• "This is our 4th visit to Cornwall using this property."

  I only have good things to say about Chewidden, it is beautifully kept and very comfortable. On arrival you will find scones jam and cream in the fridge which is a lovely touch. We had a brilliant stay and hope to return very soon.

• "This was one of the most comfortable cottages we’ve stayed in and a great location."

  Beautifully appointed, all the facilities were of a high quality and easy to use. Gorgeous hot shower in the wet room and the most comfortable bed ever. It’s not easy to find such a home from home feeling in a holiday rental. Will definitely stay here again

  The house’s location enables easy access to many of Cornwall’s ancient and quaint fishing villages, old clay and tin workings and such interesting places as the Eden Project and Tate Modern in St Ives. The house is a pleasure to holiday in, being comfortably furnished and carefully designed.

• "Very nice place."

  Had everything we needed. Great location. A little bit tight getting into the car park if you have a big car, but recognise there’s nothing that can be done about that and it’s not impossible if you’re careful. Just one possible improvement - my wife would have liked a full length mirror somewhere (maybe on the back of the upstairs cupboard door?).

• "Really comfy and cosy cottage."

  Beautiful and tastefully decorated and everything had been carefully thought about. Appreciated the boxes of cereal, milk and cream tea ..yum! We laughed every time we bumped our heads upstairs. Suspect it was our lack of space awareness on our part! Can’t wait to return back to Charlestown and would definitely use this accommodation again.

• "The pictures on the Web site make the property look bigger than it is."

  Could do with more windows that open to upstairs to get more ventilation. And a fan as it was to hot of a night time to sleep. Needs a net fitted to the window by the door. Bur it's a really nice cottage and the milk,butter and the other accessories was a nice jester

• "We had a wonderful holiday staying in Chewidden Cottage."

  The cream teas and milk in the fridge was a really nice touch, the facilities were fantastic, the whole place decorated to a very high standard and we found it spotless on arrival. The harbour and beaches with in 10 minutes walk, a great coffee shop just two minutes walk down the road too. Loads of nice places to visit close by. We will definitely be returning to this cottage sometime soon.

• "We stayed here at the end of April and really enjoyed the cottage and Charlestown."

  There is so much to do in the local area and so many beautiful places to experience/visit. The cottage instructions were very clear and the owner/s have thought of everything to make it home from home with high spec equipment and utentils. It was very nice to have a holiday cottage with things like soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc left to use. Also a welcome basket with bread, butter, milk, cereal and jams etc. There is no shop in Charlestown so this was appreciated. There is plenty of information in the cottage on things to visit locally and books/maps. The only area that was initially tricky was getting use to the electronic entry gate to the car park as quite neat to turn into Merchant's Quarter and park. We got use to it but might be worth mentioning in the information. The property does not have an outdoor area other than the car park but there is plenty of places locally. Overall a great holiday in Cornwall and holiday home which is ideal for two people.

• "Stylish accommodation in a historical location."

  Right on the doorstep of Charlestown’s bars, restaurants, quayside and beach. The cottage has excellent facilities and is decorated, tastefully. All the equipment and furnishings are of a high quality. On arrival, the cottage was spotless. Parking space was convenient and easy to access. We would definitely recommend it and intend to book again.

• "The overall accommodation was very good."

  Welcome pack was brilliant, milk jam, butter etc., Entrance to parking area was challenging for a larger car. Everything you could wish for with the facilities provided home from home. The upstairs ceilings were to say the least a challenge, not good for a tall person and no mention of the open backed staircase which we found difficult. Overall a really good holiday. instructions for the heating would be helpful. It got too hot on occasions and we couldn’t figure out to alter. All other information was excellent. Thank you. We would recommend to more able body persons

  Great location with close access to restaurants, bars and costal walks. Perfect for me as only 5ft tall but husband kept bumping his head upstairs on sloped walls! The only things I missed were a full length mirror and a pizza cutter.

• "Arrived to take a short break over the New Year and to our delight there was a bottle of champers already chilled in the fridge, plus other basic essentials to help you settle in."

  Very comfy bed and decent quality crockery etc. Generally fitted out to a high standard with secure parking and excellent access. Very warm and well insulated from the elements and sound. Decent tv with internet facilities allowing you to access iplayer Netflix etc and good mobile phone connections. Short walk down the main access to the town quay which is reasonably well lit at night. Very enjoyable stay and a big ‘thank you’ to the owner Beverley.

• "The description doesn’t really portray the how low the ceiling is upstairs."

  Very little area you can walk around upright. My wife is 5ft 4” and hit her head several times, and I am 6ft! A little more honesty in the advertising please. No recycling, just a rubbish bin. I appreciate it’s difficult, but there is room in the bin area to do something. We took our recycling home.

  Dear David, I’m really sorry that you struggled with the low ceiling. Chewidden is a conversion of a very old building. Regarding waste, I pay for all waste to be collected privately by CTC who have a zero landfill policy. They operate a service specifically for holiday lets where all waste is sorted and recycled or reused. Nothing goes to landfill. Recycling information is in the visitor information pack in the property. Once again, I am really sorry that you weren’t completely satisfied. It is always disappointing to hear. • "Chewiden Cottage was stylish and full of character - absolutely delightful."

  Everything was of the highest standard, and we arrived to find all the basics we needed to make tea and coffee and toast, including the most gorgeous Cornish butter and biscuits. A lovely surprise! The location was amazing too, just a short walk from Charlestown’s historic quayside and wonderful restaurants and coffee houses. Loved it - sure we’ll be back one day.

• "Really well located and equipped little cottage."

  We were able to walk into Charlestown (about 3 minutes) each evening to eat. Some good restaurants, with good menus at reasonable prices. The addition of a Nesspresso or similar coffee machine is the only suggestion I can make. Highly recommended.
