they named 'Brymbo Man'. While historical buildings are in short supply in this village, there are a few which are of industrial archaeological interest. This attractive town makes an inspiring choice from which to further explore the surrounding regions of Cheshire and Wales.
