  • "We’ve just come back from our week by the sea and it was just what we needed!"

Lovely views from the apartment overlooking the marina, so even on the wetter days I was quite happy to sit on the balcony watching the world go by! I’m already missing my morning tea watching the boats! Really lovely, spacious apartment with everything you need! We are a married couple with an occasionally moody teenager and it was big enough to give us our own space! Can’t think of anything I’d recommend, other than perhaps a fan (not that it was hot while we visited), as the bedrooms are on ground level and I wouldn’t want to open the windows whilst sleeping - but that’s just a personal preference and wasn’t needed whilst there. To address other reviewers comments on the building work next door, there is some work ongoing, but I think the noisy bit is done as we really had no concerns with it at all, honestly wasn’t disruptive! Will be back!

Thank you Claire for your lovely feedback I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay Look forward to welcoming you back in the future Property Owner

  • "Nicely furnished property in a good location with a nice view off of the balcony."

Unfortunately when we arrived it hadn’t been satisfactorily cleaned, we had to hoover and mop the floor ourselves. We even found some broken glass that had been swept under the sofa. The drain in the shower was partially blocked. The double bed mattress was too soft.

Thank you for your comments regarding the furnishings and view. I sent an arrival email stating if there was anything you needed on arrival to contact me. If you had done so I could have asked the cleaner to attend. The drain has been unblocked. The bed has a premium mattress from Dreams and is medium firm so a personal choice. I disagree with 25% for facilities, everything needed is provided, down to a slow cooker and binoculars. Maybe you could let me know what is missing Property Owner

  • "This is an honest review of the above property "Sea-Esta" Most importantly at the foot of the web page sales particulars there is an advisory note, "There are ongoing building works on the property next door", which should have been worded, "There is an ongoing development of five Apartments and two Houses, with associated ground works, next door"."

It would be appropriate to place this type of advisory noted near the top of the page where people can easily see it. This was noisy inside the apartment, making sitting on the balcony uncomfortable, this started at 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, although we did complain to the owner, I didn't make any difference, we decided to come home a day early because of the disruption, compensation of £120.00 was offered, but should have been nearer 50% considering the cost of this supposedly premium Apartment. Apart from the intrusive and regular noise from the building works, the apartment requires more regular maintenance to ensure it’s status as a premier listing. Whilst the building work is not a permanent fixture, it’s clear that the noise and disruption will continue for some time and potential holiday makers should be made more aware of this at the outset. In the apartment, the door of the integrated washer dryer needed adjustment, the plinth in the en suite bathroom wasn’t properly fixed and the vacuum cleaner required taking apart and clearing out of hair and small cardboard discs before it could be used. The extractor fan, light bulbs and skirting boards were dusty and didn’t have the attention to detail that would be expected. The view from the apartment is delightful and it’s convenient for the town centre. It’s a shame that lack of attention to detail spoils the experience.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your stay at sea-esta. We are sorry you felt that the information we provided in relation to the neighbouring work was not clear. A note on the property page has been active since July 2022 advising of the ongoing project next door, asking guests to call in for further details prior to making a booking. If you had made us aware of the issues you faced during your stay at the time, we would have happily helped to resolve them in good time. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the views from the property and hope you enjoy future visits to Cornwall. Property Owner

  • "Before booking we asked if there was building work next to property and told not that you were aware of any."

As it turned out there full scale ground and building work covering a period of 8.00 am to 4.30pm. Diggers , dumpers, cement mixers and grinders were in constant use. Other bookings should be made aware of the on going work. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello There was a starred note entered on the website on 3 July 2022 mentioning there were building works going on next door. You actually booked on 28 November 2022, so should have been noticed. Not sure why Sykes would have told you any different. Anyone booking before 7 September 2022 would have received a letter with the update. The building works are not in sight of our property, maybe slightly when sitting on the balcony but there is a glass panel which hides most of the ongoing works. They have informed us they work Monday - Friday between 8.30am and 5pm. Regards Joan Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed staying here, would stay again, just a few gripes."

When we arrived I had to wipe out the grease from the oven and pans, did email Joan and was emailed back to stay as ovens get older that happens, very odd to me. The sofa and chair was quite low and uncomfortable, but the noise was unbearable from the flat above especially at 11pm at night, sounded like furniture being moved around and loud voices. Oh dear this sounds awful but it didn’t spoil our holiday as we were out most of the time, we wouldn’t hesitate coming back. A beautiful apartment with lovely views.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad you loved the apartment and its amazing views. We're sorry if there was any confusion over the email we sent, we have passed your comments regarding the oven and pans onto our housekeeper but the oven isn't brand new and it is difficult to keep an oven in a new condition. We've haven't received any previous comments from guests regarding the sofa and chairs. The photos on the website show an accurate representation of both the sofa and the chairs. We're sorry that the guests in the apartment above were noisy, it is tricky in an apartment but we have spoken with the owner of the apartment and made them aware. We're glad that these issues didn't spoil your holiday and that you had an enjoyable stay and would like to come back again. Property Owner

After 24 hours the cleaner came and admitted she had not been in the flat for a month. A relative had dealt with it. She showed us the basement store where the linen was kept and said it could have a damp atmosphere. We bought replacement linen and towels and were reimbursed. Our first two day s were spoilt. There was a distinct lack of cutlery & limited crockery necessitating frequent use of the dishwasher. Very poor ironing board & cheap iron & thin bath towels all in all not a 5 star property.

Hi Paul Thank you for the feedback. The apartment is situated on a quiet minor road and mainly used by residents so not sure why there would be traffic waking you in the middle of the night. The gas boiler only fires up when in use 'on demand' type. The bed is from Dreams and quite expensive and obviously a personal preference, sorry it wasn't suitable for your bad back. There is a full set of cutlery and crockery for 6 persons and many varied dishes and cooking casseroles etc. The ironing board is brand new and I have provided a steam iron now. The bath towels are also new but I will look at these. The iron Property Owner

It was clean and had a well-furnished and equipped lounge/kitchen. The balcony also had comfortable seating and a great view. A coat rack in the hallway would have saved us from having to put dripping coats over dining room chairs to dry. For us the bed was too soft. Joan was welcoming and friendly; her communication was very good. The apartment is well-located. We would definitely consider a return visit.

  • "Lovely apartment, well finished."

Just a few smallish points that would have improved how we used the property: - more kitchen knives - there was nothing to cut meat, bread or chop vegetables. - we struggled with the oven. The instructions were hard to make sense of. - a teapot - there were plenty of ways to prepare coffee! - as mentioned in a previous review online, somewhere to hang coats would be very useful, as well as somewhere to put outdoor boots.

Thank you for your feedback, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Sea-esta. In follow up to your comments we can confirm that in terms of kitchen knives there is a bread knife, a vegetable knife and a sharp kitchen scissors available for use. The manufacturers booklet for the oven can also be found at the property. A slow cooker is now available Worth mentioning there are two large wardrobes a few steps from the entrance where coats and shoes can be stored, and finally, we are happy to replace the missing teapot - We hope to see you again. It also has amazing views over Falmouth marina, & is within walking distance of Falmouth town. We thought perhaps a hat & coat stand in the hallway, would be good as we had no where to hang winter coats. The apartment has all cooking utensils you will need, and loads of gorgeous restaurants near by, if you dont want to cook. It has its own parking space, so no need to pay to park in town. The apartment was spotless on arrival, and is deap cleaned when guests leave, that is a great advantage with Covid rules at the moment. All in all a very beautiful place to stay.

Walking distance to town, ferry jetty, beach and Pendennis Castle. Car parking on site. Lovely, clean, light, spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen. Good shower & heating. Good seating on balcony with lovely view. Quiet neighbours. If I had to be picky sitting at dining table not so comfortable as chairs too low for table. (I'm 5' 5" not particularly short). Getting out of the garage space requires a tight turn. But these points are minor, we would still recommend Sea- Esta and hope to return one day.

  • "The description is inaccurate."

This is a beauti beautiful apartment but the parking advertised as on site is height restricted. If you have an SUV you cannot open the boot without hitting the roof, and if you want to put a roofbox on the SUV forget it. It will not fit under the roof and you cannot remove it to park as there is nowhere to store it. Do not be fobbed off by Sykes telling you there is on street parking. There may be if you want to walk a long way, but outside the apartment the cars are parked nose to tail. The second floor apartment owner is extremely noisy. Not only does she have her TV on full blast but also thinks its okay to shout over it.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you found sea~esta to be a beautiful apartment. The listing on the website is accurate and the high for the car port is standard height. Side street parking is always available around the property, along the left hand side of the road. We are sorry to hear about the noisy second floor neighbour. That apartments is also a holiday let and unfortunately not all guests have care for the neighbouring units. We hope you will visit Falmouth again in the future. Property Owner
