“We found the accommodation to be well appointed, generally clean and comfortable.”

On arrival we found an unexpected welcome pack of wine, biscuits and a Cornish cream tea, which was a very nice touch. There were also fresh flowers and a live pot plant. The living area was of a good size and could have coped with a family of six (there were 2 compact bedrooms and what looked to be a put u up sofa in an alcove). Although in the grounds, and close to the main house, there was no feeling of intrusiveness. One car parking space was provided next to the cottage, but there was more on-grass parking within 50 yds. The property is on the edge of the community, about ¾ mile from the village centre with its scattering of shops and eating places, a small museum and library. A small sandy surf beach and the coastal path provide the outdoors entertainment, and we enjoyed visiting the nearby Blue Hills tin mine. Newquay, Truro and Falmouth and their associated attractions are within an hours drive Early October provided a quiet and relaxing break, but I would expect more hordes of emmetts (look it up!) in the height of the season.

This property is part of the Cornish & Devonshire Cottage Holidays collection.
Over 500 carefully selected and perfectly located Cornwall and Devon properties, helping you create your perfect holiday.

The property

This modern bungalow, finished to a high standard, stands within the owner’s grounds who live adjacent and is a 10 minute walk from the centre of the Cornish village of St Agnes.

This lovely property has a spacious and airy design with skylights that flood the open-plan living space with natural light as well as the picture window at the front which offers sea views.

The sitting area is centrally positioned, facing a stylish dining space and a woodburner for added cosiness in the cool weather.

A sofa bed tucked away in the corner of the room adds versatility to this attractive property where you will also find two beautifully presented bedrooms, one king-size and one with bunk beds.

There is also a smart, white bathroom and a useful utility room.

Outside you have your very own private courtyard garden.

A 10 minute walk takes you to two beaches, the sandy Trevaunance Cove is lifeguarded in the summer and dogs are welcome all-year-round.

St Agnes has everything you need, its thriving centre includes a bakery, coffee shops, butchers, greengrocers and newsagents and there are also several pubs and popular restaurants.

This area is a spectacular walking region with the Heritage North Coast Path and cliff walks for those wishing to explore on foot.

For a change of scenery, the beaches of Perranporth and Porthtowan are close by and for a day trip to enjoy some retail therapy the city of Truro is under 10 miles.

Pentire is perfect for a family seaside holiday or for couples seeking a year-round base to explore the region.

St Agnes is a thriving picturesque village on the Cornish coast, with four beaches on the doorstep and surrounded by wonderful countryside. Coasteering, kayaking and horse riding are all available locally, and St Agnes has a regular programme of events and gigs for all the family to enjoy. The local shops offer an interesting selection of produce, from tasty treats to one-off pieces of art as a unique souvenir of your Cornish holiday, and there is a superb range of dining choices with two Great Cornish Food Awards in 2015. St Agnes also has a rich mining heritage which can be explored with a visit to the St Agnes Museum. Head out of St Agnes and you will find plenty of Cornwall’s attractions within easy reach, from the beaches at Newquay to the Tate at St Ives or the cathedral at Truro and of course, the world-famous Eden Project. St Agnes is also in the heart of Poldark Country, the landscapes made famous by the novels and TV series’, the most recent of which was broadcast in Spring 2018. So explore this beautiful region or stay close to home in a friendly bustling village; either way you are assured of a memorable Cornish vacation.
