  • "The lodge surroundings are beautiful, very much away from it all and well spaced out amongst the other lodges."

Number 15 had complete privacy right on the edge of the grounds, the whole complex seemed very well thought out with this in mind. The Hot tub did not work for the first 2 days of our stay which was disappointing and we had to chase up getting this sorted despite daily maintenance visits as detailed on the booking. As mentioned in previous reviews the lodge smelt significantly of damp due to outdoor cushions being stored in the main bedroom wardrobe, madness that this is still the case so can only assume that sykes have not brought this to the attention of the owners, even with the cushions removed due to the great weather we had you could still smell if after 5 days even though we left windows open at all times when we were in to try and get rid of the smell, we didn't raise this while we were there as seemed a pointless exercise based on previous reviews. Location was very much as described, not within walking distance of any other amenities, but everything you would want within a 15 min drive including Looe and Polperro. Would we stay again, more than likely but sadly not sure we would stay at number 15 unless the above were to be addressed.

The hot tub was enjoyed! We were sorry not to be able to get a table for dinner at the restaurant but should have booked earlier.

The mattress on the main double bed in our lodge Was old and worn out and had sunk in the middle and wasn’t comfy, the tv in the bedroom didn’t work nor have a remote and the hot tub on arrival was 43 degrees, also with no outside lighting it was practically unusable, other than this it was lovely

  • "Firstly, despite a few negatives to follow, we had a wonderful weekend break in a beautiful tranquil location, the on site reception/restaurant is very accommodating and friendly."

The lodge is wonderful despite it is starting show signs that it does need some TLC, and by addressing some minor issues would enhance the holiday/break. Having read previous reviews prior to arriving, it was some what disappointing to inherit the same problem of finding the outdoors cushions completely soaked, so much that you could not bring them in initially to dry. However, following a spell of good weather we eventually got them in against the radiators and manged to utilise the outdoor seating on Sunday afternoon, simply fantastic sat on the balcony with refreshments! On departing the lodge we placed them inside for the benefit of other guests! Surely as pointed out before a storage box would help with simple guidance to store cushions when not in use, or adopt the same policy that we used, stored behind a sofa. The cooker glass retainer is broken in 3 pieces, but still usable if careful. May also be worth advertising that only 2 robes are supplied, or perhaps we should have requested 4 to accommodate 4 adults. In fairness we did not use the TV's throughout the break, however, I could not find a controller in the master bedroom. Apologies, that I have highlighted these defects, and yes we could have reported/requested during our stay, but overall we still had an amazing relaxing break that we all needed, and are very much considering a booking to visit this site again, as it is an absolutely beautiful location away from the beaten track, but also within distant of small ports and villages.

  • "Hi there We had a fantastic time at Stonerush and will be returning very soon."

We were very apprehensive about dining in the Old Mill but were reassured by Jackie that measures were in place regarding social distancing. Everyone deserves credit for managing high demand for tables while maintaining social distancing etc, was an pleasure to dine there. The only issue we had was the mould in both the en-suite and bedroom. The smell inside the wardrobe was so strong we had to put our clothes in the second bedroom. I removed the mould that was reachable but even with every door left open throughout the week we could not get rid of the smell. We informed the staff who apologised and said they would speak with the cleaning team. We just wanted you to know about this because if this isn’t dealt with I’m sure you’ll have to deal with a complaint from a customer in the near future. That apart we had a fantastic time week there!! Many thanks Andrew

  • "Unfortunately the day before we arrived the weather was very wet, we entered the cabin and liked what we saw inside, just like the video, outside was a different story the furniture on the decking was completely unusable due to the previous day rain, may I suggest a storage box for the seat cushions so everyone may have the opportunity to enjoy the facilities."

Back inside we had to call maintenance to fix the boiler, (something to do with pressure) and both bathroom plugs didn’t fit, hence water was going straight down the plug hole. The maintenance man came straight away fixed the boiler couldn’t fix the plugs so took them away and when we returned later in the day had completely replaced the plug. ( Top marks to him) But maybe I’m being finicky on the whole we did enjoy our selves, the hot tub was great and we really did enjoy our stay.

This was quickly sorted on site and no issues. The lodge and sight was lovely and we had a meal in the on site restaurant which was lovely, I would recommend this to family and friends.

  • "The lodge was excellent and very cosy and comfortable, the welcome pack was great, bed very comfortable and nice bonus having the bathrobes and toiletries."

Very impressed that the hot tub was serviced and checked every day. On the whole in a lovely country side location, clean, tidy and very private, ideal for a relaxing holiday. The staff at Old Mill Restaurant were very friendly and helpful, the food was first class and the takeaway was a good option. The only downside was no WiFi or phone signal in our lodge as we could not be contacted or use the internet in which this day and age we would have expected. All in all an ideal location as a base to travel to various parts of Cornwall, would definitely visit again.

  • "This is our fourth holiday at Stonerush and we love it, however we were dissapointed that a few things were missing this year."

It was a shame the bathrobe and slippers for the hot tub were not provided this year, and the small box of kitchen bits (washing up liquid, extra bin bags) was not available. The small touches did make a difference this year, as we are loyal customers and return each year because of the usual high standards.

  • "There was supposed to be Wi-fi (which was important to us as we were holidaying with another family who were staying at another site, as there is no phone signal we booked a place with Wi-fi so we could WhatsApp to arrange plans)."

When we arrived on the Friday we realised the Wi-fi didn’t work. I rang Flint management out of hours number and they said Wi-fi wasn’t provided and to contact Sykes. I contacted Sykes (reference number COR-101081-CF) who said Wi-fi is provided and they would contact someone to sort. I was told on the Saturday 6th April that someone would ring me but no one did. I tried again later on Saturday (I had to go off site as no phone signal on site), and was told system was down and to ring another number). I rang this number but got no answer and no one rang me as they were supposed to. In the end it was ruining our holiday having to keep phoning so we left it and decided to address it after holiday. We would appreciate a phone call or email please to discuss what went wrong, if there should have been Wi-fi and compensation.
