  • "The cottage was stunning."

Very modern, spacious and above all so clean and well equipped.Don’t be put off by the narrow lane leading to it - we never encountered any problems. Loads of local walks - straight from the cottage doorstep! Wadebridge is a very pleasant town with plenty of shops and supermarkets as well as bike hire outlets. We hired bikes for a day and cycled the Camel Trail - a great way to spend a day. Jim, the farmer/ owner was really welcoming and so friendly. We enjoyed our stay so much that we’ve rebooked for later in the year.

  • "Lovely cottage in a lovely peaceful setting on a working farm."

The secluded rear garden was a bonus! Owners very pleasant and helpful, even leaving us a card and some fizz to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. Very much appreciated, thank you. Lot’s to see and do in the local area and we were lucky with the weather! It may be useful to know that we were able to pre-book a shopping delivery from a supermarket so we didn’t have to waste time with basic grocery shopping. However there are plenty of local farm shops offering good local produce. A great week thank you!

  • "We holidayed here late August."

Jimmy (the owner)was very nice, polite & helpful we knew he was there if we needed anything. The cottage was spotlessly clean & is well situated to travel to tourist areas but is off the beaten track to not see or hear anything other than the birds, bees & local farm animals. As we live in a city this was an added bonus to be able sit outside & just hear nature at it's best.We did feed the birds & it was lovely to see them coming in when we stayed in on very rainy days after storm Francis hit the area. Weather wasn't too bad considering the storm & we only had 2 days of heavy rain tues/thurs. We were a bit weary of how busy the whole of the area was & people not observing any social distancing. We only ate out once where they didn't take any details of track/trace which really put us off so we choose to eat back at the cottage where as normally like to eat out each night as we are on holiday but at least we had a lovely little patio area to sit on & chill with a glass when the weather allowed. We would definitely recommend this cottage & would book again if in the area.

The owners are a lovely couple, they have lived there forty years. They do not bother you, but live on site, if you require their assistance. We would certainly stay again, if we ever visit Cornwall in the future. Alvyn

  • "The directions that we were given could have been a little clearer."

You need to pass through one farm then up a further narrow lane as far as you can you go until you reach the end. Skylark is through the white gates on the right. The property was great, very well presented and we were met by the owner. There are other holiday lets within the farm but they're very discrete and you're not overlooked. It's very quiet and peaceful. If getting online is important to you then be aware that there's no WiFi - so we just used the personal hotspot on our phones. Camelford is a good base from which to get to Port Isaac, Bodmin, Bude, Newquay etc. We would definitely stop there again.

Future cottages have now a lot to live up to! On arrival the owners were there to meet us and over the week were very friendly but not intrusive. The cottage is on a working farm but is still peaceful. Skylark itself is immaculate, extremely comfortable and is decorated to a very high standard. The garden is a haven for bird life. Ideal for touring this part of Cornwall. Padstow, Bude, Port Isaac and Bodmin are just a short drive away. A must for any visitor is the beautiful At Nectan's glen and waterfall near Tintagel again only a short drive away. Would definitely recommend Skylark!

PEACE AND QUIET IN ABUNDANCE WITH A PRIVATE GARDEN TO RELAX IN DURING THE ALMOST-TOO-HOT, SUNNY WEATHER IN THE LATTER PART OF OCTOBER, AND WELL-LOCATED FOR AN EASY DRIVE TO EXPLORE THE GRANDEUR OF THE NORTH CORNWALL COAST. • "Our only concern is that although it claims to be suitable for the disabled there is only a red pull cord in the bathroom, the toilet is raised and the doors are wider than normal."

Access to the property would be difficult with a wheelchair bound person due to the steps and the stoned car parking area. My partner also had problems getting out of bed during the night and twice slipped to the floor due to the wooden flooring. However this is a beautiful cottage in a tranquil setting and ideal if you want to get away from it all.
