  • "We stayed in 1 lake view last year and found the lodge, clean, and in good condition…."

. expecting the same standard in number 3 this year, also taking a family member with us we had shared how beautiful the previous lodge was. Very disappointed, the bath was chipped showing a small amount of rust, the bathroom mirror rusted all around the edge and a corner missing (cracked/broken) off. Dirty marks on the walls which we ended up cleaning off as become fed up of looking at them, dusty shelf’s in the bathroom. Cobwebs in most corners along with a spider in the main bedroom as we first arrived. Kitchen units didn’t look clean on arrival with hand-marks visible. Generally this lodge is very “used” the sofas covered in marks and very uncomfortable ending with us sitting at the table most evenings. This lodge is definitely not a luxury lodge to us !!! I don’t think we shall be returning after this experience of a very below standard. Shame really as still a great location.

  • "When we arravied our cabin wasn't cleaned."

And it took 2h to get someone to come and clean it. Our holiday started by sitting in car for 2h because it was discusting to be in the cabin. I booked the cabin a month prior our arrival and cleaning ladies sad that we were not in the books. That left us thinking that you don't care and all you need is money. Because 700 £ for 2 nights is a lot of money. Not even talking about comunication between me and office to sort that out. Then it took 45min to clean our cabin, that wee needed to sit in our car. We were there only for two nights, so we last one night. Company gave me refund of 100£ from 700£ that I paid. And tought that it's good enought even that I sad I'm not happy about that. So no, I would no recomend you place to anyone. So sad because the place is quait beautiful but service is apoling.

  • "Thank you. We had a really excellent holiday."

The location was great and the lodge was very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, and found it easy to get to places for days out. The beds were very comfortable. The TV was a very good size and, as we took an XBox to connect, we could watch streaming channels. The internet was fast and reliable though it was an unsecured network. The pictures on the website weren't 100% accurate as I think the outside photo was of a different lodge (or else some of the outside furniture has been removed). The picture online showed a balcony with garden furniture, a table with 4 seats and a parasol. We actually had two wooden chairs and a small table (which we used a lot). There was also some wicker furniture (a double chair and a single chair, both of which seemed quite unstable so we didn't use them) and a small coffee table. It would have been great if we'd been able to dine together outside as the online pictures suggested we could. The grounds of Stonerush Lakes are also very nice. My son and I enjoyed walking around the lakes, up the bridleway and exploring the local countryside. Thank you very much indeed for a very nice holiday. We already miss it.

  • "Fantastic location and very quiet, hardly heard anyone else in neighbouring lodges."

In the middle of nowhere yet still central to so many attractions. We were really lucky with the weather so we were disappointed there was no parasol as pictured and the outside table was only big enough for 2 to eat outside and not 4 - again as pictured.

Very comfy and cosy but could do with a bit of redecorating ! I also found a dog toy covered in hair under a table in the lounge which wasn’t great. Love the site and have stayed in a better lodge on this site unfortunately this one just come short of the mark for me but will definitely return to the site again.

  • "Location is lovely and peaceful, lodge was clean, well equipped and bed comfy."

On arrival we had a problem with the TVs not having any reception so no TV, and although site maintenance and facilities team tried to help they we not able to resolve this problem and advised that they would not be able to get anyone out until Monday (the day we were leaving). Lady from housekeeping did manage to find that the iplayer worked, so BBC all weekend! This was our second visit to Stonerush, although in a different lodge this time, but during both visits have encountered problems that weren't rectified during our stay. We are back in 2020 so hopefully third time lucky that everything will be 100%, in not I think this will be our last visit.

There was a strong WiFi signal but reception said the owners had not signed up to fibreoptic connection so we were unable to use it. No mobile signal at all. Cleanliness: disappointed. Found bowls with mould in top cupboard which we cleaned up. Coffee granules spilt in cupboards. Cracked ovenware, seemed to have been glued together. Dirty baking sheets Some basic cutlery like kitchen scissors missing. Broken clock on top of master bedroom wardrobe. Odd positioning of a large mirror against wall in what would commonly be used as a children’s bedroom. Shower door leaked every time onto wooden floor. Dog hair behind sofa (removable)

. which was fine as we called reception and they arranged for another one to be delivered.. whilst we were waiting for that I thought I would give our baby a bath, however there was no hot water.. the boiler had broken we later found out so no heating either, after the plumber came out he said we had to move lodges as couldn’t stay in a lodge with no heating with a 7 month old! Reception were really good and moved us to a different lodge, but by the time we got there and moved all our stuff it was 9:15 so we felt like we lost a whole evening of our weekend away which was disappointing.. we understand these things happen but it was a lot of money to us and we feel some compensation would be appreciated.. The cabin was extremely well laid out and all our needs were catered for. To start each day with a cup of tea on the balcony just listening to the birds - perfect - only to be followed by sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine listening to the birds going to sleep. A day spent visiting the surrounding area ( all attractions close by) to return to base and relax in the hot tub - heaven. The on site restaurant providing take away of excellent quality, and lovely area to book a meal and enjoy a lake side view. The holiday was lovely and the accommodation was perfect, one to remember.

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
