"The lodge was lovely and exceeded expectations."
The hot tub was lovely as was all the outside spaces and furniture. Super comfy beds and a real home from home. It was only slightly let down by the cleaning. For example, smears on the windows, a huge cobweb over the skylight in the Kitchen (most likely still there) and lots of dust on the skirting boards and covering the carpet behind doors. The cooker splashback had obviously just been wiped over by a damp cloth and not buffed. In the big scheme of things this was minor as the main bits had been done to an ok standard. It was just a shame that given the high standard of everything else that same attention to detail was not reflected in the cleaning. I did use the vaccum cleaner at the end of our stay and it is in poor condition and barely works. Hoping this is not what the cleaners are using. We loved the park. It was so tranquil and well kept. The staff at the Old Mill amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We ate there one evening and food was fine and service exemplary. We would definitely stay again, but perhaps bring some cleaning materials just in case!
We are glad you had a lovely stay in our lodge and that it exceeded your expectations. We want to maintain these high standards and will be highlighting the minor issues you mention in regards to cleaning to the Housekeeping Manager. We look forward to your return visit. Property Owner

"Had a fantastic stay, perfect setting and really peaceful."
Everything we needed was in the lodge , and it was really spacious too.
Had a lovely meal and took the dogs with us who were given a treat and a cushion to lie on . My husbands only criticism is that he would have loved a pint on draught!
Will definitely recommend and would love to go back at some point .
Thank you for your recommendation and are glad you enjoyed your stay, we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

"Property was great in and out, apart from the sinks in the house filled up pretty quickly suspected blockage in them."
As we arrived at the property for 4 after a long 6 hours drive I was looking forward to taking a shower and cooking some food. But as we arrived it hadn’t been cleaned dirty towels and robes and dirty bedding and toilet seats got photos of evidence. Other than having to wait another couple hours before we could use any of the facilities the rest of the property and the stay was perfect.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, the drainage has been sorted in both bathrooms and a new extractor fan fitted. With regard to cleanliness I will be undertaking more spot checks to ensure that the high standards are reached, it was unfortunate that the cleaner who was due to clean your lodge that day was ill, but for some unknown reason it was not allocated to another cleaner to pick up. Apologies for this but be assured this is all under review and a new more stringent checking system is being put in place to ensure this does not happen. We are glad you enjoyed your overall stay. Many thanks Property Owner

"The lodges and surrounding areas are absolutely lovely, however we was let down by the hot tub as the cover was broken so couldn’t fully open the hot tub or fully cover the hot tub when not in use, so debris from the trees were falling into it, called reception but nothing was done."
So that was a major let down for us.
Thank you for your feedback. A new hot tub lid had been ordered and sadly there had been a long delay. We are pleased to say it has now finally arrived. Property Owner

"The lodge itself was absolutely lovely, warm and very homely for the weekend however I have now visited 5 lodges at stonerush lakes and this unfortunately wasn’t quite up to standard if the others."
There is very few glasses in the properly (no pint glasses) at all. There is no lighting outside on the decking which resulted into myself slipping over and grazing all down my leg and as also mentioned before in many comments, the hot tub lid is broken which is meaning the heat doesn’t stay at its maximum in the tub and it is also very very heavy to get off. If these little things were sorted it would make it a 10/10 stay.
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to confirm the new hot tub lid has finally arrived. We’ve also fitted some solar lights which illuminate both the steps and path and hot tub areas. We’ve added some additional outside furniture making the deck a very comfortable place to sit and listen to the stream below. And for those who wish to partake, pint glasses are now available along with various other glassware.
We hope you enjoy your stay”

"Felt so welcoming when we arrived, it was cold and wet outside, but we were welcomed with a toasty lodge."
We booked this lodge to get away and take some time out, we were really able to do this. We hardly saw anyone and that was so nice, it probably helped due to the time of year we visited (december).
We couldn't get enough of the hot-tub we used it everyday- sometimes more than once in the day. Having the hot-tub checked daily was great, we never actually saw the person do it which was nice, it meant we were not disturbed.
On the night of arrival we had planned to cook pizzas, at about 20:30 I turned the oven on to find it wasn't working. We tried everything before ringing reception just incase we had made the mistake. However, we were not mistaken, the oven was broken. My partner rang the reception who then left a voicemail to the electrian. The following morning we had someone visit the lodge, check the oven to realise it was broken, they went away and got us a new oven. This was fitted within 30mins. Yes it was a slighlt inconvience but it was soon fixed for us which we are grateful for.
Regarding cleanliness, for someone who has worked in housekeeping and still works regarding cleaning, it's just habit to check things ... The en-suite shower had hair in the plug hole, it looked like to me it hadn't been taken apart and cleaned. There was a fair amount of dust sitting on skirting boards. The fridge had flaky white bits all in it when we arrvied, thinking it may have been dried milk. However, cleanliness as a whole, we couldn't fault it, just from looking into each room they looked spotless.
So after all that we would 100% be back again!! :)

"This was our second year stopping here but unfortunately it was a different lodge."
Now the place on the whole is pretty decent, this time though it was ruined by a fair few issues. Some were major and some were pretty minor but worth noting.
Now the major issue was the bed in the main bedroom and having looked through some of the previous comments I can see it’s been an ongoing problem! So initially the bed mattress was so firm it was like you was sleeping on the hardwood floor, but fair play to the owners they did swap out and provide a new mattress which was a lot better. The only other issue with the bed was that it was so creaky, so much that when you moved it would wake you up! We did report this but it didn’t seem to get resolved. If you looked under the frame you could see it on was broken! I must admit that the whole holiday was ruined mainly due to the poor bed as both me and my wife had either limited sleep or woke up with neck or back pain.
Now on to the minor little problems.
- [ ] Fan in bathroom noisy
- [ ] Hot tub could do with been upgraded and didn’t keep hot. Also hard to store cover as either blocked door or had to move it out the way.
- [ ] Blinds in and around lodge broken mainly by door where some were missing
- [ ] Wire fence by hot tub broken
- [ ] No outdoor lights, which made getting in/out the hot tub a little hard when dark.
- [ ] Spare room beds uncomfortable and hard (similar to main bed)
- [ ] Needs better table floor/table laps in living area, one in there too bright.
- [ ] Doesn’t have oven cloth (not sure due to Covid)
- [ ] WiFi kept going off during night
- [ ] Fridge didn’t seem to get cold.
- [ ] Ironing board has seen better days
- [ ] Taps drip and sinks slow to empty
- [ ] Gutters dripping which meant you got soaked by over flowing gutters in the rain.
Overall the place was pretty decent and location was superb but everything was ruined by the bed! When you’re paying close to £1k for a week away you expect a lot more! It’s such as shame as we loved the place but doubt we will be going back due to the poor beds.
We have just become the new owners of 3 Streamside and as such are addressing issues that have been raised in previous reviews.
There is now a new king-size mattress in the main bedroom with a new bed frame ordered, due delivery in November.
A new hot tub lid is also ordered and although the current one is slightly damaged the hot tub is unaffected and is in full working condition.
A new deck gate has been installed and the safety wire repaired making the deck fully enclosed.
We haven't been able to visit the lodge ourselves yet due to it being very popular and fully booked but will be in November when we will review external lighting, outside furniture and any other accessories which would add to the comfort of guests

"Great scheduled location, however was difficult to find our complex in the dark on our first night."
Could do with a map at the entrance of the complex or provide a free phone area as mobile reception was non-existence for our group. The lodge was amazing, clean and cosy and everything you could need except washing powder. One issue noted on the site was the railing cable for the hot tub area was broken(didn't look to great or safe). Overall, we had magnificent experience.

"The location was wonderful, peaceful and beautiful and the lodge was gorgeous, spacious and tastefully furnished."
Really well equipped we wanted for nothing, except maybe a more comfortable mattress, it is pretty thin and really noisy. But we still slept ok so not a biggie.
Loved the hot tub, the sound of the stream trees swaying, it was just the relaxer we needed after a horrendous past few months. Sunday we watched a herd of cows pick their way down through the woodland then wander back just sat on the decking….glorious.
We ate in the Old Mill House Friday and had a lovely meal, met the new chef when we come back will definitely eat there again. Looe and Polperro both very near as well as Trago Mills which is a must for me when in the West Country so we visited all of them and despite the madness bought fuel from a local petrol station no problem.
Would definitely come back.

"The location of the lodge is nice."
However we came back from our holiday exhausted. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever experienced in my life. We took it in turns to sleep on the sofas and the person who slept on the double bed had to use the single duvets to lie on and literally not move as the bed creaked loudly with every tiny movement. I did address this issue prior to our holiday as i saw other reviews and was assured it had been addressed. It definitely hadn’t. The mattress topper on the bed was covered in another guests pubic hairs !!!!
The Cushions in the lounge had stains on them. There was no where to dry washed clothes. We asked for an airer but they didn’t have one. The food at the on-site restaurant that was take out when we stayed was dreadful. If you book here please find a different lodge to stay in as we spent every day of our long awaited holiday tired and I have since had a sore back from sleeping on a sofa for a week. The help and assistance we received with the issue on holiday was practically non existent. Also the holiday was totally ruined with daily calls to and from trying to desperately rectify the sleeping issue before our week was up. I would recommend looking at the site as long as you don’t want to eat there and a totally different lodge !! It was the worst holiday I have ever been on because the lack of sleep impacted everyday on what we could cope with in our week long zombie state !!!! Total waste of money !!!

"We had 2 lodges booked and they were both lovely."
Just as described and it’s a great little spot. The only issue we had was that 1 of the lodges didn’t receive the ‘essentials box’ which consisted of 4/5 dishwasher tablets, bin bags and sponges etc. When we asked reception for one, they were quite rude and it was almost like they didn’t believe us. They then delivered just 1 tablet to our lodge, to last 4 days. I then found a caretaker ‘Chris’ the next day who fetched us a complete box and arranged for someone to top the levels up on our hot tub. The reception was the only downside but Chris rectified any issues - would definitely come back!

"We had an amazing stay at 3 Streamside."
This was our second visit to Stonerush Lakes and we already cannot wait to come back. As other reviews mention, the bed is extremely uncomfortable in the double room, so much so that we used the two single duvets from the spare bedroom as mattress covers! I also felt like the lodge could have been cleaner, especially during Covid. It made us feel uncomfortable that there were cushions left on the sofa and bed which will have been touched by hundreds of people. Despite this, we had an amazing time and we cannot wait to return! We have recommended Stonerush Lakes to our friends & family multiple times. Thank you!

"Just returning from an amazing week."
Lodge, location & hot tub was great, would love to return..,
However... as previous reviews have also mentioned.. bed is very uncomfortable and embarrassingly extremely creaky, even on the movement of a little toe!!! Unfortunately did not have single nights good sleep.
Would be nice to have comfortable patio furniture & sun loungers would be a nice touch, especially due to current restrictions a lot of our time was around the lodge, luckily for us we had our camping chairs which we used.

"The location and accommodation was perfect."
My observations however included; the double bed is well past its sell by date and needs replacing as too many dips in mattress for overall comfort; beds in both rooms need pulling out and a good vacuuming applied; there were not enough clothes hangers provided in the 2nd bedroom, so we had to live out of our suitcase: due to the current issues with Covid-19 I didn't expect to see cushions in the rooms; reception area could carry maps and information on walks and what to do in the local area.

The only recommendation I would make is that the property needs some outside solar foot lights down the steps & around the path to the front door which is actually on the opposite side of the building to where you park your car & it’s pitch black

"Lodge was beautiful, private and tranquil setting over looking the woodland and small stream."
Hot tub secluded and private. Lodge was immaculately clean, with milk in the fridge and tea, coffee sachets for our arrival. Also 2 bathrobes provided. Only one negative thing the mattress on the double bed was not comfortable, could feel and hear the springs everytime you rolled over. We had a fabulous week here visiting Looe,Polperro,Polruan(got passenger ferry),Fowey and Crantock Beach Newquay.

"We previously spent Christmas at 3 streamside in 2017, so to come back to this beautiful lodge was pleasant."
This location is perfect for having a little more privacy around the lounge area and the hot tub, as it faces the stream.
This year they had additional WiFi to the lodge which was really helpful, the lack of signal service to the area makes it hard to contact family over the period, so the WIFI made everyday living a lot easier.
The on-site restaurant has been upgraded to now having a takeaway service which again is a great touch for the home comfort.
Would highly recommend stonerush lakes to any family looking to make memories

"We stayed at this particular lodge last year and were more than happy to spend another holiday there."
The lodge itself is ample big enough for two adults and two children (age 9 & 3). Last year we could not fault the lodge. Beautifully clean and well equipped for a family with nice little extras like a hairdryer, towels, robes and a welcome pack with dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and tea/coffee. There were a couple of things that let it down this year unfortunately. One being a very uncomfortable king size bed. The springs could be felt through the padding which made sleeping very disturbed. Also the over flow in the en-suite toilet was continuously running so was very noisy and also made sleep difficult even with the door shut not to mention how much water this must be wasting. The tap in the kitchen constantly dripped too which was irritating whilst having dinner or watching tv. We put a sponge in the sink to lessen the noise. Also we had no bath robes on arrival and found a dirty robe behind one of the doors in the bedroom which was a bit minging. Cleanliness overall was great but you could see under the coffee table hadn’t been cleaned so maybe more attention to detail needed here. Having said all that the lodge itself is absolutely lovely and all things listed can be easily rectified. The decking was a lovely space for the hot tub and outdoor dining if the weather is good enough. We would come again as long as the things listed were addressed.

..Heaven on earth. We little literally felt our shoulders drop when we arrived at out lodge. This was our third visit here and it won't be our last! Number 3 Streamside Lodge is stylish and has everything you need. For us it's the setting is that really makes this a fabulous holiday choice. Set on the little stream and set low down it's very private. The hot-tub is brilliant and a very generous size too. Lovely place to return to after our days out sightseeing. We visited Padstow, Fowey and Mount Edgcumbe to name a few; we then stumbled on the fantastic beach Polzeath - what a find!!! Only criticism would be was the polyester pillows and duvet. We are used to feather and I and my husband found the pillows too hard.
Would definitely recommend Stonerush Lakes as a great place to stay in beautiful Cornwall !!
