  • "Our stay at Sunbury Barn was amazing."

It was cosy, warm and in the perfect location for visiting nearby towns and beaches. The barn was clean, and welcoming with a cream tea on arrival. The towels were fresh and soft and the hot tub was a perfect addition. We were looked after during the storm that hit and warned that there maybe a power cut. This was an added touch of kindness and allowed us to ensure we were prepared. Local beaches and pubs were lovely too. We would love to visit again next year. The only tiny, small detail that was slightly disappointing was there were no complimentary toiletries as stated in the description. There was an empty box of dishwasher tablets and no hand soap and only one toilet roll. As we arrived really late at night there was chance to rectify this before we went to bed, so first stop was the coop the next morning. Again this wasn't a problem, just a small suggestion.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the barn and that you were able to visit the nearby towns and beaches. We have spoken with our housekeepers who assured us that they had left their usual welcome pack, which includes washing powder, dishwasher tablets and soap. We are sorry that there wasn't any hand soap provided, this is something that we do like to provide but unfortunately we were not able to obtain any from the local supplier that we like to use. We are sorry for any disappointment that this may have caused. We would love to welcome you back next year and look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

Everything we needed was also provided. The barn was absolutely beautiful, spotless and the hot tub was perfect. The information pack was really helpful and everything was labelled or set out for ease of reference. Only issue we had was the driving in and out, we bottomed out a couple of times on the farm track where our car is low.

The garden is very large and great for children and dogs. The owners are onsite and were very helpful and friendly. We used the south access which is a steep and windy driveway. Was a challenge initially but was fine when we got used to it and we were in a large car. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the St Agnes area and if we visit the area again, we would definitely stay at Sunbury Barn.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Sunbury barn."

The peace and tranquillity of the location were superb and the cottage has excellent facilities. We were lucky enough to book for the first week in September when the weather was superb so it was good to chill out in the hot tub with a glass of wine. The Cornish beaches were not crowded so we explored them every day except one when we went to the Minack Theatre for a performance of Evita - a magical experience. The week ended too soon!

  • "We had the most amazing stay at Sunbury Farm, we enjoyed the hot tub, and loved looking at the horse and sheep!"

The house was beautiful and very clean. The only thing we would have liked to have known in advance is that the garden wasn’t secure or gated to let our dogs roam freely, we kept them on long leads to ensure they didn’t wander off for the times we were not all in the garden. But we would highly recommend, the dogs that live there Maisey and Daisy were lovely and so friendly!

'Thanks for that feedback and we are so glad you had a good stay. Because we are secluded with no near neighbours, the garden is very open with no fences or enclosures. Your feedback is helpful and we will make this clear on the property description for future guests. We look forward to seeing you again!' Property Owner

  • "Lovely holiday at Sunbury Barn."

The barn itself is very clean, modern and stylish with good facilities, in a superb quiet location yet still close to beaches and villages. Nice touch from owners to provide a welcome pack of clotted cream, scones, milk and local apple juice. The living accommodation, being reverse upstairs really works well to take in all the splendid views, fantastic bathroom and hot tub as well as a useful laundry room. The access was a real problem for me, as I have an estate car low to the ground. Not only is the southern access very steep but also very twisty at the start, I felt like Colin McRae(rally driver) getting up it and the north entrance is strictly for tractors, it's just a track with a lot of overgrowth which is not good for your paintwork. I was lucky that the weather was good as I would not have been able to drive up it in the wet. This did not detract from what was a great holiday, I'm just being honest and stating facts, it is not meant as a criticism. The wifi is also hit and miss, maybe because of the location, which can result in no TV signal as well. I've left the best until last and have to mention the two beautiful dogs Maisy and Daisy (mom and daughter), who are the real stars here, so friendly, loving and great fun.

Thanks David for your lovely compliments. The access does take some getting used to, and for some is part of our attraction as we are so secluded. We don't trim the hedges on the top track in June to keep the wild flowers blooming for as long as possible, and the unmade track can certainly be daunting if one is not used to that or you have a very low car. The south access is streep but we are always able to drive up it, even in the wet, and we have only had snow twice in 20 years which has stopped us. We don't have wired wifi again due to our location, and if there is a lot of local traffic the 4 G router can be slow. This should not affect the TV signal, but may affect streamed programmes. I'm glad that despite these issues you had such a great stay and we really value such honest and open feedback. Property Owner

  • "This is the perfect family/couples retreat."

Situated a little out of town yet easily walkable or a short drive to local pub, shop, beach etc. The residence is situated in the middle of Cornwall so it’s pretty much an hour to everywhere. We spent most of our time exploring the local area & all its gorgeous spring time natural beauty. Although some Cornish roads can be busy and, not particularly safe to walk, I downloaded an app (windymaps) which maps all of the public footpaths making local exploring really easy. The house is finished to a really high standard & comes with everything you’ll need for a home from home stay. We were travelling with our baby & a high chair, cot & stair gate were readily available. Being slightly away from the coast & benefitting from a patio & huge lawn (that gets the sun all day&eve) it is the perfect sun trap. Ideal for the book worm, family games or outdoor cooking. On that note local produce & farm shops are really easy to find from this location. We would highly recommend Sunbury Barn to anyone. The stunning & relaxing views from the hot tub, plus the calm & safe family environment made it a wonderful break for us.

Large terrace and well maintained garden to roam about in together with woodland walks to the south. Would recommend to our friends and family. Few minor attention to detail issues with regards to the cleanliness and maintenance of the property for the owners to be made aware of. Large amounts of Cobwebs in the rafters, dead flies are caught up in some of them. They are hugely noticeable when all the lights are on or the sun is shining in. Quite a bit of dirt and dust around the top of the walls where the bottoms of the beams sit in the lounge and kitchen area. When emptying the bin on departure, the kitchen bin is quite dirty on the inside and could do with disinfecting/cleaning/replacing. The lights in the extractor fan above the oven and hob don’t work and need replacing.

  • "The perfect family cottage."

Great location, secluded enough but only a 5 minute drive into Perranporth where there are shops, bars, restaurants and a fantastic beach. Also the perfect cottage for a dog, he was able to roam freely in the large garden and play with the owners 2 dogs which he loved. There are lots of walks right from the cottage door also. Would highly recommend Sunbury Barn.

The dogs (Daisy and Maisy) are greta fun as well and a welcome edition to the holiday. Highly recommended and as for a family of four i am sure we will visit again when we next come to Cornwall.
