  • "Very clean."

Not well equipped, lack of pots and cutlery etc Key to apartment not working well until one morning we came out and then wanted to go back for the map Couldn’t get the key to open door, phoned caretaker no reply. After an hour sent text. Eventually she phoned and said four spare keys with apartment numbers on in store room. The keys had no numbers on and two were broken even though she told us there hadn’t been a problem with locks. Eventually at 2pm she arranged a locksmith who had to drill the lock out. He told us that the apartments had illegal locks as in case of fire you couldn’t exit without a key We spent nearly all day wandering around Chester waiting for a solution

  • "There are two worrying points: Firstly, there are no instructions in the flat about the use of the appliances (with which foreign guests may not be familiar) nor for the disposable of rubbish."

Secondly, the main door of the building downstairs is in a bad state and offers little security and your directions for access are not accurate, as there is no lever to lift after you punch in the code.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. The apartments form part of a period/character building within the city walls of Chester and as such, the door is original and was refurbished last year. The door is secured by way of a code-activated panel and we do rely on occupiers to ensure that the lock properly engages on entry and exit. We also have additional security features and CCTV and have not suffered any issues. We will revisit the entry instructions and ensure they are clear. Regards the appliances, we do have instruction manuals in the apartments, but we are also working up a visitor file with summary instructions, which will hopefully be a little more user-friendly. • "Hello, Though the location and the cleanliness of the property were wonderful we were without internet access (which is listed as an amentity) our entire stay."

This proved to be very difficult on many levels. I was to be working remotely during part of our stay and was unable to do so. Also, my provider bill is now quite exorbitant. I attempted to rectify the situation with several phone calls as well as emails. Absolutely nothing was done. I was told the internet provider, BT, was down. This proved to be false as my daughter who is a student at the uni has BT as a provider and her service was never interrupted. To be without internet for an entire 8 days is simply ridiculous. I kindly request partial refund for this major inconvience.

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, the WiFi outage was an off-site fault and we were at the mercy of BT/Openreach. The fault has now been rectified and full service restored, but we apologise for the inconvenience caused. Property Owner

About the location

CHESTER

  • Liverpool 17 miles
  • Manchester 36 miles

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.
