    Good communication from thoughtful staff

  • "The property and it’s surroundings are excellent."

The beds extremely comfortable. Parking only for 1 car is very tight. The bushes around the parking space should be cut back a lot. This is our 3rd visit although 3 Valley View was a different lodge and much nicer than our previous one.

Thank you so much for leaving us with your lovely feedback Pauline, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay at 3 Valley View. Thank you also for your suggestion for trimming the bushes back around the parking area, to give a little more space, this has been passed to our grounds staff to implement. I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "When we arrived we were really impressed by the property but as we unpacked we noticed that it really did need a good clean."

The skirting boards were really dusty, we probably notice this more as we have a toddler so play on the floor. It felt like it needed a deep clean. The towel rails were also dusty and the toilet brushes were not pleasant. The en-suite shower also requires a deep clean. We didn’t use the en-suite at all as the toilet was leaking. The towel rail also didn’t work in here and the one in the main bathroom was coming away from the wall. I think the property would benefit from some maintenance. Other feedback I would like to give is that some sort of cleaning spray is provided for the kitchen and more than one tea towel. Overall we still had a fantastic stay even with the above and reception did offer to send someone to the property but by the time we had spoken to reception we were unpacked and out and about a lot. The location and site is lovely. We found the main living space to be fab and the outdoor space is also brilliant with a lovely view. The hot tub was spotless and maintained daily.

Hi we enjoyed our stay, could do with a gate to stop dogs wondering but the property was looking tired in certain rooms - the main bedroom had stains on carpet and carpet was lifting at door bar also the shower needed a deeper clean along the door runs, blind broken in second room and kettle switch broken but other than that it was immaculate and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back for a third visit

Thank you so much for your feedback Mary, I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay despite the issues you came across. Thank you for your suggestion of a gate for the access point at 3 Valley View, this is something that is being assessed. I am so sorry that you found unclean items in the lodge, we would never want this for our guests, so I apologise that you experienced it during your stay. I have passed your comments to our housekeeping team to resolve. As new owners we are at present carrying out a refurbishment programme across our resorts, but unfortunately these things do take time, so again I'm so sorry that your lodge has not yet had these improvements made to it. I am delighted that you are intending to come back to stay again in the future, we look forward to seeing you soon. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "Over all we had a fantastic stay and will be booking again, The only issues we had were no wifi or tv working , this was sorted with moving to another lodge for 3 days , general cleanness is something we think needs looking into ,as on closer inspection it fell below what was expected the main one being the shower which looked as though it had been overlooked for awhile and also a few cooking implements and no tea towel the velux window had no poles to open these and would have been ideal in the hot conditions ."

dont. let this distract from what was a great location great stay staff were brilliant in trying to sort out issues and accomadate us . we feel the icleaning inspection and hand over should be more thorough as these issues would have been picked up and its a shame to pull down what was a great week best gary

  • "The place is lovely, there was just a lot of work being done when we stayed , so we went home a day early ."

    But lovely friendly place

Thank you for your feedback Brian, I am really pleased to hear you enjoyed your time with us, despite the issue you experienced with the works being carried out. Unfortunately, during your stay, our new electric charging system was being installed throughout the resort and I know that, although the contractors tried very hard to keep noise levels to a minimum, there was some disruption to the peace and quiet. We apologise most sincerely for this and hope you will return to visit us again in the future. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at the property which was highlighted by the hot tub which we used every evening."

It was ideally located, very private and had lovely views over the rolling hills. Sally in reception was very helpful with local places to visit and was able to help us with any directions we needed. The only negative (and these are very minor) was we found the dishwasher still full from the last holidaymakers and the floor needed to be swept. Also the internal photos shown were not of the property, although this did not spoil our enjoyment. We would definitely book this holiday again.

I am absolutely delighted to hear that you had a peaceful and relaxing stay with us at 3 Valley View and made full use of the hot tub! It was lovely to meet you both, I hope you enjoyed visiting the local area. I am so sorry you found the dishwasher full on your arrival and that the floor was unclean, I have passed your comments to our housekeeping team. The issue with the photos of the lodge is something we will look into and resolve as soon as we possibly can, I apologise that this was overlooked. I very much look forward to seeing you back again to stay with us in the future. Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

  • "Loved this property, great location, would highly recommend."

It's bright and airy, nice comfy rooms, everything you could want as a base for exploring Cornwall. One thing which would really help is to add a gate accross either of the gaps on the deck, just would make it slightly easier to let kids/dog use the space safely.

I am delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us at 3 Valley View Tom and hope you will come back to visit us again very soon. Thank you so much for your thoughts on adding a gate to the outside space. I have passed your comment on, so hopefully this will be something we can action. • "This is our second visit to a charteroak lodge and we will be back for a third!"

We stayed at 3 Valley View for a week. It rained almost every day so having such a lovely place to relax was great. The hot tub was fantastic with great views of the countryside and good privacy. The lodge is well equipped for coking basic meals. There is a bathroom with a bath/shower and separate shower room off of the main bedroom. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay to explore Cornwall and unwind. Ideal if you have a dog too as they can stay with you.

It was really lovely to read your amazing feedback Luke, thank you so much for leaving us your thoughts. It sounds like you had a fantastic stay at 3 Valley View, despite the horrible weather! We really look forward to your third visit! Sally, Guest Services, Charteroak Property Owner

We put away a clean plate and in the morning we went to get it and it had mouse or rat poo and wee on. We looked in other cupboards and it had mouse or rat poo in as well I have taken pictures.

Thank you for your feedback. As the lodges are in a rural location there can be field mice. The issues within the lodge have been dealt with. Property Owner

About the location

LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
