“We had an amazing time staying at otter burn house for 3 nights.”

The pictures online do not do the house justice the house is beautiful with everything on your doorstep with 5 mins drive. The only issue we had is that we found some silver fish on some of the plates in the cupboard maybe this needs a little deep clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was spotless. We felt the property could benefit with a BBQ area and maybe some large lawn games. I will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future but this time with my young ...

The property

Tucked away just outside the thriving town of Bude in Cornwall is Otterburn House, a fantastic detached cottage boasting a fabulous garden with a hot tub.

Sleeping eight guests, with an additional two in the summer house by prior arrangement with the owner, this delightful dwelling is perfect for a family holiday to the beautiful coast.

With spectacular countryside views, and within easy reach to the town centre and beach by car, or a peaceful stroll along the canal path, Otterburn House is ideal for both staying in and enjoying all it has to offer, or as a base for exploring Cornwall.

Arriving at the property, ample off-road parking greets you and a cold-water outdoor shower for rinsing off any sand.

Stepping into the property, three reception rooms provide a space for the group to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the local area, one of which is home to a toasty woodburning stove, perfect for warming your toes in the chillier evenings.

Catering for all, the cottage hosts a study should you need to work throughout your stay, or even just to escape from the group with a cup of tea.

From here, make your way to the magnificent kitchen/diner, fit with all the necessities for your self-catering requirements including electric double ovens and hobs, large fridge/freezers, and an all-important dishwasher to help with the clean up.

The kitchen/diner is sure to be the social hub throughout your stay, featuring chic wooden floors and fixtures and patio doors letting in plenty of air and light into the space.

Gather at the dining table with your loved ones to enjoy a tasty home-cooked meal while you plan your next adventure, before heading off to the bedrooms to get some rest.

Climbing the stairs to the first floor, you will find four well-presented bedrooms; a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and views over the canal and Bude Marshes, a king-size with an en-suite shower room and views over the garden, and two twin rooms provide stylish sleeping quarters throughout your stay.

The first floor is also home to a sleek bathroom where you can indulge with a good book and a bubble bath after a busy day.

Back down the stairs, a handy shower room serves the ground floor so the group can freshen up and prepare for their day, as well as a bright and airy conservatory, so you will be spoilt for choice for places to relax.

The real gemstone of Otterburn House is the garden; throw open the patio doors in the kitchen/diner and step out into the sun.

The garden offers an abundance of entertainment, providing table tennis, as well as a bubbling hot tub, perfect for spending the evenings gazing up at the stars.

Take your dining al fresco and enjoy a summer barbecue before taking a tranquil stroll around the luscious lawn and peering into the delightful pond.

The Summerhouse is in the garden of the main house and includes a bedroom with double bed, a living room with sofa and chair, a loo and sink, tea and coffee making facilities.

Please note there is no shower, bath or cooking facilities, The summerhouse is only available as an add on to a booking for the main house, useful either to take the total sleeping capacity up to ten people or if part of the group wants some separate space, The summerhouse is available for booking at an additional fee.

Please contact if interested.

If you can tear yourself away from this glorious abode, treat your loved ones to a meal out in the town centre.

The Bank at Bude Tapas and Grill offers tapas in a pretty setting along the River Nest or perhaps grab a traditional fish and chip supper to enjoy back at the property.

Within easy reach of the cottage is Summerleaze Beach, where you can enjoy a day of sunbathing, swimming and you can even try your hand at some watersports.

Slightly further afield are the Widemouth Bay and Blackrock beaches, both boasting golden sandy stretches and patrolled by lifeguards throughout the summer months for your peace of mind.

For a spot of history throughout your trip, visit The Castle Bude, a 19th century heritage centre overlooking the sand dunes of Summerleaze Beach and home to a quaint café so you can stop for a coffee and a light lunch during your visit.

Further shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés can be found in Bude and the surrounding towns and villages.

Bring your friends and family to Otterburn House for holiday you will remember for years to come.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
