  • "Ideal apartment for two."

particularly liked the undercover parking and the bathroom. Did wonder if being next to a busy pub would be a problem but it wasn't, even with football matches being shown live on various evenings. Small suggestion, the electricity supply line to the property was slapping on the roof during the 40 mile an hour winds on Monday, it might be worth asking the local electricity board if they can do anything about shortening the line? All in all very pleased with the accommodation.

Hi Alan. We are glad you enjoyed the property and your holiday in general. The weather has been quite bad so far this year, especially the wind. We will look to call Western Power to have a look at the line. It was likely just that the wind was so bad and in a certain direction, but will see what they say or can do. Thanks again. Hope you return at some point. Thanks also for leaving the property immaculately clean Regards Ryan & Emma Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay at the Sandbox, for time of year the price was very good, facilities were very good the bed could do with up grading as small point."

Could do with a little more info on parking we were not aware it was shared parking, another small point.

Hi Wendy. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The bed is as big as we could put in there to be honest. If it’s any bigger it would swamp the room. The parking isn’t shared. There is a dedicated space for people staying at the Sandbox thats only for them to use. There is a sign on the wall and a big dividing line between the 2 spaces as to which space is for The Sandbox parking. We haven’t had anyone else having an issue so not sure how we can make that any clearer? We are happy you enjoyed your stay, which is the main thing. Come back at anytime. Regards Ryan and Emma. • "Absolutely loved our stay at the Sandbox."

Such a nice comfortable place to stay. The only downside was the parking space, the space itself is fine but there is a high curb on the left side which makes driving out of the space awkward so it is best to drive into it rather than reverse into it. However, this aside we would definitely love to come back again.

Hi Lydia. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in The Sandbox. Regarding the hump next to the parking bay, it was installed to stop anyone reversing or driving directly into the steel pillar that its next to as that’s a main structural part of the building. Come back and visit again at anytime ! Regards Ryan & Emma Property Owner

Ideal location , just a minute to the beautiful beach and right next to the pub that overlooks the beach, great for a couple of drinks watching the sunset after a day on the beach.short car ride to ST Erth park and ride to get the scenic train to St Ives. Would recommend and will definitely book again

Hi Micheal Thankyou for such wonderful feedback. It’s really appreciated and makes us feel so happy that people have enjoyed their time in The Sandbox and in our area in general. • "A lovely property, well equiped, comfortable, very clean, has parking space with EV charger, ideally situated for the beach and pub."

If I have to find a negative it would only be that the bed could be slightly bigger (personal preference) but honestly this is a really lovely place to stay and I can't recommend it enough.

The bedroom is a bit of a tight squeeze - between the bed and the small wardrobe. Very clean and plenty of light. Path to the beach next to the Bluff Pub. Enjoyed our stay.

Hi Susan Thank you for the nice feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We may look to replace the bed frame at some point, so that it doesnt have a footboard. This would increase the gap between the wardrobe & the bed. Hope to see you again in the future. Regards Ryan & Emma Property Owner

  • "Beautiful location and the Sandbox had everything we needed, a very short walk to a lovely beach."

We were a bit skeptical about being next to a pub as it looked a little rough but it was very family friendly and the food was good. Only thing the Sandbox could've done with is a hoover as we cleaned as best we could but wasn't easy with the extended dustpan and brush provided. Would 100% come back here again!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you liked the property so much that you want to return. Its great to see that you rated The Sandbox so high in regards to cleanliness, facilities, accuracy of listing and comfort. We appreciate your comment with regards to having a hoover accessible in the property and will leave this with the owner for their consideration. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future. With Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner

  • "Very well equipped, clean and tidy throughout."

Exceptional soft and fluffy towels! As OAPs we had a little difficulty managing the steps, they have quite high risers, but we managed! The t.v.s are a little ideosynchratic. Took a bit of juggling to be able to watch different channels in living room and bedroom! The main problem we had was operating the hob. Directions in the folder are too brief, and misleading. Not obvious which is the on/off button for example. It wasn't until I found the manufacturer's handbook that I was able to operate it. Otherwise we had a wonderful relaxing holiday. Thank you. We'll be back if we don't get any worse at managing stairs!

Thank you for your feedback. We are saddened to hear that you had a few issues during your stay. Thank you for your constructive comments, these have been taken on board. • "The location of this property is spot on for the beach."

The interior was fresh, modern depicting ‘beach life’. Being on the first floor and having French doors it was lovely to open the doors then to sit and look at the view with a glass of something cool. The real bonus for us was having a parking space underneath the property with an EV charger (our car is electric). Would recommend changing the larder fridge to one with a freezer compartment. Looking forward upon our next visit to find a storage facility for wetsuit/body boards and an outside tap to rinse. Fingers crossed that the TV aerial will have been installed too.

Hi Suzanne Thanks for the nice feedback received. The building has only just been finished & the next project is an external small enclosed seating/storage area at the bottom of the steps to the entrance. We have already prepped the plumbing for an external shower to be installed in the small seating area created. This will be good for rinsing off yourselves & wetsuits etc after a day at the beach. Hopefully it will be big enough to store Bodyboards etc. We didn't have time to complete this last bit due to being the start of the summer season, but its in motion & will hopefully be finished and ready for use by the start of next summer. The TV aerial was already to be installed before the seagulls decided our roof was going to be their nursery for the next 2 months!! Once they have nested its illegal to move them, so that was that! We will prevent them from nesting now & going forward. They have now just finally left the roof & the aerial is being installed in the next couple of weeks. As mentioned the design of the kitchen was supposed to have the small freezer compartment, but was a mistake by the kitchen company who supplied it. By the time we realised, everything had been installed. We didn't think this would be too much of an issue though as people are mainly either eating out or not staying long enough to keep things frozen. But we have taken this on board. All feedback received ids appreciated. We are happy you enjoyed your stay & look forward to seeing you both again. You hit the weather perfectly we must say !! Regards Ryan & Emma Property Owner

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
