  • "Although we had a brilliant week, it would have been easier of a night time to have a landing light switch near to bedroom that backs the bathroom."

Would have been great to have had trumble dryer working.

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday at Atlantic View ."

Location was near to Bude and lots of great beaches . The house was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay . Unfortunately the tumble dryer was out of action and the downstairs bathroom had an unpleasant smell . The cushions on sofas had seen better days .

  • "We loved the house, finding it very comfortable with a high standard of cleanliness."

It was extremely well equipped, we are a family that likes to cook, & to find all the utensils & other equipment we needed was brilliant & really added to our enjoyment. The secure garden was of great benefit as we had 2 lively dogs with us, they loved to be able to wander at will. The accommodation set up worked very well, with the downstairs bedroom, toilet & shower making life very easy for my elderly mother. I would highly recommend this property, the owners obviously care a great deal about it & the holiday experience they are providing. One tiny bit of feedback - & this is only to aid the owners, it is in no way a complaint - is that the rotary washing line in the back garden is old, rusting, & has a broken arm. It is not in a usable condition. I am only providing this feedback as I feel the condition of the washing line detracts from the luxury nature of the rest of the house & facilities.

  • "There were several issues with the property which I will list."

The cushions on both sofas were stained, grubby and smelled. Too many doors as it’s such a badly designed property. Kitchen wasn’t easy to use and there was a lack of utensils such as sharp knifes. There’s a very busy main road at the back of the house with a gate leading out onto it. There was a constant smell of petrol fumes and noisy traffic. The line post put the back is rotting and unsafe to use. The downstairs shower room had rust stains all over the floor and mould In the shower cubicle. The house was close to wide mouth bay and Bude. I was not going to leave a review of how we really felt about the property as I don’t normally say anything if where I’m staying is not up to scratch. However I have received 2 emails from Sykes requesting I pay the owner £120 due to small small stains on a pillow case. £120! Let that sink in. Which would have required a 15 minute soak in water and bleach to remove. Whilst we were there our beloved dog of 13 years had to be put to sleep at Tamer vets. We didn’t notice the stains as we were all devastated and grieving. If we had we would have remedied the issue. But to then attempt to charge such an outrageous price to rectify something so simple is disgusting. I think everybody should know this is how these owners are attempting to extort money. This property is not cheap to rent but it seems the owners want to squeeze as much from the renters as possible. As a family we are appalled.

  • "Absolutely loved staying at Atlantic View."

The house was very well presented. Had everything we needed for our stay. Its been a while since we have been back to Cornwall and Poundstock is great for easy access to Bude and the surrounding areas. Some very nice little hidden beaches. We would highly recommend booking Atlantic View if you want a nice break in a very nice house.

  • "An idyllic stay for our Whitsun holiday of 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs."

There was enough space and something for everyone. Even the toys snd books provided were the correct ones for the 2 year old in our group. So thoughtful! We loved the view and eating al fresco. We also loved wstching the sunset on the terrace with a cheeky glass of bubbly. It was a week special memories were made. We would love to return snd everyone in group agrees it was the perfect venue for the perfect week. Thank you Atlantic View :-)

  • "Directions to property ok but could be improved, we took 15 mins driving up and down the lane to find it, not ideal after 8 1/2 hrs drive to get there."

if you said gravel drive is 50 feet from the junction on the right this would solve it. Road noise could be an issue for some it was noticeable but ok, interior dining pace can present limitations but plenty of space on the covered terrace. Situation is very rural but not isolated, so we got the piece and quiet we wanted and Bude is only a few miles away for supplies. Black Rock end of Widemouth Bay a short drive and dog friendly. All in all a very well equipped well furnished and finished house that we would have no problems visiting again, A good base to explore the North Cornish Coast with Boscastle, Tintagel and Padstow being easily reachable.

  • "The cottage was quite lovely and we enjoyed staying there and hopefully will return again."

If you could fit a mirror in the downstairs bed-room it would be very helpful to get dressed. Overall, excellent place to stay Thanks

  • "Amazing cottage in a perfect location."

We had such a great week. The house is a great size with all the space you need. Love the balcony sun trap for a lazy afternoon coffee and the outdoor seating area is perfect. Our only complaint is we booked this house as it accepted two dogs and the garden looked perfect. We have 2 excitable puppies who very quickly learnt that there are 3-4 big holes in the hedge that they could run through and escape up next doors driveway to the A39. Really not safe and I hope it gets rectified as we would love to book again!

  • "Very nice property nicely laid out and well furnished Danny was absolutely brilliant in responding to a couple of minor issues we had and everything was dealt with promptly and efficiently which did not affect our stay."

2 small criticism though we felt the property had not been hoovered properly as there was evidence of pet hairs left on some of the carpets and I think the property would benefit from a Hoover being on site rather than Just a dustpan and brush. Also unfortunately the tumble Dryer wasn’t working which was a nuisance due the fact we had a 2 year old with us and Danny did explain he was waiting for parts but maybe a replacement could of been put in especially as the weather is now changing. None of the above really affected our stay though and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the cottage is a good base for exploring the North Cornwall area. I would sincerely recommend this property to other people and would stay again should we back in Cornwall

  • "Great base for exploring the Cornish coastline."

Good for water sports too. very clean, modern accommodation. One minor thing would recommend doing something regarding step from utility room into kitchen as we all seemed to catch our feet on it

  • "House had all facilities to make our lives easy (we've added a cafetiere for the coffee lovers)."

We were lucky enough with the weather to eat outside every day - might have been a struggle to seat everyone inside to eat. Mettle-framed beds need some getting used to - just turning over makes alot of noise and we frequently woke each other up in the night. The main road on one side of the house can get quite busy/ noisy with the windows open. None of this spoilt our holiday and we would highly recommend this venue. The location - the sea-view, the sun-sets, the easy access to beautiful beaches and coastal walks and towns - was excellent. thank you

Serving these bedrooms is a bathroom with bath and shower over, perfect for a lazy soak for a quick rinse, while there is also a shower room on the ground floor.

The final piece of the interior is the cosy snug room, positioned on the first floor where you can getaway from the group and enjoy a quiet read, or open the patio doors to access the furnished balcony, offering a sunny spot for a gin and tonic.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafes to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre. Within a short drive are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
